Let's be honest, we deserve to go down. This league is the weakest it's been for years, and we're one of the weakest out of an incredibly weak lower half. The fact that, after 40 games with less than a point per game, we still have a chance of staying up, says it all really. I'll be renewing our season tickets now DF has gone, regardless of which league we're in, but lessons must be learned from the previous three transfer windows if next season is to be significantly better than this one. UTV!

If the players are tired from Friday then they are in the wrong profession !

We will beat Wigan on Saturday and then Exeter the following week

A couple of weeks we were dead and buried. The Burton game gave me hope. The Bristol Rovers game gave me belief. If we win today, I’ll have expectation! Football, I blinkin’ love / hate (delete where appropriate at 4:45) it!

We did enough to miss plenty of opportunities to either bury the ball in the back of the net or make a simple pass to a better placed player. Chislett, Uche, Garrity, Smith should all be scoring.

Sell Baylee for £5m and loan him back for next season. Simples.

This tiredness malarkey is making me unnecessarily angry 😠. We strolled to a win on Friday against a team who simply weren't at the races. It's not like we expended all our energy in a 4-3 nail biter. A really poor excuse if Moore has said that. We even had the luxury of subbing a sub on Friday to save him for today. An easier win we couldn't of hoped for.

It's the same for literally every other team. Pìss poor excuse.

face it. this team is awful and would struggle in league 2. absolutely depressing to think most of these players are contracted next season. i for one wont be watching them.

Why did we go away from the basics of clearing the ball and playing the %’s? Pissed around with the ball at the back with pointless possession, no tempo or urgency, pedestrian passing, clueless in the final 3rd, wasteful in front of goal and gave the easiest goals away. Basically we revert back to Crosby style. Disappointing to say the least. Not one player can hold their head up today with that performance. It’s as if some of them think they are good players all of a sudden because they won a game. Darren, Please remind them why the team successful in the previous 2 games and what got them in the bottom 4. Connor, Stay in your box!

I think we are done now, not a lack of effort it just as a team we are not very good . we playing a right winger at left wing back , a central midfielder at right back and have 3 strikers who could not score in a brothel. The F word has delivered the most unbalanced squad I think I have seen at vale , yet throw 2 LWB , 2 average strikers into the squad and play players in there positions we would not be in relegation mix . This season has been football self harm inflicted by the DOF and the club , no one to blame but ourselves

The Sun also thinks based on their recent articles that Robbie is going to buy the club and Patrick Shanahan has turned Vale into a powerhouse for developing youth players.

Away games are not the place for the likes of Dipepa, Shorrock etc. A step too far. He's doing fine but to be putting our hopes on a 17 year old again points to recruitment.

Players who are League One standard: Garrity, Ripley, Wilson (but made of glass), Chislett. Players who aren’t League One standard: Smith, Ojo, Plant (but he’s never played in his position), Clark (never fit). Players who aren’t League Two standard: Loft, Debrah, Yak, Sang, Jones, Leutwiler Players who aren’t NW Counties standard: Grant, Massey, Uche, Lowe Can’t grade Dipepa, Shorrock and Walters because they should be playing with their own age groups. Haven’t included the loans albeit most are trending to the bottom two groups. An utterly dreadful squad of “footballers”.

I don’t get the attitude that things are positive because of other teams results. We lost ourselves. That game was a perfect opportunity to get a point at least.

It’s not all doom & gloom just yet guys. Plenty of points to play for still with a few twists & turns to come. It’s our remaining home fixtures that will count. All must win

Today was a tough one. Northampton are very good at home - that’s their 10th win. It’s 2 of us, Cheltenham, and Burton joining Fleetwood and Carlisle. Incredibly, we’re in the best form of the 3. Cheltenham have 1 win in 9. Awful form Burton look done. No wins in 9. Vale - 7 points from 15, 3 clean sheets in 5. A loss today in which we’ve had the best chances with Uche and Chislett at a side very good at home. Both goals on the break via mistakes. We’re a significantly better side than we were a few weeks ago. Burton and Cheltenham need to turn around absolutely honking form, whilst if we perform as we are, we will probably pick up 2-3 more wins. Dunno. Bang in it, aren’t we?

At 17 and being selected ahead of any other forward for England, that is a clear indication he’s becoming the considered one of the best striker in the country for his age. Being picked ahead of premier league youth players… What we should be saying is what clubs aren’t looking at him, you’d have to think most premier league clubs will be taking a look. It’s great press for the club and a massive positive for the continued youth production line we’ve been churning out. Keep smashing it BP, lovely being linked to the likes of United.

Northampton were in bottom 4 for form prior to today !

I'm trying not to be a killjoy but rather I'm preparing myself for the inevitable. We have won 2 in our last 17 league games. Suddenly people expect us to win 4 homes in a row when we have one of the worst home records in the division. The hope kills you. Can't wait for it to be all over .

He's only 22 and come from non-League so presumably he has more potential to improve than those on Walka's canned list

Played quite well until they scored against the run of play, then we were pretty naff. Can’t get my head round the substitutions, taking Chislett off who’d had more goal attempts than anyone on the pitch. Brings a defensive midfielder on for one of our strikers with 17 minutes to go when 1-0 down. It’s like Moore was resting our players.

With only 6 games left we have to win all our remaining home games & I feel nick a point at either Wigan, posh or Bolton. Not easy tasks at all those away fixtures but Wigan prob the most realistic

It’s a one game season mentality. Throw this game away now. Couple of corrections for DM to think about on the first goal for them but other than that move on to Wigan now. Win that and it’s a different conversation again.

On a final note, I really don’t think we were that poor today. Daft goal in the last minute when everyone was forward aside, we didn’t really concede many chances and had enough to probably get a point at least. They’ve won 10/21 at home and are a really decent side with three strong centre halves and nice attackers like Hoskins and Pinnock. I don’t think we were significantly worse than we were against Burton, just against a better side. Go again Saturday.

It says it all that the 3 sides in the relegation dogfight with us have beaten us. Carlisle 93rd minute winner. Fleetwood 93rd minute equaliser at home after a 3-0 dicking away. Losing to Cheltenham from a winning postion, twice. At least we saved some money in January though, eh. Penny wise pound foolish.

Just feel the fact Cheltenham have a game in hand plus Carlisle and Burton to play makes the great escape highly unlikely. Burton Vale Fleetwood Carlisle. Today hasn't defined the season but Shrewsbury and Cheltenham doing the double over us and the 2-2 v Fleetwood certainly has.

Bottled it. Not good enough. If Burton and Cheltenham hadn't thrown away leads and ended up losing I'd think that was it and we'd be down. MUST beat Wigan.
