  1. If we go down its because we have been <ovf censored> for virtually all of the season, home & away

  2. I’m looking forward to getting in players that play in one position and one position only, then signing back up players to stand in for them should they be tangled up by suspensions or injuries. Like a proper transfer window, squad balance, formation fitting planned strategy sort of thing.

  3. Why do you need to know? What's done is done. A very sad situation allround and in another time or place he may still have been our manager but it is what it is! The reason I mentioned it is because I see people blaming the roots of Vale's current plight on sacking him. All I'm saying is I can see why they made the decision, it's what's happened(or hasn't in terms of signings!) since that is more to blame imho.

  4. To be fair to Sang and Grant they are not fullbacks or wingbacks, but neither is Plant . Suppose it demonstrates the mess DF created and Moore is having to sort .

  5. We'll agree to disagree. Chislett is second top goalscorers and top in assists. In a poor team. Say no more I didn't mention Clark in my post I think Planty has done ok in an unfamiliar role,in his first full season. Much better than Grant or Sang. I'd go as far to say that Shorrock has had more impact than either of them.

  6. They have a canal, the original pier was demolished, and a replacement built. No different than a double-sided wharf. Sent from my SM-A715F using onevalefan mobile app

  8. Charlton signed Kuzenga Lua Lua on 15th March. There were still players we could have brought in, even since Moore came in. We just don’t seem to want to do all we can to stay up. It all comes down to money.

  9. The tickets have now arrived as I've just been up to buy one. There's only a handful left in block ns2 and I think there going be putting the ns3 block on sale later. There's 2 people basically going through all the Wigan tickets and sorting them out and whilst I was there somebody rang up and was told the tickets will be available to collect from tomorrow.

  11. Our manager has turned out most productive attacker in Chislett,to a bit part player stuck out on the wing tracking back and trying to tackle. We've scored 8 goals with a minus 10 goal difference in 11 games. Chislett has completed 90 minutes only twice and come off the bench 3 times. I honestly think we've got worse under Moore

  12. Dipepa will likely leave for a big chunk o' dosh and this will give the money to sign a couple of goal scorers providing the daft player wage structure/ceiling still isn't in place. If we do go down I'd like to see most of the current squad stay and together with 4-6 quality additions would provide some continuity and quality for a quick return to Lge 1. Chopping and changing a dozen+ players a season is not the way forward.

  13. 14th in League 2 would be a cracking achievement with this lot.

  14. I actually wanted to physically go to vale and buy a ticket in person then I know I've got the ticket and don't have to mess around either collecting the ticket later in the week or on the day. I might not bother going now and I'm sure there is plenty of others thinking the same.

  15. I'm not gutted for the owners if we go down, it's a harsh lesson in how not to run a football club(on the pitch). The warning signs were there from the 2nd half of last season and weren't heeded and more poor decisions were made. This coupled with not listening to the supporters until it's too late I don't have too much sympathy, it's 75% at least self inflicted. Yes they've done a lot of great work at the club on a crumbling infrastructure(off the pitch) but the 2 facets need to run side by side. I don't blame getting rid of Clarke(that's an unfortunate one where a number of things have conspired against him and the club but sadly at the time I think he had to go, if what I've heard is true). However we then appoint a manager with links to a squad/system that had started to struggle/fail already and coupled with our dum cluck DOF the rest we all know! As others have said it's the hope that kills you, we still have a chance but like Darren on the previous page I'll be honest I can't wait until it's over and relegation most likely confirmed. We can do all the conotations to death I'd be surprised if we get above 2 sides, Burton maybe but I think Cheltenham will pip us to it(oh the irony). Otherwise unless there is an almighty collapse and/or point deductions for 1 of Shrewsbury, Cambridge or Reading I think we are roundly buggered!

