  1. What is the point? Some players will leave, some will stay and we will bring new players in. If we make a scene it won't encourage the ones who stay, won't help with recruitment and the ones who leave won't have a favourable impression of Port Vale to pass on. None of the players have deliberately got us relegated. Carol is aware that things haven't gone to plan and there is no need to rub it in. I have decided just to not go but not make a fuss about it. Up the Vale! 🤠

  2. I've thought that for the last 3 windows!!! Got to be right one day, hopefully

  3. Spot on. I still think back fondly to players like David Healy and Chris Killen and earlier still Neville Southall who graced the Vale shirt on loan.

  5. Very valid point this. If they do put in the effort will stay until the end. Have no intention of personally doing anything to the detriment of my club.

  6. Reading to liquidate, Cambridge to field 2 ineligibles, Fleetwood and Stevenage win, one of those teams forfeit their ground lease so they’re auto relegated under league rules, Bolton lend us some points for selling them our only defender for magic beans, and perhaps the hardest part to secure … a Vale win. Last chance saloon this.

  7. I don't agree, and would say that is a very sad indictment in how the club has been run since the 1990s because we've spent the overwhelming majority of our history well above L2. 41 seasons in the Championship, 46 in L1.

  8. Realistically we are a similar size, working class club like Tranmere and unfortunately a lot of the great old industrial clubs like Oldham, Bury, Walsall, Bradford etc have been doomed due to the fact that there is no working class anymore. The days of everyone finishing a shift and going as a workplace to the football are totally alien concepts. The only reason Wrexham have been saved from a similar fate is due to all the money thrown at them. They had suffered it over the past 10 years or so beforehand. Getting into league 1 is a good achievement for us. I do think we are still capable of spending a decade at that level but doing so in the Championship which give or take is what we did in the 90s will be impossible.

  9. In the Championship this season there have been 20 managerial changes. The teams placed first to tenth are still with the same manager they started the season with. The other 14 clubs have done the 20 managerial changes. Birmingham changed manager when in sixth place and are now in the relegation zone. So much for new manager bounce eh? For the record Huddersfield were 21st when Darren Moore left and are now in 23rd place. Terriertalk is clinically braindead.

  10. I would agree with that. I have a feeling we'll lose at least one of Garrity and Chislett myself.

  11. Good luck to him and wherever he goes may he be pronounced Sproson style as Arberlaster...

  12. Bloody hell - he should be shot at dawn for that. 🤪

  13. It was a pleasure to see him in a Vale shirt and I hope he remembers us as much as we will remember him.

  14. What a game tonight for the blaster, first half the season with the mighty valiants and now leading Sheff Utd out as captain at the theatre of dreams! Looking forward watching him live again tonight, well done Ollie! UTV

  15. Bob Hazell was a kitten off the pitch. Not sure I would have wanted to upset him all the same.

  16. As much as I enjoyed watching Arblaster and as good a player as he is, my vote for player of the season would go to Chislett.

  17. Cambridge have sold 1150 tickets so we'll make a few bob out of them!

  18. For the first time ever, I'm actually going to disagree with you. Going on from what Darren Moore said to the sponsors on Monday and his pre-match interview yesterday. I think that their is going to be some big changes to put this avoidable mess right. My guess is that the first thing that he will do, will be to release every single player out of contract. It's the easiest thing to sort out first to make some room. Plus, none of them have performed for us over the past 12/18 months. So, no bother at all in letting them go. I include the reserve keeper in that too because I'm not sure if it is a good thing to have someone on the bench that know's he's not going play and also think that affects the goalkeeper that is playing because he know's that he's got no competition. I also think that their maybe 1 or 2 surprises when it come's player's under contract. It's going to be a very interesting retain list next week.

  19. Which just shows how bad the rest of the team were...

  20. As much as I absolutely loved seeing Arblaster in a Vale shirt, there no way he’s player of the season for me. I agree it’s either Ben or Chizzy. I’d lean towards Ethan. He’s the sort of player that will drift in & out of games but his goals & assists return for this season edges it

  21. All season teams have doubled up on our left and right backs /wing backs and that’s 50% of reason why we went down . Every team knew it was open season around the edges , they addressed it and we never did . It harsh as the only person under the bus for this Is Flitcroft as everyone who plays football knows fullbacks are probably the most important position on the pitch.

  23. We done well with that then. Oh, wait a minute...........

  24. That was my first thought, but on reflection, I think that would be very disrespectful to Ben and Chis, who both got double figures from midfield in a very poor team. Chis also got ( I think) 7 assists. If only we had 1 striker who could match those figures.

  25. So what are you saying all the managers who played him are wrong ? Been going to Vale since 1969 and watched them on 86 grounds but I also have mates/relations who are Stoke fans if that's ok with you. It is a forum and you are allowed a opinion and so am I about the crap you post.

