JR got most right, but also a few wrong. 

Since Bosman its always been a bit harder, perhaps less the last few years.

Lots of players are available, the desperate ones will have gone. 

Loans will help, can see us going that way again, makes sense. 

Frustrates a few but thats the game these days @ any level.

If I remember right Horton played Bent on the wing then got rid off him Adrian Heath at Sheff Utd

When are we playing Dundee United? 

Wonder if the game will be possibly streamed live or we'll get highlights maybe. 

I'm all for patience waiting and trusting the process but it's definitely been a boring pre season with the lack of games and signings.

I think it's important to remember that when you are a professional footballer at League 1 and 2 level the close season and determining your future can be a wretched time. It is a short career and the pay is not great even if you can get a six figure salary because of that very fact. Most careers are circa 8 years and you have to be prepared to go anywhere in the country and even anywhere abroad. With insecurity of employment you always have to be looking at what next after football.

We play them tomorrow,so i wonder when the players come back home? Surely things will need to pick up a bit then and get a few players in before the Rochdale friendly

I wonder what the the situation is with Tyreese Simpson at Ipswich? He was certainly a handful in his loan spell at Swindon last season. I don't think he played a game for Ipswich even after his recall from his loan spell. Would Ipswich be prepared to sell/loan him to a rival league1 team or is it only Vale that do that?

Does anyone know what kind of signings Cheltenham Cambridge and morecambe made when they went into league one? Did they get 3/4 league one players to help them stay up or did they go with what they had. I thought we would’ve signed a bit of quality if I’m honest and I know there is still time but it’s looking a bit unlikely now. I think it’ll be 3 young lads similar to harratt and Edmundson type players. Not sure that’s what we need if we are stay up and be competitive. It’s a tough old league with some decent mid table sides never mind the top 8. Have the official site mentioned anything about this zoom call with a potential keeper? Clarke and Flitcroft will of course know who they wanted to target but if the wages are not available then you have to go back and see who else you can pick up. That’s probably why the delay.

I am sure Vale are aware of the relevant pay levels, just a matter of patience if you want the best deals.

They want £600k for him so that rules us out.
