  1. Going down with a whimper sadly! This is going to set the club back years. All the good will and support built up over the past few years lost!

  2. The fans are the ones that pay the wages . There is a lot that they can do. If Carol Shanahan , with all due respect, is on her high horse and stands by Flitcroft next season , there’s a problem. She’s a smart business woman , and fair play to her for achieving what she has , but if she talks down to the fans / community like a schoolteacher, there’s a problem. It seems that there is already a divide there. I don’t expect the club to tell us everything , but right now the fans are being treated badly, and it’s going to get worse next season. When we get relegated , Vale won’t be back in League One for a good few years , in my opinion. Darren Moore and Flitcroft are joined at the hip , and Carol Shanahan thinks Flitcroft can do no wrong. That kind of stubbornness , and not wanting to be proved wrong, can only lead to disaster. I’m a long way from Burslem, and my opinion doesn’t hold as much water as many on here , particularly those who go home and away for years, but I can see this ending very badly for Port Vale. It’s toxic both on and off the pitch at the moment , and if something isn’t done , we’ll find ourselves in the National League before long. That may seem impossible , but no club has a divine right to say where they should be . They have to earn it. The work ethic of this current side wouldn’t earn them a job in a butchers shop , yet alone another club. It’s disgraceful, and a slap in the face to the fans. How they can go home with a wage packet and hold their heads up is beyond me. I wonder what Roy Sproson would think ? A true servant , like many others. Sorry for the long ramble , but I’ve never seen the club like this in my 55 years following the Vale. Sometimes it only takes one bad apple , and that’s Flitcroft. Spunk Trumpet is spot on in his posts . Flitcroft is a narcissist, and I fear he will take the club down with him . Then he’ll go back to the family business, and we’ll be left with the crumbs of a football club. I sincerely hope that I’m proved wrong. VTID

  3. Exactly how I feel, the performances under Crosby were not as bad as these last few games. Moore has had players coming back from Injury as well, but he just seems at a loss with the whole situation. Last week our owner stated after the Lincoln Match that the Players are Phenomenal and We will be fine. How can any Fan explain that, Please Tell Me ! At least under Michael Brown, we showed some Fight but this Current Lot don’t even seem to be bothered.

  4. I try to remain positive but how anybody could clap that embaressment of a performance is beyond me. I'm not someone who is going to get angry and aggressive at our own players but i did boo the performance as it was completely unacceptable on every level. But surely you cant applaud it. That assumes there was plenty of effort there which there just wasnt today. First time under Darren Moore I have said that too. You just leave quietly. I mean what were you actually applauding the few who did. That they turned up for the coach on time and managed to put their kit on correctly? Genuinely would like to know.

  5. Staying up would be a miracle. We need 2 wins just to go level on points with those above us. We can’t get one win even against those around us! To stay up we probably need 6-7 wins…not happening. We will finish 2nd bottom as Fleetwood will make a fight of it. Would love to get out of it but our lot can’t stomach the fight. Our “be nice” profile has bitten us on the arse.

  6. Fans will vote with their feet, the longer she backs Flitcroft the more it will hit her financially. Gates of 3,000 home fans next season will see us struggle and may well force her in to selling the club (not what I want). The longer Flitcroft stays the further the club will sink.

  7. Those that stayed and clapped off the team yesterday did it to thank the players for turning up for the coach on time, getting themselves dressed and running on the pitch for the warm up. It cannot be for anything that happened once the match started !! To a man the performance was shocking.

  8. How you applaud that week in week out, is beyond belief. Some of those players are picking up 8 thousand pound a month. So sadly, that is the definition of a “happy clapper”. Nobody claps angrily. And if you clap even though you’re not happy then you’re robotic and accept the utter crap you’re given week in week out. By clapping these robbing useless clowns on the pitch, and the club in general, you will never get the change we so desperately need. These performances are not acceptable.

  9. I went. I tell you what, when I got to the ground I actually felt positive. Not for the game, but for the fact that we have got great fans really. We can give ourselves a raw deal sometimes, slag each other off for being negative same for happy clapping etc. But to take the numbers we did yesterday (and consistently take everywhere really) on the run we're on, with the team we've got, to a fixture where the result was a formality and the club in the state its in was pretty bloody impressive. All the usual songs were out and everyone was behind the team from then pretty much until the second goal went in. The clubs bigger than anything we've got sitting in the office upstairs. It's imperative he goes sooner rather than later or I genuinely fear we could be the best supported club in the national league. But to answer your question Darren mate, I didn't notice anybody clapping. I left pretty sharpish on the full-time whistle and used the facilities before exiting. All I heard were boos, you're not fit to wear the shirt and David flitcroft get out of our club (which I wholeheartedly joined in with). Each to their own, but how even the happiest of clappers could clap that yesterday i cannot comprehend.

