On paper probably the easiest of our remaining fixtures, even though no game is easy and we’ve got the ability to be our own worst enemy. I don’t believe we’ve pressed the self destruct button just yet. Wilson is obviously our best player and should start again, with Worrall in the starting line up. At least Worrall can cross and pass the ball to a players feet, unlike those yesterday.

On paper and looking at league positions--Cambridge & Accrington were two of our 'easiest' on paper fixtures!!!!!

McDermott

Harrison Proctor

McDermott scored two and set up a third yesterday, btw.

We should have him back

Ojo missing and probably no goalkeeper on bench so lets have McDermott

Then give him a go if we are failing again.

Agree with rest of team. We cannot change back three. Midfield has experience, no goals but experience, will be Butterworth or Politic, again and up front Harrison has scored more than anyone. Wilson still looks way off. We need Proctor to be a nuisance up front

What I’d give for that same passion from those players that night right now, hall, smith, Gibbo, Harratt, Garrity, Worrall …. Everyone up for it. We’ve really missed some kind of spark and passion this season. We seem flat. Let’s hope we can find something on Monday.

I  think the calls for McDermott to play are wide of the mark, I don’t think he’s the man to throw into these last few games. He’ll get eaten alive against some of the teams we’ll be playing, too inexperienced and he didn’t exactly set the world alight early season. The only reasons people are asking for him is because we’ve been playing <ovf censored> and he’s been doing something at a lower level.

What i'd give for just 15 games this season from James Gibbons, assuming he was injured for the rest. He wasnt a D.C. player and he and Flitcroft said no to his extra pay request. He was on peanuts to start and he didnt want to go. We have missed his 15 games this season !!!!

I can't see Clarke deviating from 352 or 343. What worries me about the 343 is the midfield 2. Not sure they'll dominate the game.

I feel like I'm really clutching at straws but maybe a 433 when attacking, 451 when defending?

Wozza          Harrison/Wilson          Dennis

At least the players are playing in their natural positions (apart from Sammy - but not reall sure what his position is) and also may be more difficult to break down.

As for Oxford, either a player or fan, I'd love be playing Vale at the moment. We are there for the taking. Let's just hope turn up!

Hmmm that’s got me thinking. DC and Flitcroft forcing out players who aren’t theirs. Wonder if there’s anything in that. Anyway, I’m certain he played a lot more than 15 games last season, but I don’t know about you, if I wore the shirt I’d like to think I would be running through a wall for the team too. Which always make me wonder why everyone cant put in the same shift, but then again maybe that affinity only comes from local players.

I agree it's important to get Worrall playing and in an attacking area - not wing back. We are not good enough defensively and should overload the attack. But also defend from the front.

There is an issue about height again. If we are too small there is a case for Proctor.

That's what I would go with but - and please correct me if I'm wrong - but have Wilson and Harrison been on the pitch at the same time since they came back ?
I wonder if there was any truth in the fighting rumour ?
Either way we need our best available 11 to start so they should both be on for me.
