Maybe. He did well there last season. I suppose we have to cut our cloth accordingly and have players who can make do when necessary. I thought McKeown did well in the couple of games I saw, but him being let go and Aspins subsequent comments just show where we are headed and how we can expect to play for the season.

Very good point you make there. Angus in effect has gone back to the level he came from. So he scores shed loads of goals there and then what? That is why we signed him. I agree we should of been looking at Conference surely as that is a step up.

Can't criticise the gamble or the fact it may not come off but in effect when he comes back in January he has been our player for 12 months yet will be coming back to us from the level he was at in January 2018.

And before someone says it i realise reserve football isn't what it used to be so game time is good, but higher up the food chain would be better i feel.

I'm sure Pugh can fit in as an emergency left back if needed. He's a good pro and if our defence is stronger than last year and he has some cover in front of him then he'll be ok in emergencies.

Interesting comments from Aspin today along the lines that some players we've taken a gamble on haven't done as well as we wanted, which could explain why we're still after 1-2 loan signings. I'm going for up front and at the back.

 

Pure speculation about who he means but to date I don't think Daniels and Kanu have pulled up any trees.

And as we've covered already, loaning out Angus is a sign that he's not yet ready for our first team, despite being here for 6 months.

Kanu i would see more as a winger...Dodds(maybe behind a front 2)... so i wouldn't mind another maybe smaller and nippy striker in on loan

As far as I can see we have only signed three cast iron quality players at this level Brown Dodds and Joyce,the rest are gambles,where Aspin makes his move next will be interesting.

I’ve been moaning all summer about the lack of quality and little has changed. I’m unconvinced this squad will fare much better than last year.
