January transfer window

I think Carol said they were looking to bring in a centre-half and a striker, during this window? Pope's injury, and a defence lacking confidence makes signing both of these pretty crucial!

Our over 22 squad is full now so these would have to be young loans I'd imagine?

Terrific signing. Just what we want.Young striker with pace. Looks good in the air. Scores goals with both feet. Been around a couple of seasons, so knows what to expect. To me there is more optim

Joe, I thought that Jake gave us energy that I struggle to remember anyone else doing for sometime. He also motivated Burgess who now looks lost. Together they formed a partnership that  allowed Joyce

The Pope question will need to be answered sooner or later.   with the salary cap (he will count as the average salary not what he is actually earning) then we may struggle to improve on him, but if

I think a striker is needed.

Pope out long-term, Cullen injury prone, and Robinson not good. Leaves a young Rodney who has recently picked up a knock.

I don't rate Guthrie as much as most Vale fans, but he'd be an upgrade on what we have. His wages are gargantuan, mind, especially for a lad with 17 league goals in 77 games across 3.5 seasons.

Suspect that Guthrie’s wage demands will depend on whether he’s happy sitting on his backside doing nothing at Bradford or actually playing football somewhere else

He's done OK at all his clubs apart from Bradford.  Checking him out he signed for Bowyer who was sacked four days later - perhaps McCall just didn't fancy him.

Yeah, signing imminent. Will be Guthrie.

Has all the attributes of a good striker - needs somewhere where he can settle and put it to good use. Needs to bring it all together. Bradford fans really don't rate him, though, although they've been in shambles and are a bad team.

Fairly pleased. As I say, not quite as high on him as others, but he's an upgrade. With Rodney and Guthrie, we finally have mobile strikers.

Taylor and Guthrie is good business. A centre half and that's delightful.

Bradford fans are absolutely vitriolic about him.

Hope he has a better time with us. Robinson on his way?

Or sadly, deregistering Popey?  Hope not.
