  1. Not renewing. Not going. Not buying a shirt. Not interested.

  2. Imagine if they got another 3 points due to a mass pitch invasion before the end of the season? Might be worth Carol putting on 10 free coaches from VP to one of their home games in March....

  3. I never got the "love in" with Reading. If the shoe was on the other foot Southern clubs would not give a monkeys chuff.

  4. He's got to be held wholly responsible. Loft. Well the joke statement of chasing him all summer is enough for the sack. And I'm not jumping on the bandwagon after that header as I've posted concerns for a while but as per Jones there is a strange love in. Debrah is an utter liability. Non league yard dog. Both signed by cheeky chappy Flitters.

  5. I was wrong. So very wrong. Although his stubbornness to change formation and tactics annoyed the hell out of me. Crosby was the least of our problems.

  8. It's a farce at this point. The evidence could hardly be any starker but Carol is in a parallel universe where every target has been met and the recruitment has been phenomenal.

  9. Won't make an ounce of difference but either Flitcroft goes or my family withhold our season ticket money. Only £970 but how many others are not going to renew? Flitcroft has failed you as an employee and should be sacked in the morning !

  10. So: Crosby out - Achieved Flitcroft out Carol out Darren Moore out All the players out bar Garrity and Ripley Patrick out? Hancock out? I said when Carol took over that the vicious cycle would repeat itself in a few years, as it's always the fkin same with you lot. And so it has. Some of you really do have very very short memories and demand the earth for the £300 you pay every 12 months. As for the comment that this team is the worst in 40 years. It's not the worst in 4 years, let alone 40 for Christ's sake.

  11. I’ll send this message to Carol now. If you want to keep David Flitcroft at the club because you THINK he’s making you money, then keep him the hell away from ANYTHING to do with the football side and DO NOT under ANY circumstances, give him another transfer window. He is single handedly destroying this football club. And by the way, if the rumours are true and we are paying Ryan Loft around 3k a week, then take it out of Flitcrofts pay, because to chase such a woeful footballer is beyond a disgrace. Open your <ovf censored> eyes fast Carol!!

  13. 1 point from 23rd, 21st, and 20th when you’ve been brought in to help avoid relegation is ‘not good’. I expected some degree of impact - nothing major, but just a sign that someone competent was in the dugout. He’ll get time, but this slow start has likely killed our survival hopes and we can’t just pretend these results were inevitable. We should have picked up 4-5 points.

  14. Fleetwood looked on a par to Middlesbrough to me. Well above our level. Hence I don't get the booing of our players.

  17. Get him out the big FAILURE.

  18. Carol, you're as much to blame as your beloved Flicker. He's destroying (if he hasn't already destroyed) the club and you're allowing it. That to me is just as unforgivable. Valeforever got it spot on in everyway, because you are definitely leaving a legacy.

  19. If Reading escape the drop, I'd still be going nuts with the league over allowing them to sign players like Smith and Knibbs. They should NEVER have been allowed to assemble the squad they have given what's happened. It's basically cheating someone else out of a league one place. Relegation minimum punishment is what they should get.

  20. I think there was every appetite for a few years of mid-table. There wasn’t for 31 defeats in 54.

  21. It's a lot easier for Port Vale and our budget to sign good League Two players. We managed to transform the side from nonsense to be able to punch above our weight and win promotion quickly.

  22. I’m obviously one of the <ovf censored> because I can’t see how sacking managers off on the back of what is essentially poor recruitment is financially prudent, or shows any long term planning. In fact sacking managers at a point in the season where the new incumbent can’t recruit players shows no planning whatsoever. I also can’t see how repeatedly recruiting a squad totally bereft of goals will engage the fans in any way. It’s hard to compute, for me at least, how relegation will increase ticket sales or bring in more revenue. As for sustainability, are you telling me that all those “new” season ticket holders we picked up after promotion will be renewing if we’re relegated? Much of what you say in your post has been wrecked by decisions made presumably by David Flitcroft our DoF.

