Unless of course those “bad” decisions were intentional.

I have thought for a while now, and indeed have stated so on these very pages, that he intends liquidating the club. None of his decisions over the last 2/3 years have encouraged me to alter this opinion.

There will be no administration safety net this time as all of the alleged debt is to The Blue One. Then when that pesky football thing is out of the way he can do whatever he wants with the land.

Covenant I hear people cry ! But how long will that hold once there’s no team to play there ?

I agree with you RR.

I also have no idea what the legal implications are with land when it's under a covenant. If Vale did go out of business I can't imagine the council would let the whole area just rot and decline especially when there is such pressure for land to build houses etc. Wouldn't surprise me that the covenant/restrictions etc could be changed in a lawyers office with a stroke of a pen and an exchange of money in 5 seconds.

As Santa has said, I have no idea of his end game if he has one, just lets hope it doesn't end up in check-mate.

When we get rid of him, I would love for there to be a fans poll ascertaining the appetite for getting rid of the current badge and going back to the classic one.

This was brought in by Smurthwaite and his sidekick. Nu modern crap. It's a symbol of dereliction. A symbol of relegation and relegation battles. A symbol of Michael Brown. It's a symbol of lies to fans, arrogance, mismanagement, incompetence, tinpottery and abject failure. It's a symbol of Regino sodding Cecilia. It's the symbol of that ***** Smurthwaite's awful reign and what we've had to endure on and off the pitch.

When the fat controller has been chased out, let's go back to this and get the proper Vale back.

It's what we were wearing the last time we had any actual success, 6 years ago.

I like the old old badge but the current old badge less so.

Bring back the 70s badge with the bloke on a horse.

What badge was on the white shirt with black striped arms wasnt the most comfy but as a young lad wore it out...was it p v f c going diagonal in a line...eitherway when judas owner departs anything he has touched should be binned and if he aint living get in an exorcist too or set Molly lee on him

What people are calling the 'new badge' is in fact the old one; it's a version of the old Burslem coat of arms with a football added and the name of Port Vale replacing the Burslem motto 'Ready'. It was used until the late 70s; after a couple of alternatives including one designed by a local teenager the blue and yellow one was a Bill Bell creation dating from the mid 80s.

Personally I prefer the new/old one to the Bell version but perhaps there should be a poll of Vale fans?
