Hopefully a rhetorical question. Heavier grounds they aren't great but functional. Fast hard pitches in August I think they'd both struggle.

 

The other option could be Dodds.

This pair hadn't got the legs last year and neither has Kay. I live on the Wirral and know Tranmere well having watched loads of games there over the last 30+ years with my friends. Pugh, Tonge and Kay on that pitch will be a catastrophe. It is about the ability to dart over short spaces and to close down. None of these players can deliver that.

the tranmere pitch is about 2 yards shoter and 2 yards narrower than vale ppark, does that really make that much difference or is it just a perception of being small because the stands are closer?

Managers confirmed Manny is out for this game, so I guess we'll be seeing Kay keep his place alongside Joyce, unless or Pugh Tonge comes in to the squad.

If Montano is available then I would put Hannant in central midfield instead of Manny who looks to be out for a spell.

If we think us Vale fans are negative and downtrodden then Carlisle fans are top of the league for it.

On the site I go on for League 2 the general consensus is that we need to take the game to them as they are brittle.

Think one Carlisle fan has called it as 1-1, the rest are going away win.

Apparently Gerrard is as slow as you can get at the back and they are all saying that the win at Cheltenham was fortuitous.

Makes coming on here feel like a joy.

Amazing to think that I can probably only name three refs in our league off the top of my head and we’ve had all of them within the first five games. Trevor Kettle, Rob Lewis and Ben Toner. We never seem to win with any of them although a win v Cambridge this season with Kettle so let’s hope our run with another ends at Carlisle

Perhaps we should use the same ‘alleged’ reason for him being removed from a Blackpool game last year as their Bent Owner was our owner’s mentor.

You never know. If we can defend like we did at the weekend and not concede early doors, we might be better suited to hitting them on the break - if Miller studies the off-side rule on the coach!
