Shame they couldn’t have invaded the pitch in the second half when we’re invariably winning 1-0 and looking comfortable (only to change tactics, make bad substitutions and concede late on). A valid claim to award us the three points then

Why couldn’t Vale fans have invaded the pitch at 6-0 on the opening day at Barnsley? I’m sure we’d have learned loads for the replay 🤣

Very sorry to all the attending fellow vale fans but...

STATEMENT MADE. I commend the fans who went on the pitch. It wasn't too long since we were in trouble shouting black and gold until its sold outside lorne Street and showing red cards won't do anything, to get a poisonous owner out of the club you need to hit the owner where it hurts,  I.e their pockets they'll get fined for this, and I guarantee if that persists every week they won't stay very long that is a given.

Listen I'm not saying it should be a given at every club to take such action if you are unhappy with the owner but if you feel that strongly as a collective group then that's one way to do it unfortunately today we were  a martyr in their strategy.

Also they made the EFL look lie buffoons is it not clear yet proper checks need to be made so that they have the fans best interest at heart, I'm not saying that's easily provable but tighter checks and interview processes surely would go a long way to rectify this.

Yet again,  travelling valiants sorry that the game wasn't completed but enjoy your weekend and hope you do get reimbursed.

Sorry fellah but No - outside the ground, at their own club’s events, marches through the town, chants during the game, Yes. But interrupting the game involving another club is unacceptable.

Not as unacceptable though I agree as the EFL’s incompetence. Nevertheless, they should keep off the pitch.

Reading will surely be hammered for this with another points deduction and fine but whether all this results in their owner going is anyone’s guess.

Glad we can agree on the EFLS incompetence  - though please just let me elaborate, we aren't just talking about a football club its people's communities, working class people who go to work every week and also some people's livelihoods. Fans won't stand for that and I understand that as a fan who's seen us in danger twice in the last 12 years at least. As I say unfortunately there's only so much outside events can do, but again it all could of been avoided if the EFL were competent which they aren't, I guess their the common denominator..

Plod did absolutely nothing

You would think that the EFL would take into consideration the lack of security/policing when making a sanctions decision, given the fact that every man and his dog knew exactly what was planned, at least a couple of days in advance.

The professional game has gone in my opinion.

It’s so far away from what it was even 40 years ago that it’s practically a different sport.

Sports washing, rampant commercialisation, diving / play-acting, lack of respect for officials or fellow pro’s, instagram likes more important that what goes on on the pitch, bent owners trying to asset strip etc etc.

And where has all this influx of foreign talent - which would raise the standard of English players - got us??
Because I don’t see too many WC Winners medals amongst any of them.

The sooner we move to the German model the better.

When?

No…again how is that fair to us? Anything could happen in the time between now & the resumption (assuming it’s not imminent) i.e. injuries to key players.

Also, fans paid to watch 90 mins of football, so again how are they compensated?

I’m sorry - whatever the moral rights or wrongs - the fact of the matter is that their fans have deliberately caused a game to be abandoned and that surely is the same as forfeiting it?

Spot on that is Biddulph PV 👍

Sang was probably the weakest of the 3 available midfield players. If Weir plays as he did for Morecambe he has to start.  It'll be interesting to see which of Devine or Weir plays deeper.

Balmer must either be injured of going back to Palace. Possibly a chance for Cass to resurrect his career. Lomax can also play centrehalf,  so that may be the reason he's selected ahead of Shorrock.

Shorrock is a class act  👍

Play the remaining 73 minutes

As soon as possible (tomorrow? was mentioned by Adam Yates on iFollow), with the same players (no team gets an advantage of better players returning from injury) and behind closed doors so there’s no chance of a repeat of a pitch invasion .

will this just be replayed now then??? if they are persisting on continuing these protests it's very likely they'll have to play behind closed doors now at their home games

So the game gets replayed.  Reading win the replayed game . Vale and fans not to blame for any of this ,have forked out for two journeys to London costs etc , and got sod all . To set a precedent , Vale should get the 3points.  Deduct more points ,and play rest of games behind closed doors.

Whatever the outcome, no way can we suffer for this as a result. Replay? No way. We should be awarded the win and the points. I don’t remember us running on the pitch to get our matches postponed even with that monster Smurfwaite.

We protested pre match at a game v Colchester at home but didn’t ruin the match. I doubt their club or their fans would have been pleased if we forced needless journey.

I’m sorry but it was totally selfish and self indulgent of those Reading fans. Feel sorry for Vale fans who spent £29 plus £15 on parking along with all the other costs and time. Anyone with sympathy is sat warm at home no doubt. Reading fans couldn’t give a stuff about ruining the weekend for the Vale fan, so why should we care about them? This idea of the United front for fans is nonsense.

I’m Glad I decided NOT to Go the 5 miles to Reading FC Today !

My Nearest Ground to Watch a Vale Match.

I felt Sorry for the Vale Supporters Who Paid to go there.

How much would it have Cost Them ?

I stayed at home listened to iFollow Commentary

Vale Started Well, scored an Offside Goal.

Jensen Weir (Brighton Loan) Made Two Good Passes !

Then they threw Tennis Balls, & invaded the Pitch !

Vale only dropped one place.

But they have One or Two games in hand now.

Will Reading have a further Points Reduction ?

It could make them Relegated ?
