  1. I'm planning to move back this summer from Devon! Maybe NW9 we could form a consortium and buy it? I'll provide £50 if you can do the rest? 😃 My season ticket stopped in 2011, when I moved and my son wants us to go to every game in 24/25, but I think he's mad!! So frustrating to watch the team. Feel we have a mixed bag of poor recruitment, not good enough players, poor tactical awareness and execution, too much back slapping, wavering strategies and focus. Feel we are down and it hurts so much. Following since 1967 and I have seen plenty of ups and downs but I plan to stick with them. My birthplace, my team, my future. VTID

  2. If Carol can't bring herself to remove DF, why not give him a changed role and put him in charge of project managing all the ground developments which is the part of his job he seems good at. Then let the manager sort out recruitment along with the existing recruitment team.

  3. Very curious. Which unwanted, desperate out of contract lads has he dragged out of the job centre now?

  4. He’s hanging fire until results change and new signings have appeared( I’m led to believe we have 2) so he can say he’s put things right. To be honest I can’t be arsed with what Flitcroft says anymore. It’s all going to be blah blah blah and I personally don’t trust a word which comes out of his mouth. I’m now at a point where if he is still in post I’m not renewing my tickets.

  5. Just a reminder that since DF went full time which Carol announced 10 games ago we have won 0, drawn 3, and lost 7. Way to go big guy.

  6. Unfortunately the couple he is trying to bring in are George and Mildred

  7. His position should be untenable after 14 months of utter failure on the football side of the club which is his department. In a relegation battle no way in a million years should a 17 year old youth player be leading the line and thats a damning indictment of his performance in the last 14 months. I don't know where we go from here, Carol seems to not see it, in fact she went on the offensive over critics of him in the open letter so what on earth do we do? Another bad window or two and we could be looking at non league football unless a lot changes. He did a great job summer 2021 but we can't live of that going forward, it was a great season, Wembley was great but means nothing when we are back where we started... which we will be in 2 months time.

  8. Apparently According to Phil Bowers, Radio Stoke have been asking for an interview with Flitcroft and are being told not this week and so on. Why won’t he give one or the Owner give one, instead of an Open Letter. They both know they have ****** up and are continuing to do so. She will only face up when it suits her, like the Pathetic Fans Forum, a week before the Transfer Window closed and she then sacked Crosby. Somedays my Job is a Pleasure when on about Robbie Williams etc. They are both treating the Fans with Disdain and I would of expected better from especially from her.

  9. Moore must have known relegation was a distinct possibility, surely he can't walk if we do go down as: His career will be on the downslide and he'll need to restore it to get a decent job He'll look insincere if he signs a really long deal then walks away (as I don't think he'll be sacked.) So what are people's thoughts on the chances that he will be our manager should we go down? I am not personally going to judge his performance until he's had a significant number of games under his belt having had the chance to shape his own team. I hope he gets the chance to do that whatever league we are in. I don't think we can even look at his tactics / formations / subs too much at this stage as in all seriousness, what can he do? It'll only change when he brings players in to play the style he wants and he is responsible for managing them having had direct input.

  10. He can’t be allowed to do any more damage. A team with this little fight falls straight through to the national league from league two next year.

  12. I think time has given Belly a halo he never deserved? It wasn't great, turning up, for the first game of the new season, to find your best player had been sold...time after time! Fortunately, Rudgie was the manager and found some great replacements...but they became fewer over time.

  18. This has been lingering at the back of my mind: Can you remember in the flitcroft interview there was a bit about how bringing in a manager sooner wouldn't have helped with transfers as they are all planned by recruitment team? 2 entire transfer windows under DC we only signed a striker at the last minute (Harrison and Taylor), and both probably as DC could see the car crash happening and pulled out his contact book. We don't learn and are going down. What would have happened in january if we had an experienced manager in earlier? You can guarantee we would have more than we have.

  19. He's gotta go sharpish for me. He should be in the position now of identifying two sets of targets- one for league 2 and the other for league 1, and I don't trust him with either task. DoF a failed experiment for me. With Moore's connections his role is redundant. We need a chief scout who can spot a striker. Martin Foyle perfect choice for me.

  21. Let's hope Carol has an Emperors new clothes moment very soon and sees what we are all seeing. Flitcroft , who almost got us relegated last season, will this season. As he is the person responsible for everything the ball touches, why is he still here ? Forget all the other stuff he does the only part of his job that really matters is keeping us in this division . Carol he is failing Port Vale, the fans can see it even if you can't. Forget the smooth patter and actually look at the league table. Phenomenal players don't get you relegated, phenomenal players get you promoted.

  22. NW, I’d think twice about moving back here. If you’re selling your flat in London are you thinking of buying the club.?

