  1. The goal Loft scored looked more difficult than the one he missed. Another few inches wider and it probably won’t have bounced yet… Brave having a go
  2. She’ll probably spend next season’s transfer budget on a statue of him
  3. Don’t give them ideas. Selling him to a “big club” will get Flitcroft a pay rise and a job for life. It’s one of Carol’s key indicators of success according to her open letter
  4. I just don’t get why she was so ruthless in sacking Clarke yet sticks by Flitcroft? Maybe there is enough of a degree of separation between him and the product on the pitch for him to gaslight her. If teams get bad results it’s the manager who gets the chop. There’s never a news article about how a DoF will be sacked. If he’s convincing her he’s actually doing ok, that he signed great players it’s just Clarke/Crosby/Moore who are not using them effectively, then she’s not going to sack him.
  5. As somebody on here said - after the promotion it almost felt “trendy” to go to Port Vale. Robbie Williams doing gigs and kit launches, lots of new faces at the Vale Park. My wife knowing players names and wanting to come to watch a League Cup first round match against Rotherham… Even the start of this season felt positive. Now it’s just back to rattling around in a stadium watching the same tripe we’ve largely had to endure at the end of the V2001 era. There are no real standout players you particularly care about - no Popes, Worralls, Scott Browns. Even the ones we have who used to stand out - Smith and Wilson - have gone crap. Loft I keep an eye on because I want him to score, but apart from that it’s a group of loanees and cast offs. Matches are becoming like watching football in a pub, where it’s more of an excuse to go for a beer and catch up with your friends. Hear a small cheer from the away end and our players collapsing in a heap, declare FFS under your breath and back to your conversation. I’ll still keep going of course - I like a chat with a bit of football 😁
  6. Maybe Carol, whilst fawning over how Flitcroft managed to borrow a few teenagers off some Premier League for a few months, gave him a massive long contract and now it’s too expensive to get rid of him? ”You loaned in a 18 year old from Tottenham for 3 months? I don’t know how you pull off deals like this. I don’t want to lose you. How would 5 years sound?”
  7. Got dicked 5-0 on Tuesday? Come to Vale Park and 3 points whilst your giving your defenders the afternoon off
  8. Is “relegation” in that <ovf censored>’s vocabulary yet?
  9. Ripley is one of the best keepers we’ve had since Goodlad (Chris Martin, Joe Anyon, Stuart Tomlinson anyone?) Plus I’ve noticed we seem to be really really good in the small patch of grass between the corner flag and the penalty area. We’ve got lots of players who work well there - skilful little runs, low passes into the box. Things that look really promising… …. and then we are absolute toss everywhere else. Nobody on the end of all this hard work in the corner to put it away and nobody to defend when the ball is given away. So hats off to Flitcroft for sorting out the “attacking winger” aspect of our team, but marks off for making everything else worse
  10. Played ok in the last match…. stopped the rot… some positives to build on… could win this one… last chance saloon. How many times this season have we thought this? It’s a very depressing Groundhog Day. We’ll be 0-1 down in the first 5 minutes and the cycle will begin again
  11. Sucker punch, defensive mix up, unmarked player tap in Orient goal due any time soon. Come on Vale
  12. All you naysayers just have to remember who brought in Gore from Man U and Williams from Liverpool. They’re massive clubs - how did Flitcroft pull off such deals? We may not have won in 2024, but you need to take the rough with the smooth
  13. You missed “community club of the year“
  14. Carol will be on the pitch with a microphone at half time. I can sense it. “Wheeeerrre arreree you? Let’s be having you”
  15. “Keep it tight at the back lads……oh” Flitcroft out
  16. Does Flitcroft give all managers a script to read as well? If you saw a transcript of all of the manger interviews over the last two seasons, with no manager’s name on it, you’d swear they were all said by the same person. Same old nonsense cliches - variations on bad day at the office, dig deep and go again, great squad of players etc etc etc. Not “all fur coat and no knickers” like Micky Adams so eloquently put it (or threats to transfer list them all.
  17. And we’ve not even given away the soft 90th minute goal(s) yet.
  18. If she’s so interested in the “community” aspects rather than the “buying a striker” aspects, the sad part is that nothing would improve the economy (community) like being in a higher league would. Thousands more people coming into Burslem and spending money in shops and pubs. Just for the general mood around the place as well. Everything about last night was thoroughly depressing. There’s more to life than football, but please help us to feel good on a Sunday/Wednesday morning
  19. It’s going to happen isn’t it? 19 years on
  20. How can we possibly sack Flickers? Who cares about the results and quality of our squad? All are irrelevant, small details This man loans in (teenage) players from Premier League teams (who are desperate to loan their players out. And he sold one of our (teenage) players to a (second bottom) Premier League team (who are hoovering up young teenage players and will likely loan him out again). That is the sign of a great DoF. We are truly not worthy.
  21. To throw away a two goal lead in the last 5 minutes at home to a team 23rd in the league is absolutely unforgivable. Absolutely spineless. We are truly <ovf censored>. I’m only surprised we didn’t lose it right at the end
  22. Loft threatening the keeper’s water bottle when clean through