  10. Scraped a win at Mansfield? I thought it was the best performance of the season looked a league above them. Unfortunately they will more than likely be a league above us.I agree with the rest of what you said [emoji106] Sent from my SM-A505FN using onevalefan mobile app

  14. we deserved everything we got in those games under crosby. after the barnsley debacle we had an unbelievably lucky run of sendings off and penalties . then when that dried up we were watching the real vale. as for the cup run that was another fluke as we played the lowest ranked side in every round and only just scraped a win at mansfield. the boro game was an absolute disaster and then soon as we lost arblaster and devine the team fell apart. crosby was and is no manager and we now have to get behind DM who is PROVEN at this level. if we are struggling its not because of him its down to the pi55 poor recruitment over the last 4 transfer windows and that is solely down to fraudcroft.

  15. I will say this and wait for the usual 'Chip on shoulder' remarks These players are an absolute disgrace and insult to the fans of Port Vale and most not even trying and no heart yet we hear they are on nearly 9k a month One poster commented on one thread how 'Modern football pros wouldn't put up with MA's style of management'...I don't think any manager should put up with footballers with no passion heart or fight. They are privilged to play for the mighty Port Vale and are insulting the fans with their lacklustre displays If it is true what you say (I would love to know how we can work out players wages or what the link of the source of information is) then these players need to GO...what an insult to the fans who pay for ST's and earn a fraction of these players

  21. Does Flitcroft give all managers a script to read as well? If you saw a transcript of all of the manger interviews over the last two seasons, with no manager’s name on it, you’d swear they were all said by the same person. Same old nonsense cliches - variations on bad day at the office, dig deep and go again, great squad of players etc etc etc. Not “all fur coat and no knickers” like Micky Adams so eloquently put it (or threats to transfer list them all.

  22. We're too passive and nice. Ought to be raucous united chanting v Shrewsbury against this charlatan. But there won't be. We'll have a corner, get all giddy, stand up if you love the Vale. Then spend the rest of the game apathetic before trudging out after another defeat.

  23. It’s not. You’re correct. It’s a waste of a wage though. Like most. 100% is the MINIMUM any footballer should give. That’s a given. Talent wise he ain’t worth half of that. And that lies with the DOF who has sanctioned these signings and wages.

  26. You can’t believe everything you read on the internet but I also hear other sources close to the club. This isn’t me calling anyone out. The information is out there. Our annual wage budget is around 3.2 million. Which would be about right considering we were mainly around the 2 to 2.5 million mark in league 2. Now breaking that down individually. Again the information is out there. Per week. Uche. 4500. Ojo. 4300. Grant. 3400. Massey. 3200. Loft. 2700. Iacovitti. 2500. Garrity. 2500. Ripley. 2400. Jones. 2400. Chisnall. 2300. Wilson. 2100. Lowe. 2100. Debrah. 2100. Clarke. 1900. Smith. 1900. Leutweilwer. 810. Plant. 510. Then there’s the kids and loanees. So the next time you say “just get behind the lads” it’s time to take a step back and get some perspective when you’re going work and not earning those figures in a month. I wouldn’t pay most of that lot with washers but that’s where the money has gone. That’s what the DOF has bought. That’s where Carols and the clubs money goes. Yet she defends the indefensible. Unbelievable.

  32. All the players have downed tools , except for Garrity and Ripley. We’re going down. The really sad part is that many of those excuses for footballers will be at the club next season.

  33. You’re asking him to polish a <ovf censored>. It’s an impossible job for Moore in reality and I feel for him having to bite his lip and not go in two footed on a few of them in his post-match. None of these are his players.
    2 points
  34. What do you expect him to do with the poor excuse of a squad he's been left? Your expectations are not on this planet What are you going on about now? And you long winded post, yet again, proves that you do not read anybody else's post and you do not engage with other people's posts because you are coming up with this drivel all the time. The players are bad. We have 2 centre backs that played non -league football last season and would not get into any other League One squads. The only player in our team that is League One standard or above is Ben Garrity and he will be gone at the end of the season. Our fantastic goalkeeper is about to get relegated out of this league for the second successive season. Release every player and lets see what team's they end up at. I would say 95% of them would end up at League 2 teams or below. You talk about Charlie Adam, do you know his record at Fleetwood before he actually got his first win at Fleetwood? Plus Fleetwood have better players than us including decent strikers. Crosby is a shit3 manager, let's get that straight. He's had us in complete free fall since September and should have gone in October. Andy Crosby's record this season. 8 wins from 29 league games and left us in a relegation zone On that record how the hell does Crosby get a tune (Carlisle Away, Fleetwood Away) to keep us up when it is him that's put us in the relegation zone

  35. She's made it clear her feelings on him in her open letter. He's going nowhere and there's not much we can do. Flitcroft before fans.