  24. The comments about Jones are laughable, just shows how "stats" can't paint a completely different picture to reality. Lies, lies and damn lies! One of the worst footballers on ability I've seen at Vale in 30 odd years as a fan(at least for league one level and he wasn't great in league two)! Flitcroft ought to be severely reprimanded for ratifying a 2 year extension when his injury/absence record is a joke as well. Sadly Loft is another, I've seen some poor strikers at VP in my time but he makes Reggie Cicilia look like Drogba!

  28. Indeed. I’ll admit to using a degree of artistic license, it was supposed to be a sales pitch and I thought “jump aboard the roller coaster and look down helplessly as the wheels come off”, whilst accurate, was a bit strong. 🙄

  32. It's the small time thinking of only considering what's and who in our catchment area why we were so stagnant for 20 years before Carol came into the club. We need somebody well travelled, experienced as well as having a good eye and negotiating skills.

  33. Sproson!! Dear god no! I thought it was only Carol with the wacky ideas. He may be an agent, but that doesn’t mean he is a valid director of football.

  34. Believe me, not my first choice 😄 but it's the best choice given the reasons for moving. And buying the club wouldn't be an option, sadly. I'd be mad enough to if I had the money.

  36. Don’t know if anyone has said this on here before, get rid of him and put Sproson in charge. This is based solely on contacts within the game, being an agent. I know others will disagree with this and the damage is already done, just trying to plan for L2.

  37. Our only values as a football club should be. Does this guy help us win football matches? The guy could be a sex offender, wife beater or member of the KKK for all I care as long as he does a good job as a footballer,

  38. Lol. Which is why we are stuck with him until we follow Bury into non league.

  39. So far above our level, if Loft hadn't missed his big chance, we'd have been 3-0 up against them. Whereas we never laid a glove on Middlesbrough. Fleetwood have only managed two league wins in three and a half months, one of which was against us, yet they've managed to put five goals past us in 180 minutes. They've also conceded the most goals in League 1 but, rather than trying to further exploit that weakness in the second half, we just sat back, invited them onto us and inevitably capitulated.

  40. My prediction for what it's worth. We're relegated with games to spare this season. Moore does a DC & completely overhauls the squad in the summer. We have money to spend & manage to sign a decent squad. We are in & around the playoffs next season, but don't go up. Takes us 2 x seasons to get back to L1. I don't think Moore comes to Port Vale without getting a decent pay packet & the promise of funds to build his own team. I think a massive part of us bringing him in was that bagging a well known manager with a proven track record puts you in a much stronger position when you're trying to attract players & get signings over the line. I think that probably played a part in January. Players were probably looking at us & thinking... bottom half League 1 with Andy who in charge? I think Moore is a piece of the puzzle we were missing. A "big" name who can get signings over the line. Signings who would normally be out of our reach. We will find out in the summer. I think DF & Carol were banking on us being a League 1 side, because the calibre of player we may have been able to attract with Moore as manager & Carol's new found wealth would've put us in a different bracket. It doesn't look like that will materialise & he's going to have to work much harder to get some good signings through the door. There isn't many quality players who want to play League 2 football. I believe stopping up this season would've been transformational for us as a club. I think Carol knows this. Her interview on Saturday said it all. She knows we're within touching distance of a new era, but relegation is going to put us back by 2/3 years. She must be just as frustrated as ourselves, you can tell by how emotional she was in such a public setting.

  44. Nah. She's got to reap what she sows. She was interviewing for a football manager. Then a football manager told her she should hire him as a DoF. Then he told her to spend a fortune on a campus, T-Zone, scoreboard etc. Then he signed 60+ players over about 3 windows. Then he hired a coach as a manager without interviewing anyone else. Then he refused to rectify the mistake when he clearly wasn't cut out. Then he assembled the weakest, softest group of players we've ever seen. Then he failed to sign a L1 level strikeforce over 3 windows. Then she had the audacity to write a patronising letter telling all the fans why we are all wrong, and that the board were all right. Etc etc. This blind loyalty from Carol is the reason we're in this mess. This relegation is on her. And she needs to get rid of DF, take some of that £180m, and bankroll us back into L1 at the first attempt. The fans do not deserve L2 football again. The fans ALL saw this coming.

  45. Fleetwood looked on a par to Middlesbrough to me. Well above our level. Hence I don't get the booing of our players.

  46. I simply don't agree. They are a better side than Lincoln last weekend. You can see this not from what PV are doing, but the pace they can play the ball round at with accuracy. As I say, I don't know what's been going on - but I guess liquidity issues affecting morale don't help.

  47. Warren they aren't. The league table tells you how good they are. The Port vale benevolent society made them look good.

  48. Correct and we ended up in administration… so something has to change if we want to progress beyond our current natural league 2 / league 1 position… and that is what the new owners are trying to do.
