I still can't see why players would "down tools". They have their own professional football careers to look out for

Why play badly for half a season because you don't like the manager and want him gone? Especially if they knew they'd probably be released anyway

I don't question the fact that he has ability. But he continuously takes far too long to get up to speed after being missing for X amount of games. As probably our top earner at the club I just don't think he offers enough all in all. I have little faith that he's capable of putting any kind of goal-scoring run together.

Personally I would keep Harrison and look to bring in two or three other strikers in the summer. I love Proctor but he won't and hasn't scored many goals at this level.

To be fair to Proctor he’s hardly played this season.

Sensible post. Players in League 1 have ‘made it’ in one of the most cutthroat work environments there is. People who down tools do not get this far in their careers.

Confidence plays a massive part in performance, and this is one of the things coaching/management is there for.

A little bit more confidence in the set up makes a huge difference to players. 

Vale seem to have managed this on Tuesday and today. I don’t know why, but it is not because players are trying harder, or previously not trying enough.

Still letting the relief of today's result wash over me.  Can't help but feel that league 2 will become more of a bear pit in coming years due to the financial clout of the teams coming up from the National League.  If we can recruit properly there is no reason why we cannot be a stable league 1 side for the next year or so before we look to push on.

Wilson is a conundrum.  Cold hard facts, 4 goals and one assist from, probably,  our highest paid player. Equally he's capable of the sublime. Big, big call someone will have to make.

head ruling heart.  He just doesn't turn up enough for me, but it all depends on what else is available for the money.
