How the hell does a football club lose £34 million a year?! That is insanity.

I wonder what Luton cost to run a year just out of interest - or what was the cost in the championship at least..

perhaps easier to agree with a point each when it's the last day of the season as this was and the implications for other clubs were known.  If this happened in this case and we either made play offs or stayed up by one point the displaced club would cry foul as we may have lost this game.  Same of course for Reading's eventual position.

Must be a replay.  Too many future issues could come into play.  A mid table dead rubber on teh last day - different matter

Agreed - can't find anything that is a precedent for today's steaming mess.  Will be interested to see what the EFL do.

Imagine it was, for example, cheltenham at reading today and the efl awarded them the 3 points that ultimately took vale down. We'd probably have a thing or two to say about that. Replay surely only option.

There is the quote that says the EFL want points to be decided on the pitch, so there will be a replay.  I guess it then depends on what the EFL do to Reading in terms of points deductions in terms of affecting relegation matters.

So, does anyone know for sure what happens from here. Has the EFL or the clubs confirmed - is it a replay, do we get a point each, do Vale get all 3...??

On I follow the reading commentary we're saying that's 3 points gone but will be worth it in the long run so maybe they know something we don't , I dunner know.

Luton were 44 million in debt as of 21/22 season.

Both BBC Sport and Sky Sports News reporting that the fixture will be replayed one midweek in the future.

Reading manager is saying they were in total control before the pitch invasion, we should have had a red card and they should have had a penalty?

The BBC is saying the game will be replayed on a midweek date.

The rules are a joke then because the reading fans cause the game to be called off and reading the n ger rewarded with a replay come on that's bomkers   imo .

The EFL are an absolute joke

I'm fuming cost me and my family a fortune today. There were 6 of us and we are staying overnight.

Always support a club that's been ill treated due to bad ownership but make your point and move on they have crossed the line today and I hope we receive the 3 points as what's the deterrent?

In total control? there was only about 10 minutes of play with stoppages for the tennis balls plus we had a good goal disallowed.

Hang on are you being serious how can it be the only option the reading fans stage a protest on the pitch and you reckon the game should be replayed come on do me a favour ,Reading should be punished there fans caused the game to be called off.

The BBC is saying the game will be replayed on a midweek date.

They’re likely just guessing based on the very vague EFL regulations which state that, but with a proviso that indicates that the EFL could take other forms of action if they wanted to.

Just mind games and spin to say they were well in the game and no doubt should've won so a replay is therefore the only option.
