He,s not called Mad Gav for nothing.Nobody would touch him with a barge pole in the summer.Brown gave him a six month contract and really he wasn't a regular.Aspin came in gave him a chance and that's how he repays him.Wont lose any sleep as he can easily be replaced by a better player.

Would I have wanted to extend his contract? Yes, he's done well. Would I have broken the bank to get him? No, he's a solid pro, nothing more and nothing less. We need to reduce the size of the squad and if he doesn't want to be here, it's not the end of the world. As someone else said, I'd much rather the money went towards keeping Whitfield if possible.

There’s no loyalty in football, hence why I’m not surprised that he’s moving on. We can replace him so none of us should be worried.

More than likely the case. Done a decent job, but is more a short term fix than long term solution. Expect our offer reflected this, and if he can get better elsewhere then good luck to him,except when we are in opposition

He's a loser league 2 centre half in my opinion who will probably struggle at his next club and leave in the summer. Mad decision to leave.

He seemed a bit of a panic signing (one of many) during the summer but I liked him. Just a big, committed no-nonsense lump of a CB which is what's needed at this level.

It's not just the money, it's the length of contract that he's going to be offered. I'm disappointed he's going and ideally would have offered him another 6 months contract to keep him on his toes. However, I wouldn't want to keep him long-term and there's definitely better out there. Luckily, in Rudgie and Aspin, we have the best people to unearth a superior replacement.

I heard he was offered a new deal til the end of this season with us.
