Sad for the folks who have travelled, but Dazzler Moore getting them in sharpish tomorrow for 3 days of proper prep ahead of a massive double-header is class.3 points

Weather has definitely done us a favour tonight I reckon. Extra breathing space for Darren Moore to get his feet under the table and more healing time for the injured players.2 points

I agree about the backlog but the 3 days he now has before a humongous game at Cheltenham could be priceless. You could argue if we win there then barring unbelievable form the bottom 3 will be somewhat cut adrift. Would not fancy going Cheltenham after a potential chastening defeat tonight.2 points

Got to feel sorry for Connor Ripley, spending your birthday in Peterborough and not even a game of footy to take the edge off. ☔️🌧️2 points

You’re right but at some point we need to help ourselves so one way to stick another nail in the coffin is to go there and win. Charlton also held to a draw and Cambridge and Wycombe losing things could be worse for us.1 point

Nice little boost for us with Barnsley getting a stoppage time leveller at Shrews. I think it’s them primarily who are the target we could haul in.1 point

I wonder how many keyboard contributors who find tonight's postponement 'convenient' have actually travelled to the Posh? i left home in mid Wales at 12 noon and checked into The Saxon Cross in Corby this evening. Radio Cambridge alerted me to the postponement at 7pm...... It's far from convenient !......and costly.1 point

I think it would have to have been done prior to transfer deadline day as the club would still hold his registration which is why I presume the <ovf censored> did that with Dwight Gayle.1 point

It makes the decision to call games off in the Autumn for "international call-ups" look extremely stupid now!1 point

Some players thrive on matches rather than training, but the teams we have had, in the past, doing that were playing well. It may be harder when you are struggling, but one win and confidence built, could mean within 7 days you have that chance to get that boost. You do need the players though ? That is a major concern.1 point

Gary Madine doesn't have a club. Neither does Connor Wickham. Lee Gregory not in the Wednesday squad list so can't play for them - could be released in order to find a new club (knows Moore well).1 point

Could we now get a striker in, appreciate its from a limited pool.1 point

Flat East Anglia gets very little rain (Cambridge typically has less annual rainfall than Barcelona) but I’ve not known a 12months like it in the last 15 years. No punting on the Cam some days this winter because the river is too high and the soak-aways on housing estates/new built up areas are now overflowing, pre 2023 they’ve usually been pretty much bone dry all year round. Guess covers would have to be water tight to give the protection needed to prevent this last year’s inundations causing postponements.1 point

The problem we have now is we are already scheduled Saturday Tuesday every week in February. March we have 6 fixtures already but have now got add Peterborough away and Wycombe at home to it. Were basically going be playing Saturday Tuesday every week till the end of the season. If anymore get called off after that then we could end up with a Saturday Tuesday Thursday Saturday week for playing games.1 point

'But Vale academy coaches Will Ryder, Matt Done and Danny Lloyd, who were put in charge of the first team on an interim basis following Crosby's sacking, will remain at the helm for the Peterborough game.' Taken from BBC Sport.1 point

We had better get something tonight or we will have to start looking for another new manager 😜1 point

Great appointment, good record and think he will fit well. Hopefully starts making us harder to beat and see how we set up under him.1 point

Chuck £100k at him until the end of the season could save us from the drop and big losses from that.1 point

6/1 and dropping for this one.... I'd settle for avoiding a good hammering here TBH..... The ACID test comes on Saturday of course, I ASSUME with the new manager in place....1 point

I'm sure a certain proportion of our fan base that post on here want relegation purely so they can come on here and pontificate just how right they were and how "nobody listened".1 point

Flitcroft, fair enough on the player recruitment side and clearly, for whatever reason, the Crosby appointment didn’t work out. On the flip side, you have to give him credit for the appointment of Clarke, and with it promotion, or are you ignoring that? I’m not a fan of Flickers but I’ll back Carol’s judgement for a while longer. If we’re relegated then the inquest can be held at that point. Up ‘til then the team need support from the stands. You seem to have an agenda against the owners. I think you’re way out of touch with the vast majority of our fans on that score. It’s easy to come on here spouting drivel so why not make your point, stand outside the main entrance at the next home game and protest away to your hearts content.1 point

There's no such thing as 'earning your chance'. The opportunity to manage PVFC is not a reward for hard work. You appoint the best manager, not share us out like a toy at a children's party. It wasn't Crosby's 'go'. He didn't even talk to anyone else. He, rather arrogantly, assumed we had the best candidate already here, and he didn't need to bother even reading any CVs. A lot of Vale fans pointed out that this was both an awful process, and that Crosby probably wasn't up to it. We can't defend an appointment which so many average fans correctly saw as not good. Let's not put excuses in place for a massive mistake. Pressure is on him to undo his balls up with this next appointment.1 point