  23. The plan: (Made simple for <ovf censored> heads) Running a football club with limited financial resources requires careful planning, strategic decision-making, and a focus on long term sustainability. Here are some key principles that such a club should consider lads: 1. Financial prudence:The club should prioritize financial stability above short-term success. This means avoiding excessive spending on player wages and transfer fees that could lead to financial strain. Implementing strict budgeting and financial controls is essential to ensure that the club operates within its means. 2. Investing in youth development: Developing a strong youth academy can be a cost-effective way to nurture homegrown talent and provide a pipeline of players for the first team. By investing in youth development programs, the club can reduce reliance on expensive transfers and build a strong foundation for the future. 3. Scouting and recruitment: Instead of competing for high priced signings in the transfer market, the club should focus on scouting and recruiting talented players with potential. This requires a robust scouting network and a thorough analysis of player performance and potential. Signing players on free transfers or loan deals can also be a cost effective strategy. 4. Maximizing revenue streams: While the club may not have the financial resources of larger clubs, it can still explore opportunities to maximize revenue streams. This could include increasing ticket sales through affordable pricing, securing sponsorship deals with local businesses and leveraging digital and merchandising opportunities to engage fan and generate additional income. 5. Community engagement: Building strong ties with the local community can provide valuable support and resources for the club. This could involve hosting community events, engaging with local schools and youth organizations, and partnering with local busineses to promote the club and its activities. A loyal and engaged fan base can provide crucial support, both financially and emotionally, during challenging times. 6. Long term planning: The club should adopt a strategic approach to planning, with clear short-term and long-term objectives. This includes setting realistic targets for on field performance, financial sustainability, and infrastructure development. By establishing a clear vision and direction, the club can make informed decisions that support its overall goals. Overall, running a football club with limited financial resources requires a combination of prudent financial management, strategic planning, and a focus on building strong relationships with fans and the local comunity. By prioritizing sustainability and investin in the development of homegrown talent, such a club can overcome financial challenges and thrive in the long term etc etc etc. I imagine this is what df is going for. Lets put it simple, he isnt there yet.

  24. This thread is unbelievable. The great John rudge who we rightly fate as one of if not the best manager ever started with a relegation and took us down as well as up during his time. The side is gash, the style of play is ponderous, it's like watching Sunday league players who have only been taught to play in small triangle passes. It's going to take a while to sort this out. Moore in for me.

  26. <ovf censored> me have you been watching this group of jelly this season? 1st game in charge 2-1 up 30 minutes to go against a team below and our squad of jelly collapsed. 2nd game. Formation changed we looked better for it overall. A wonder strike then our squad of jelly return to type. 3rd game. THE CAPTAIN literally hands an open goal to the opposition and the squad of jelly shat themselves. Very few players wanted the ball. What is Darren Moore supposed to do with a group of senior players where the CAPTAIN has had probably the worse season of his professional career, the vice captain is sulking. The senior players signed by Flitcroft since we were promoted are ability wise <ovf censored>, physically and mentally weak. But yes it must be Darren Moore’s fault for the formation and training.

  27. Flitcroft OUT Recruitment for the last TWO years : Absolutely shocking. Flitcroft has to be sacked for this alone. Recruitment team !! Disgraceful. Then we insist on the same formation that has not worked. Yes it was good when Arblaster and Devine and Garrity were on song and thats it. [ We were promoted purely on a six month purple spell from Garrity and his goals helped us massively first half of promotion season ] Never seen such an unbalanced squad of players at Port Vale Jones, two year contract. Wilson, not required and then signed in desperation when we could not get anyone. [ we then learn we were chasing Loft all along ] What has our recruitment team given us. Signings : Ripley , Chislett , Leutwiler - Positives Clark - hopefully but jury still out Sang , Grant , Lowe , Iacovitti , Debrah , Uche , Loft , Wilson - Poor. Not strengthened us. Loans : Arblaster , Devine - excellent Thomas , Weir , Lopata , Mighten , Gore , Williams - Poor. Not strengthened us. Youngsters, our own : Plant , Mc'Dermott , Shorrock , Walters , Diepepa , Brazier , Lomax , Good to say that we are bringing players through but are they ready ? Should they be playing now ? NO Only time will tell if they will be successful for us and that is another two years minimum. Not strengthened us. A complete farce and Flitcroft is responsible for everything football related. Carol GET FLITCROFT OUT OF OUR CLUB NOW

  28. 3 league wins from 29 takes some doing? It's March on Friday I wonder if we could go a whole calendar year without winning a game? FLITCROFT OUT......

  29. Considering he’s the head of “everything football related” you are very correct. The evidence is overwhelming. If this was a court of law, the jury would unanimously vote in favour of his sacking. The man is an utter disgrace. And I’ll continue to say it. He’s a narcissist. Where is the POWERFUL woman Carol once was? Where has that demeanor gone? Why is she against the fans in defending him? Why is she emotionally defending him in the valiant suite? It is all the traits of being controlled by a narcissist. Id happily tell him to his face as well but he would just laugh it off and ridicule me. And make me the victim. It’s what they do. At this very point in this football club, he is now the most evil person we have had since Norman. And I would go as far to say that he is not far off Norman. And I don’t say that lightly. 18 months of excuses. This is getting silly. True fans will be getting angry.

  33. Another points deduction for Reading drags them a bit closer back in. You’d hope it would he to our benefit but then we have to actually win some ourselves which is the problem. Reading set for fresh points deduction for HMRC-related issues after hearing WWW.READINGCHRONICLE.CO.UK

  35. You took a sabbatical Tony? Welcome back. If you re read the thread of posts you completely miss the point. I'm talking about senior signed players this season, those experienced lads who will be in prime and above in their careers. For avoidance of doubt lads 27> They have been a disgrace. Happy to break those players down for you if you're still unsure what and who I'm referring to.

