  1. Anyone who claps the players off after this season needs to check themselves into the nearest insane asylum. "You're not fit to wear the shirt" should be sung loud and proud from minute 1 to 90

  2. I wish people would stop rewriting history. Matty Taylor was getting pelters on here during his spell with us. No one wanted to sign him! Why are people now saying we should have?! Sent from my SM-G981B using onevalefan mobile app

  3. Mathematically yes they can but they are playing the Vale, so they are safe.

  4. Back to L2 prep. Ditch the Spanish holiday and have more meaningful friendlies. I feel that we have been totally unprepared for the last two seasons with stupid friendlies, I think we only played Doncaster last year that was of any use. It has been a complete shambles. Start with 'easy' pre season friendlies and ensure that they get progressively harder.

  5. What a game tonight for the blaster, first half the season with the mighty valiants and now leading Sheff Utd out as captain at the theatre of dreams! Looking forward watching him live again tonight, well done Ollie! UTV

  7. To be fair I'm amazed we haven't finished bottom having witnessed the performances on offer this season. I have seen many relegations but never on this scale of expected disappointments from this team. An absolutely dreadful season after all the noises off the pitch indicating otherwise. 8. One of the very few highlights of our season was seeing Ollie in a Vale shirt, having such a tremendous influence on games. Undoubtedly our player of the season!

  9. The retained list is going to be a real mark of whether this club and those in charge thereof have regained their senses after 2 seasons that have demoralised the fans this badly. Only once we know who's left, will we know what sort of a season we're going to have next year.

  11. As funny as that would certainly be looking at the fixtures they’re playing Colchester. A draw for Crewe seals playoffs and a draw for Colchester ensures survival. Basically the ball isn’t going to leave the centre circle.

  12. Agreed on the lineup. I just don’t want to see that bunch of losers we have for so called senior pro’s any more. Certainly none of the loanees should be involved either, just send them all back now. Give the young lads a chance to show what they can do. At least you know they’ll care.

  13. this has to be the biggest dead rubber in history. would like to see the younger players played and leutwiler in goal. the rest can hang their heads in shame bar 2 or 3. mass clearout and a decent striker in the summer please. ill be watching and waiting this time before paying for a season ticket because this season has been unnaceptable to the point i didnt want to go watch the games. I also want to see a fans forum asap with the leadership fronting this season up. its very easy to sit in front of 200 fans when youre doing well. now is the time to repair the damage that has been done. that is all. roll on full time.

  14. They rested players for their upcoming play off campaign. Match fixing mad you are.

  15. Yeah agree. Another area we've not been sensible in. It's pretty standard to play teams "weaker than you" (Newcastle Town etc) so work on your forward play, then play teams "stronger than you" (ie Champ/Prem) to work on your defensive play, then play some teams at a similar level to put it all together. Back to basics!

  16. Will be nonsense. No fight in this group of players. we've seen that for 8 months.

  17. Our best chance of a win is if Cambridge rest a few players and play Jack Stevens in goal. My Prediction: Port Vale 1-0 Cambridge Utd Stevens OG

  18. It was a pleasure to see him in a Vale shirt and I hope he remembers us as much as we will remember him.

  19. I think Garrity deserves a massive round of applause from the fans, need to sing his song throughout and at the end of the match.

  21. The galling thing about this particular relegation is that Vale only needed one of our strikers to get another ca 4-6 goals or have signed a Matty Taylor like striker who could well have done the same and those few ca 4-6 goals could have well translated into another 6-10 points and Vale could well be safe now or at least have a chance of safety in the last match. It's likely that 2 or 3 Clubs are going to stay up with less than 50 points. Matty Taylor scored 4 in 14 for us last season, has scored 6 in 12 for Cheltenham this season, why on earth did Vale not sign him in 2023/24, lots of Vale fans including me hoped the club would sign him for these very reasons. As long as the legs are still there then natural goal scoring ability trumps age any day.

  22. I can’t see on what possible grounds anyone could argue to keep Uche. Let’s be honest he’s brings very little to us. Being unable to play more than 60 minutes a game doesn’t speak to being a professional either. Don’t tell me that was due to injury either, that was a shoulder he hurt. Nothing was stopping him doing some cardio on a exercise bike at the least.

  23. Please god no TJ he's blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes,we need better Than uche, there's got to be someone out there who can hit the net 🥅

  24. If the players don't turn up then they need to be gone straight away. Don't they realise this is the very last chance for them to say boss I could make it in Div 2. Please don't get rid of me. But no doubt most of them wont take this chance and still make the silly individual errors.

  25. I think once you walk away it is difficult to come back. I have seen quite a few people who have given up their season tickets and most of them haven't been since.

