Plus we have the likes of Burton, Fleetwood, Cheltenham and Cambridge distorting the markets by bringing in multiple strikers in January. It's just not fair.10 points

Nice to see Mr. Everything football doing his bit today by going for a walk to get 500 and odd quid for the foundation. It’s virtue signaling at its finest. Darren Moore stated in one of his interviews that he and “Dave” would leave no stone unturned and it’s 24 hours a day. Bull. Carol claps like a seal. Dave stands there knowing he’s in control. Mr Narcissist strikes again. The fans want him to do his <ovf censored> job. Not go walking for the foundation. What an absolute mess this football club is in.8 points

Not true, I have it on good authority that the Icelandic Striker Gunnar Skoorsoonsson is joining on a 3 year contract.6 points

Have you got a bet on with somebody, the number of times you can type “Fraudcroft” in a day, or is it just about exceeding your own personal targets and goals? Well done by the way, either way it’s a high bar you’ve set yourself. 👏🏻4 points

How about Martin Foyle to be the DOF for the Vale? He's been Head of Recruitment for several clubs for around 9 years now4 points
-
I would agree @Playa Amodores - I'm frustrated too and really surprised that something hasn't been done. My concern isn't just for this season, which I think we'll be very fortunate to escape relegation, but the next one too. Due to the crazy contract situation we're either saddled with the same squad or it will cost a fortune to agree mutual terminations of contracts. Even if we do manage a clear out, then does anyone have any faith we'll recruit widely or will we miss out again and be telling a Podcast about all the amazing players that didn't sign for Port Vale?4 points
-
Even if you thought that was a good move how do you do that - force him? He's got a football agency to run. I can't imagine it's a role where you can just say to your dozen players or whatever - oh well, I'm not your agent anymore as Port Vale need me... If they do want a DoF having a proper interview process with candidates would be a good start, rather than just appointing the first person through the door who mentions it.4 points

I believe he was a big striker. If we've decided he is no use to us then he probably needs to think about what he wants to do as a career as it surely won't be playing football.4 points

So DM tells us they’ve had a player in this week but they don’t feel he would contribute to the “groooooop” My god, Brian feckin Potter would contribute more than some of our squad.4 points

I can imagine it now DF sorts our striker situation with a double whammy signing Zak Mills and bringing Tomlinson back from wrestling. “I’ve been watching him for a while now and he hasn’t been scoring many in the league of WWE, so we feel it’s best for everyone for him to get a fresh start. We are going for our 5th changing room next season so it will really make the player feel welcome. With the 5 year contract he has assurances that at some point in the future he will most likely get his very own changing room as we continue to build. In terms of style, well the way he handles the steel chairs, you don’t see much of that in football so he will be a great addition in a relegation battle. His stats are arguably the best in the whole league in terms of hitting people with chairs” “Zak has signed on a 2 year deal. Unfortunately we weren’t able to increase the length as he simply wasn’t interested in a changing room. He was more for an extra gym, but we’re not planning to move the one we currently have for another 10 years or so. Still, his goalscoring record speaks for itself and I’m sure he is going to be good for a literal goal or two a season. He will be unavailable for selection for a couple of weeks as he currently has sore toe, then he has a free Palestine protest he’s been looking forward to, but he’s excited to join up with the squad soon after.” I’ve not even started drinking yet 💩3 points

I find it unbelievable that we have got ourselves into this situation and its going to impact on next season. It's quite sad really, all this is so unnecessary, I fear ego's and stubbornness are the root cause of our problems.3 points

I’ve just listened to Moores pre match interview about free agents. ”Me and Dave” At this point I’m thinking he’s surrounding himself (Flitcroft) with shields to release the pressure. ”We tried”. Same old <ovf censored>. Unsurprising. So there you go. We go into the remaining games with the crap we have. As Vale fans you make your mind up and make your mind up quick. If you think it’s acceptable that Dave Flitcroft should be here and is doing a good job then good for you. But don’t moan in the summer when he oversees another transfer window. Ive never known anything like this at all. Something does not stack up.3 points

Moore must have known relegation was a distinct possibility, surely he can't walk if we do go down as: His career will be on the downslide and he'll need to restore it to get a decent job He'll look insincere if he signs a really long deal then walks away (as I don't think he'll be sacked.) So what are people's thoughts on the chances that he will be our manager should we go down? I am not personally going to judge his performance until he's had a significant number of games under his belt having had the chance to shape his own team. I hope he gets the chance to do that whatever league we are in. I don't think we can even look at his tactics / formations / subs too much at this stage as in all seriousness, what can he do? It'll only change when he brings players in to play the style he wants and he is responsible for managing them having had direct input.3 points