  36. I don't agree there Smithie. Any players worth their salt should know the implications of relegation. Rallying the players is down to Moore. No interference. I was reading in the Lardinel that Walters has done that at Stoke. Surely it's Schumacher job not some ex player. Leave the man management to Moore in my opinion.

  37. James Wilson / Jamie Proctor / Tom Pett / Mal Benning / Harry Charsley / Connor Hall / Dennis Politic / Lewis Cass / Funso Ojo / Ellis Harrison / Will Forrester / Ethan Chislett / Connor Ripley / Mitch Clarke / Alex Iacovitti / Tom Sang / Uche Ikpeazu / Jesse Debrah / Jayson Leutwiler - would all like to thank you for your support! There have also been players who most of us thought would be decent signings, but just didn't work out for us, for whatever reasons. And, of course, there are loan players and our own youngsters who have been much better than "a disgrace to their profession)!!! Maybe your memory just needed jogging?

  38. She has been let down but I felt from the outset that she had unrealistic optimism for growing the attendances. Although it was great to see the enthusiasm and ambition, history shows we've struggled to break the 7-8k barrier even when an established Div 2 (ie Championship) side. Without ridiculous levels of spending, we were always going to (and probably needed to) stabilise in the third tier. What she maybe didn't twig was that there's no great appetite for mid-table football season in, season out. I feel sorry for her, but I'm sure she's got her exit route in mind. We're here for life.

  40. Moore said himself Lopata was fit & ready to play before Cheltenham mate & he’s not even made the match day squad since. He said he’s not been selected because only 2 cb slots available on the bench but he was really good when he has played by far our best defender & grafted his arse off. Playing Lowe for 90 mins in every game he shouldn’t even be in the squad. Why was Dipepa our first sub on Saturday? He offers absolutely nothing & wouldn’t get a game at leek town.

  41. Despite his goal, Smith was overshadowed by Lopata at Cheltenham. Not only that but Lopata has shown more leadership and organisational ability than anyone else at the back.

  42. You cannot call for the managers head after 3 games, just look at what he has got to work with, an unbalanced squad of sub-standard low confidence players, many of whom do not even seem to be prepared to put a shift in. Alex Ferguson would struggle to get a performance out of them. I don't believe that Moore will walk if (when) we go down as it looked odds-on when he took the job. I guess he will have a big say in who should stay and who should go in the end of season clearout. I also think that Darren will be telling flitcroft exactly what he wants in terms of replacements. Keep the faith with Darren, I trust him more than the clown dof.

  44. This is just dumb. Wasting time listening to manager comment as if you're ever going to hear anything insightful when it's always, always going to be the same old tired things. Yawn. Also don't see any alternatives that would apparently do better either. Yes, lets blame DF (and he should go) but it's not going to change absolutely anything at this point. We have a poor squad who can't score at present, Moore's been appointed and has made some changes to his credit even if things don't look good. It's the best, and only chance we have now of saving the season. Let's just take it game to game, eh?

  45. I think there are only a handful of people whose head I would call for after three games. Jim Gannon, Mark Stein, Steve Foley, Ian Cranson. I wouldn't even call for Lou Macari's head. Darren Moore has a free hit here. The damage is already done. He needs our backing 100%.

  46. Just listened to the latest DF Podcast, confirmed my thoughts from the fans forum. DF speaks with confidence and conviction and could easily "talk the hind legs off a donkey" so to speak. However, having met many people in industry over the last 40 years who spoke in a similar vain when promising the earth and trying to re-invent the wheel, I am left feeling very sceptical indeed. This could be due to my lack of self belief or could be due to many years experience of similar characteristics and living in the real world. He talks of Crosby being set targets and not meeting them. Who set DF's targets - Carol? If so it seems that these were of a financial (profit based) nature rather than success in terms of recruitment and success on the pitch (as per Crosby). He again talked of 6/7 scenarios in the January window regarding striker recruitment, mentioning on many occasions that we were "close". If this was the case and the previous 3 windows followed a similar trend, then from around 24-28 attempted signings we made x2 (Thomas/ Taylor). If Crosby failed to deliver on his target which I assume was points by December (say 25 games) then DF has obviously not been set recruitment targets 'on the pitch', merely to maximise current profit via youth on/ off the pitch. Profit from the 'Campus' must be high on his checklist too. I still can't get it out of my head to not recruit a striker of any note in two years - IS FAILURE in anyone's book. Fundamental errors (or a plan to cut costs) have resulted in us having a considerably weaker sqaud in key positions imo. If I'm honest, Ripley, Chislett and OJo have been an improvement but there has been a decline in wing-back positions for sure. I hope I'm wrong and yes, I so want to be but I am yet to be convinced. Darren Moore is a proven manager but he surely will struggle with this squad. Moan over. You reap what you sow in football.