  36. More points and put a fight with Crosby? Crosby is one of the main reasons why we are in a relegation battle. He should never have have been given the job in the first place and he should 100% of gone in October.

  37. He’s in a no-win situation. The squad is completely and utterly useless. I repeat… THIS SQUAD WOULD GET RELEGATED WITH PEP GUARDIOLA IN CHARGE. We have players who, physically, aren’t up to the challenge of 2 games in a week. We have players who have downed tools because they know they will be gone in the summer (note “the injuries”) We have players who are being asked to play out of position because we literally have no-one for that position. We have players who, quite frankly, are not good enough. The squad is an absolute mess from top to bottom. Jackson Pollock has nothing on Flitcroft. Moore has little option but to play the nicey-nicey cliched interview card. We still have a mathematical chance of avoiding the drop so doesn’t want to completely alienate the players. Whilst the reality is that we were as good as relegated on 2 February, fans need some hope to cling to for next year, at least show some fight. What would you do?? Publicly criticise the team and owners?? Maybe if he wanted an early pay-off and to keep his reputation in tact because this isn’t a basket case of his making? Or maybe, just maybe - and I know this is rare in modern football - DM is a man of integrity and is eyeing a fresh start next year with him re-shaping the team for a promotion push?

  40. I’m afraid Carol has painted herself into a corner with the open letter, if she changed her mind now she would look extremely foolish, is she a big enough person to do that, I’m not sure she is. It never ceases to amaze me how highly intelligent & successful people completely lose their minds when owning a football club. The biggest mistake she had made is treating “Flickers” as a friend instead of an employee, people like him are only ever after themselves. Just hope we don’t end up like Bury. All we can do as supporters is continue to let our feelings be known until she comes to her senses and be there to help the club when she does.

  41. It seems we’re still deep in ‘process-mode’. Every signing has to be at a value, outsmarting everyone else to fit the ‘tactical, physical, technical, and psychological profile”. It has to be data-driven and a chance for the DoF to be the smartest in the room. We seem to have had someone in and decided not to sign them. Sometimes, all that needs to go and you just bring a body in for an inflated wage and a survival bonus. Someone the manager knows, or someone that comes recommended. This obsession with refusing to pay market value, in finding undervalued gems misses the point that often you just need the obvious best fit and the inflated price they command. Not every signing has to be a Garrity or a Hall. Often, you just need Lee Hughes, Darren Purse, even a Chris Eagles. The obsession with doing things in this process-way is likely going to cost us a place in this league. I genuinely think 10 randomly selected OVF posters would be doing a better job.

  42. 1 point from 23rd, 21st, and 20th when you’ve been brought in to help avoid relegation is ‘not good’. I expected some degree of impact - nothing major, but just a sign that someone competent was in the dugout. He’ll get time, but this slow start has likely killed our survival hopes and we can’t just pretend these results were inevitable. We should have picked up 4-5 points.

  45. I can't dispute the disaster zone we are currently languishing in, and something's gotta change; equally I know who I'd change, but................a horny little angel wearing purple 💜 I luv lucas Jim jams keeps pouring honey in my ear and whispering "There's a wise old tale, about the same old hell, only the devil will change." Aka, Hoppers, be careful what you wish for Aka could it even get worse if auntie Carol has a purge I can't see an easy ride out of this mess; for me, if he Inna going, best case scenario as others have mentioned, is let flitcroft keep building his Lego dressing rooms and offices, and get someone who actually knows about recruitment to work with DM - I think we will be thankful of our manager if his hands are kept untied 👍👍👍

  49. I'm planning to move back this summer from Devon! Maybe NW9 we could form a consortium and buy it? I'll provide £50 if you can do the rest? 😃 My season ticket stopped in 2011, when I moved and my son wants us to go to every game in 24/25, but I think he's mad!! So frustrating to watch the team. Feel we have a mixed bag of poor recruitment, not good enough players, poor tactical awareness and execution, too much back slapping, wavering strategies and focus. Feel we are down and it hurts so much. Following since 1967 and I have seen plenty of ups and downs but I plan to stick with them. My birthplace, my team, my future. VTID

  50. Crosby I thought often came across really well in interviews, even in adversity, albeit he often used the same cliches. But Moore stand there and do nothing but drool as long as I saw what he was at least trying to do on the pitch. Our fortunes haven't changed and they won't because the squad is THAT bad. But no interview after a game is going to sound too clever when you're losing every week.