I wonder if Foyle would be of help on the scouting front? It's some years back but he was responsible for spotting Brooker (Horton was the manager but Foyle spotted him) and also bringing in Constantine and Sodje so, back in the day at least, he knew the odd decent striker when he saw one.2 points

If we don't change our present DOF/Manager set-up, then that outcome will be baked-in...2 points

I think Flitcroft is ok in League Two because its easier to recruit, we are a relatively large fish, with a higher end budget so recruiting your Tom Petts, Jamie Proctors shouldn't be too difficult. In League One its a different scenario as we are a smaller fry, smaller budget for that level and that seems to be where we lose out.2 points

Don't want to get relegated at Bolton or on the last day at home to Cambridge as that would mean we are only a point or two shy of staying up so Peterboro away would do me. How quick this season has fallen apart !2 points

We are going to be the loveliest, most sincere club in league 2 next season....and a league lower the next....how can this happen with PHENOMENALLY good players....a committed and wise DOF... Oh yeah, it happens when you have owners who are well intentioned but absolutely clueless... sad to say but true....if you can't see your mate flicker for what he is you are deluded, enough voices have told you,be strong or watch this wonderful club sink like a stone...and that will be your legacy.2 points

If Carol can't bring herself to remove DF, why not give him a changed role and put him in charge of project managing all the ground developments which is the part of his job he seems good at. Then let the manager sort out recruitment along with the existing recruitment team.2 points

He is working with players who lets be honest most of them wouldn't get a game at Kidderminster Harriers, I'm not judging him until he gets his own players in , Fraudcroft has thrown him under the bus with this squad. Daz Moore has got my backing without a doubt but the majority of the players he's working with seem to have accepted relegation and that's what really p##### me off to be honest These Players need to Show more Fight & mental toughness2 points

Rob, with everything as it is at the moment, some fans will vote with their feet as they’re more than entitled to do so. This season will be detrimental definitely to next season, which could start a domino effect. I’m not sure that if we were in L2 now, that we’d be in the top half of the table. As I’ve previously highlighted we got about 24 points this season when Alfie/ Ollie played, so if we deducted them, we’d almost certainly be down. PVFC is like any other business the product needs to be what the customer wants, when are our owners going to realise this. Again as I've said before I just want to watch a team with some fight and passion in them. Also a team that can change formats and tactics to exploit the weakness of the opposition. I apologise for repeating myself and for being frustrated. I should be use to it.1 point
-
Rob, would it be a conflict of interest, that wouldn’t be allowed by the EFL.? I totally agree any process would be good and advisable before appointing someone but I don’t think that we’re either capable of doing that, or it’s just something that we fail to do. I’m just seething and frustrated with what’s happening at the club and would like change. The comment was mainly based on connections within that came from the incumbent DoF, stated in his mantra.? I personally don’t think we need a DoF and it’s wasted wage.1 point

Those are my thoughts too. Make him Head of Football Development and Infrastructure or something like that and then just let the manager get on with signings.1 point

Leyton Orient have signed a striker yesterday from Cardiff, he left Cardiff under a cloud, but Welles’s sees potential there. So there are players available to sign. If the intent is there.1 point

And who’s the fella calling him “Flicker”???? Embrace him by his name and not that stupid nickname that gives him power and says I’m better than you.1 point

I think time has given Belly a halo he never deserved? It wasn't great, turning up, for the first game of the new season, to find your best player had been sold...time after time! Fortunately, Rudgie was the manager and found some great replacements...but they became fewer over time.1 point

Just a reminder that since DF went full time which Carol announced 10 games ago we have won 0, drawn 3, and lost 7. Way to go big guy.1 point

He can’t be allowed to do any more damage. A team with this little fight falls straight through to the national league from league two next year.1 point

I've seen some bizarre posts but Fleetwood on a par with Middlesbrough is right up there. The reason for the booing and quite rightly was that we were gutless and pathetic in that second half. If you decide to sit back and invite pressure and allow the opposition to have all of the ball and show no ambition to get it back and when you do to try and play the ball forward, you are asking for trouble. Fleetwood will be going down with us, they will get a couple of wins and finish above us but we can have a nice trip to them next season I have no doubt about that.1 point

I never got the "love in" with Reading. If the shoe was on the other foot Southern clubs would not give a monkeys chuff.1 point