  26. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is thinking long and hard about whether to renew their season ticket. My hope is we will somehow shift a chunk of the under contract players who clearly don’t want to be here (Loft, Ojo, et al) and Moore brings in some exciting new players. But I can’t justify the money to watch the same players, with the same manager, and the same tactics… it’s just miserable at the moment. I’d like to know how the optimistic fans are expecting anything other than another relegation battle with this lot? Just because the opposition is “easier” in League Two? Think I need a year off. Then we might have a whole new squad of players who might stay fit for half a dozen games, players that actually want to play for the shirt, and a manager with some tactical nous and shows a bit of bloody passion!

  27. This whole ‘we cant blame moore’ and ‘even pep couldnt have done better with this lot’ is just ridiculous. If thats the case, why did sack a manager and replace him with Moore on triple his wages and a five year deal? If any manager could make a difference, why waste the money? Truth is, we spent all that money and we wouldnt be worse off if we had left the academy lads in charge, and id hazard a guess wed probably be better off. He was paid to come in and do a job, and he failed miserably. It looks like he will have a chance to rectify things next season. Im not overly confident in his ability to do so, but hopefully we will have a budget to make that easier, because he doesnt have a record of being a miracle worker with small budgets.

  31. We need a total clear out after the most disgusting season I have ever seen, no fitness no passion and worst of all no fight. weve had poor teams before but always battled and fought. We had so many chances to escape the drop but nobody seemed to care .the 4th division is a hard slog ,you need guts and fight ,when this season have we seen a full bloodied tackle or getting in the opposition faces .we rolled over .

  32. Then those upstairs and on the pitch will never know how you really feel. They'll just think you've got something else on. No wonder Carol couldn't believe what Dicko and mark porter told her about how angry and deflated the fan base was in the meeting they had. She's got no clue cause no one can be bothered to voice it.

  34. Considering the home crowd in recent weeks I suspect the drop-off will be more than 20% after the 18 months of utter tripe we've had to endure. I won't be renewing. Prefer to have a membership so I can pick and choose my games a little more. Too many games were moved to Tuesday nights for my liking. How many times have we actually played at home on a Saturday this season? Edit. It'll be 13 3pm Saturday home fixtures out of 23.

  37. There should be some sort of rule for preventing teams blatantly ruining the competitive edge of the league in the latter games. Didn't Bristol Rovers go up with exactly the required score line, beating Scunny about 314-0 on the last day? Not sure what the rule would be / policing, but it's becoming more of an issue.

  38. We keep going around in circles here. We don't know whether Darren Moore is the guy for us or not, so we have to find out. As I've said before, he should have the minimum of one transfer window and the first few months of the next Season to prove himself. Then we can all make informed comments and the Owners can make an informed decision, based on real data, as to how to proceed in League 2, ie. with him or not. This in itself will be a major improvement on recent decision making... So let's see where we are in the New Year.

  39. Cambridge are not safe. They can be relegated on Saturday. See above.

  40. Cheltenham and DC hoping we can do them a favor by beating Cambridge! Sorry don't hold your breath Daz!

  41. Exactly right. He was total pants from January onwards last season and he basically started the season with us looking like he could not be arsed at all. What is this fascination with ex players? Let's see if Andy Jones can still kick a ball
    2 points
  42. We have most definitely missed him. He was decent for us.
    2 points
  43. Felt at the time he was harshly criticised when with us. Yeah he missed a few but still had a goal output Uche and Loft combined couldn’t get close to. Suppose Burton could still go down and for the away day that’d be the preferable one. If Wycombe score now things get really interesting.

  44. Surely, we can get two strikers out of that?

  45. Talking about non-league players, not sure if he's been mentioned on here but Maidenhead Utd's Reece Smith seems to be one hell of a prospect. 21 years old Left sided attacking midfielder 40 appearances this season 11 Assists Would fit well in the RWB position 🤣

  46. The result doesn't matter on Saturday, I'd rather us put out the youth team on Saturday and lose than watch the same half arsed players make the same mistakes over and over again and lose. I'd play Ripley smith chislett garrity and the rest of the young lads. I don't know where some of them play but Walters, shorrock, plant, buah, brazier and Di pepa. I wouldn't bother playing any of Jones, lowe, lacovitti, grant, ojo, ikpeazu,Massey, sang and loft as they have had more than enough chances and just put in the same crap can't be arsed performances. Play as many youngsters as we can as I will get more enjoyment in watching them lose than the same bog standard players. I will predict 3 1 to Cambridge.

  47. I think one of the first tests will be his retained list. If anyone is offered a contract, like Uche or Massey, then it'll set alarm bells ringing. Maybe he thinks Wynne will b good enough, but any that have been playing should be leaving. I'm hoping every chance he gets he'll be bringing in better players that play specific roles. If he is stuck with some he can't get rid of, then he'll have to maximise the other spaces.

  48. I'd get foyle in as head of recruitment with no director of football. At least he knows what the club means and understands the fans and local area.
