I don’t see the formation changing much for this game and I think we’ll start cautiously but with 2 up front.

Brown

Rawlinson

Smith

Crooks

Gibbons

Kay

Oyeleke

Clark

Hannant

Harris

Pope (or Monty)

Need Howkins and Legge at the back with Gibbons and Crookes at full back.Kay and Clark with Montano ,Hannant ,Whitfield and Pope or Harris up front.

In the 1993/94 promotion season, February was the crunch month, as we played all of our promotion rivals (Stockport, Reading and Plymouth). We took 7 points out of 9 which was played a big part in us finishing in the automatic promotion spots.

The final match of the month was the easiest on paper, away at Cambridge on a Tuesday night. We lost 1-0.

Quick trivia question: who scored the winner for Cambridge that night?

I remember going that game, standing in an open end terrace behind the goal. I'm sure it was snowing?

Also remember that night Bill Bell standing outside the away end before kick off asking if anyone who hadn't already got a ticket wanted one (for free:ohmy::shifty:). Always thought that was a nice touch from him at the time, as it was freezing.

Actually looking forward to getting up and watching a game for once. I've dreaded it for about 6 weeks.

We were absolutely dreadful there last season. I hope to see a massive improvement on that performance. I would, like some others continue to play 3 at the back as it's probably our best formation for the players we have. But if Askey isn't comfortable playing that formation then we shouldn't do it.

He likes his 4-3-3, so I think we'll end up playing that. I can see Montano being involved heavily, and I would love to see Hannant in the midfield 3. The lad has everything you'd want from a box to box midfielder.

So him being injured and out for weeks on end, was just another Aspin lie??

No. The people I know all believe he was genuinely injured. Unless there’s a big conspiracy going on. I heard he’s fit now, but I’ve not seen any training this week.
