New Pitch ?

Didn’t someone say Sexman had the grant and we can’t have another?  I’m sure I read or heard that somewhere.

What did he spend that on? Sex swing for the boardroom? Or steel shutters for the windows?

Autonet have the box, most likely as part of the stand/stadium sponsorship.  It does look like a boardroom in there, long table, fancy chairs.  We could well have been playing at the Autonet Stadium I guess but pretty sure Carol said at the time she wanted to keep it as Vale Park and retain the original names of the stands.  Someone will no doubt correct me if I’m wrong.

Donno is a local lad made good.  If you attend the Kidsgrove fixtures when they have the beer festival it’s highly likely he’s served you with a pint.

Derby played on Saturday in a full bloodied game against Bolton didn't seem to affect them, we had a day off this pitch criticism is getting an excuse.

At the supporters club meeting this evening comments were made regarding the pitch and CG said work would be done in the summer to improve the surface.  He didn’t say we’d be having a new pitch.  The gist of what he said in answer to several questions was basically that there is much to do in and around the stadium itself.  Read into that what you will but I took it to mean that there are numerous areas that require focus rather than just one (the pitch).  Upkeep alongside improvements around the ground.

Worth keeping in mind the Bycars - Hamil switch will require some investment, albeit probably not huge.  I did think the other night that as part of the swap maybe a new scoreboard will be required, given the existing one is knackered, to be relocated in one of the corners maybe?  Another chunk of cash eaten up if so.

I used play football with him and his brothers

He's standing when he took that you can see the goals when your sat down but if the ball goes to high in the air it disappears. That will be the first thing go when we swap ends

Re the pitch. At the SC meeting last night Colin Garlick didn’t give any specific details but he said that they had had contractors in this week liking round the pitch so that sounded positive.

Pitch has never been amazing but I can’t remember it being this bad for such a length of time. Simple for me, that’s what happens when you get rid of a quality groundsman.
