Match Thread: Port Vale v Oxford United

The fixtures are favourable today with all the bottom and near bottom clubs facing difficult games. For example Sheffield Wednesday in third will feel they must beat Accrington at home. With Lincoln away next week, safety is there for us to take. Aside from concerns about confidence we need fighting spirit and players on the pitch who will show that. 1-0 will do.

Game by game each match becomes as important as the Wembley play off final......it will secure our League One status. It is far easier for everyone to unite and back the players no matter what for the next six games then do it all over again next season for 46 matches.....which gets me thinking, where would our current squad finish in league Two? Probably outside the top 7.

Tonights game is so important.

It's a 3pm kick-off.

Win today and we play league 1 football next season and can enjoy our last away game in London and Plymouth at home on the next Bank Holiday.

Lose and we are facing the prospect of Barrow, Harrogate and Crawley. !

Today feels more important than Easter Monday Last season. !!

I think it can be definitely 'Do' if we win. We will be safe!

If we lose, we still have other chances (5 games) to pick up more points.

However, 'many' see this as the best chance to secure our League 1 status simply because of Oxford's poor league position.

Therefore, I like many, see today as our chance to secure our League 1 status and then get this season out of the way. Start afresh in the summer.

But unbeaten in the last 3, tightened their defence or playing for draws?

Play anything like the last few home performances then an other spanking on the cards. We HAVE to stop the rot some how a draw would be more than acceptable as I just can’t see where the next one is coming from. How have we descended into this situation is beyond me. I cannot believe what I have witnessed in the last few home games.