  16. Ultimately it would the club's fault for failing to make adequate Jan signings. Every bugger else managed it. Cambridge have 9 strikers. Just beat Barnsley and Wigan away over 3 days to move clear. Our dysfunctional relationship with strikers failed to be rectified and the ramifications are imminent. Trying to spin it in summer 23 when we ballsed up that window too with "we'll get goals from midfield instead" was a load of utter <ovf censored> <ovf censored>.

  18. I’ve never started a topic, but we need 11 points ( ask the great JR ) to stay in the league 1. 50 points is the holy grail. That means 4 wins in the last 7 games. Not possible, unless we gain the form of the start of the season. Slag me off, but my small light of hope had been rekindled after back to back wins. Now it’s gone, the half time substitutes at Northampton goes to show that we have overpaid players that have games played in there contracts. Conor grant has brought nothing to this club. Has a wide player he can’t cross, has a defender he can’t tackle. The same goes for Lionel ( Massey ) he’s now started playing better because his out of contract this summer (Thank the Lord ). Conclusion, I will attend the final 3 home games, which includes travelling back from business to see the Wycombe game and buy my season ticket for next year. I will always be there, my club will always be there. <ovf censored> players will come and go. Take the club to the grave!!!

  19. That's assuming Burton will get 11 points from 5 games and Cheltenham 13 points from 7 games Don't think we need 12 points but if we got them we'd probably finish above Cambridge and Shrewsbury with 51 points I'd be very surprised if 3 wins wasn't enough

  20. Vale have put messages out throughout this , explaining that they had not got the tickets and have been waiting on Wigan to forward them. Also said that as soon as they were available they would make it known , this is exactly what they have done . If people choose to ignore this and randomly turn up to collect something that they’ve been informed is not there how is this Vale’s fault ? Of course there always has to be some people it doesn’t suit but hey why let facts get in the way when they’re constantly looking for something to whinge about 🙄 UTV

  21. He still has a good return though. He hasn’t been great and I agree re the free kicks but he’s the best of our choices at the moment. Shocker from Moore on Monday subbing him for weir.

  22. Chislett been poor since the start of the year. You also do not know what his attitude is like in training either. I have been really disappointed with Chislett's attitude on the pitch since Christmas especially when he think's he can just fall over to win free kicks

  23. In league one and two owners can inject money to fund players as long as it isn’t in directors loans. The Oxford owners put in £2m a year to subsidise wages. Dont we owe our owner some wedge ?

  24. Stockport are going well, but I do take your point about signing the right type of player. Having said that Money seems to be working far better than the Process.

  25. Not sure it's fair to compare, let's say 'Crosby's team' (and the players he had at his disposal) and 'Moore's team' (and the players he's got at his disposal). Obviously, no Blaster or Devine. Also, loanees from January haven't really been successful.

  26. Certainly need at least a point. Our away form is truely awful and scoring away from home is proving close to impossible. Since the start of the year we've managed 3 in 7 games.
    1 point
  27. We need win 1 of our 3 remaining away games. With Wigan having nothing left to play for then technically this is our easiest away fixture. Wigan have been dreadful the past couple of games, so no doubt they will play really well in this game and thrash us 3 or 4 nil.

  28. Surely we have a win in us to make it interesting? I still feel Cheltenham will hit a bad run so we need to get a win to chase that 20th place. I really hope we play attacking football. If we go behind it is always game over

  29. Yeah I was intending on travelling from Manchester as well. We'll have to hold our horses until Bolton in a couple of weeks.

  30. What gets me is the issue of not listening to the Supporters. I realise they don't have a footballing background and that their business experience is completely unrelated but people with their obvious ability and intelligence should have been able to identify the vast wealth of knowledge and experience available to tap into from the Supporters. It's a near unique situation not available to other businesses and yet they didn't just ignore it, they sneered at it. That went well didn't it...

  32. It's been several months since Chislett was effective. I don't know what is going on, but we have seen him too deep picking up the ball and dribbling to be effective as a goal scorer from advanced midfield / wide forward. He's also started getting tackled much more in the second half of the season - fair dues in that if no one else poses much of a threat the opposition will concentrate on him. Now he seems to have got one foot disease when it comes to shooting? He has gone massively backwards since the New Year. I can see why Moore took him off v Northampton. But I do hope he can get fixed this week and turn up as the player he was in the remaining games from the bench or starting. If so, I'd close his hatchback and take him off the forecourt.