  26. Sang is a serial ball watcher whose lack of pace and defensive awareness has cost a goal a game over recent weeks. Opposition managers target him every week as the weakest link in our defence. His only contribution in the other half seems to be to lob a sort of cross field chip from just past the halfway line down the centre halves throat. Sang is in my opinion one of our worst performers of the season. The fact that he replaced Dave Worral says it all about Flitcroft’s transfer policy.

  29. Smith as been poor this season in a lot of games. Not just him and only a few come out with any credit. But you constantly berate him and you can barely write a post without mentioning him, it's obsessive. He did not make himself captain. Played 400 games under different managers who just may know there football a tad better than you. Folk actually find you funny, laughing at you not with you.

  31. One of the very few highlights of our season was seeing Ollie in a Vale shirt, having such a tremendous influence on games. Undoubtedly our player of the season!

  32. I know the season has been bad but everyone jizzing over arblaster is getting a bit OTT. But I accept it’s probably because most of the team have been bad. Having said that I agree with your point that it’s either Ben or chislett for player of the season.

  33. I think our retained list will be released quite quickly once the season is done and dusted

  34. Feel the same. Won two out of 17 matches. Not too much of an ask to win four then we would have stayed up.

  35. The players haven't got the bottle to walk around the pitch and face the wrath of the supporters surely??

  36. It would if everybody did the same. Walking off the pitch in an empty ground.

  37. He should have cut his toenails on Sunday. It was that close. They can draw all the lines they want , but Coventry were robbed. VAR is a joke.

  38. You do all the time. Your form is to slag off Smith all the time and to big up Uche all the time

  39. The players haven’t been good enough, but I think the booing should be more directed at the people responsible for putting this shitshow together (I know flitcroft has gone). I think you’re over egging it by saying he’s been a major contributor. He’s been part of it, but there’s been so many things that have happened this season with loads of players out of form, mistakes galore, managers constantly changing line ups and formations, the club not adding good enough players to the squad. We’ve been unsettled all season. But to pick smith out as a major contributing factor is wrong IMO. Remember when you said smith threw Vale games because he’s a Stoke fan? Well that post you’ve just put is up there with that in terms as one of the most stupid and ridiculous things I’ve read on here. How do you get on in day to day life if you come across a stoke fan?

  40. Wow, I think you’ll find that pretty much would disqualify the majority of our support. Particularly those like me who grew up in very Stoke dominated parts of the area. How narrow minded.

  41. I reckon a full season in the Championship in a team who will possibly top 7 next season, and then he'll move on . I'm not going predict a Liverpool, Spurs type move but I'm sure in 18 months time he'll be a regular in a Premier league side. Could see him at Brentford or Brighton. Think our owners were possible guests of the Arblaster family last night. Pics of them in the stadium.

  42. I know the st prices have been frozen, but I personally think , given relegation, they should have been reduced even if it was just a token gesture of 10 or 20 quid.

  44. It's not Darren's fault . Lol I think you find it is. He chooses the players the formation(its a one not a variety maybe 2 at most in his time here ) Love the optimism but unless we bring in winners and move on losers we will continue to plummet . Not been negative just saying what I see . My opinion should not have sacked Crosby after transfer window . It was ludicrous and its was too late to change anything . Let's face it overall Crosby did a better job than Moore the last time I saw Vale score bar Exeter was v Charlton, and if I'm.going go over games overall performances Crosby got more out of the players than Moore did to be honest apart from Bristol Rovers game and first half v Exeter the overall application desire and will to win was worse under Moore and it resulted in not just a relegation it resulted in a embarrassing tame effort to stay in league on observation. It's gone now but crikey I never thought DM would be a poor a man motivator as what he is Who has improved under him ? Walters and Dipepa were already getting better because of Crosby . Chislett played better under Crosby. Garrity played better under Crosby . Most of the others are at best average, to mediocre and they didn't play well for either. So explain to me with a lot of them still in contract how players with a losing mentality and no way of showing any way of breaking that habit are going to all of a sudden be world beaters I think not

  45. All of those mentioned, apart from Sang, are on over 2k a week. Somehow we’ve got to ship them out. To have players who can’t cut it in league 2, on 2k plus a week, is a recipe for disaster. Thankyou Mr. Flitcroft and Thankyou Mrs Shanahan for this total mess. She has a hell of a summer rebuild because of her inability to keep her eye on the ball. It is what it is.

  46. The strange /disappointing aspect is that as a player he was horrible. I'd of hated to be a centre forward against him. Yet he's mild mannered and looks incapable of handing out any sort of rollicking at all. Very very underwhelming.