  33. Going back to Sang. When he was recruited I looked at his history. He has been at some good clubs - Cardiff, Cheltenham, St Johnstone. He battled away at Cardiff but couldn't become a regular at Championship level. When he went to Cheltenham, he was mainly a sub. He got some reasonable game time at St Johnstone. At PV I think it's unfortunate for him and PV he got injured around the New Year. Flitcroft referred to him as a midfield player. But at PV and other clubs he has often found himself at RB / WB etc. To me, wherever he plays, his need for improvement is marking and tackling. He's pretty good on the ball and can cross OK even if not outstanding. My overall opinion - good squad player if we were in L2, but we are in L1 and he's not nailed down a place. Often sub appearances, occasionally runs in a team.

  35. I like Chislett. He creates a lot of chances, 9 goals and 7 assists so far and generally passes forwards. Appreciate when times are tough he doesn't look like the hard grafting midfielder we find it easy to like. I do think he is a success especially on a free transfer. I could easily see a mid table league one team wanting him. Would half expect to see a team like Charlton go in for him.

  39. Yet again yesterday the weakness of the right side of our defence was brutally exposed on two occasions. The first goal Tom Sang had two yards on his man, got caught ball watching and never looked like catching him after Loft gave it away in midfield . The second he was at least level and got left for dead. Debra as right sided defender was MIA and provided no cover for the first goal. I’m not sure who should have been covering for the second. Sang must have cost us a dozen goals this year. A serial ball-watcher, he can’t tackle or head, is a predictable crosser, and simply too slow and lacking athleticism for his position. Debra looks positionally naive and has the distribution of a three-legged camel. Both are non-leaguers the season after next. I just hope it’s not with Vale.

  40. For me Chislett is pushed over by their No5 as he was about to shoot for the first chance, it's clearly visible on iFollow. For Uche's chance, a natural goal scorer would have taken a few more steps closer and then either shot or played it into the path of Garrity who was steaming towards the goal unopposed. Conversely Ripley should have done better with Pinnock's effort but Pinnock was closer to Ripley and low and hard then works most of the time. Catalogue of missed chances yesterday. Only straws to cling to are DM seems more certain about his core starting players, we're playing better as a team now, creating a few more chances and the defense looks a tad more secure with Yak in it, but it is clutching at straws. The dropped points against Carlisle and Cheltenham away and Fleetwood at home are gonna cost us big time, all academic though now.

  42. That's my view too. I actually think Ethan adds something different, but he doesn't seem to be Moore's cup of tea. If that's the case then surely it's worth pairing Ojo and Walters and putting our top-goalscorer in a more advanced role? I think it makes sense especially considering how toothless our forwards are (with the honourable exception of Baylee who is still learning his trade). I think BG is in his element making surging runs into the box. I also think Rhys Walters is an interesting one as he's potentially more than just a ball winner, he can produce the odd quality through ball. I can see (or I hope I will see) BG potentially thriving off a few of them...

  43. I agree with Rhys in with Funso. I feel Ben's wasted not being pushed further up. Kind of subdues and pacifies our leading scorer playing where he is atm

  44. I know this is about summer but browsing YouTube as I often do I watched 5 mins of Liverpool v Man City U21. Williams absolutely fine and playing week in week out. So our January 2024 loanees Williams. Alleged poor attitude. Sent back. Definitely not injured as Vale press release said. Gore. Injured after 60 odd mins. Not seen since. Mighten. Rarely used. Pointless signing. Lopata. As per Mighten. Can't get in one of the worst defences in the division. Pointless signing. Weir. Generally anonymous yet shone in another relegation side in Morecambe last season. Pointless signing. What a sorry sorry bunch of signings.
