Tom Anderson recalled by Burnley, and loaned out

confirmed he has gone to Doncaster

It says loan on the BBC which is really disappointing. This demonstrates the vulnerability of having too many loan players and, probably, poor loan terms. He's played lots of games for us and seemed settled so how come it's so easy for Burnley to just move him to another club? They're obviously looking to offload him in the summer and hopefully get some sort of fee due to his age. Or maybe they were paying most of his wages and Donny are prepared to pay more?

We have to survive and get to the summer! Mr. Smurthwaite must be feeling proper stupid right now, he's spent a packet on digging himself a right hole and he has two choices, invest his way out of trouble which means funding Aspo and Rudge and TRUSTING them or sell up for whatever he can get and cut his losses. Hoping things will come good by doing more of what's gone before just won't work.

Why wouldn't the parent club put in a 6 month recall option? It makes sense from their point of view.

No suprise hes gone to a higher level, because after all hes only here to put himself in the shop window. Whether thats to further his chances at Burnley or to get himself a move as high up the leagues as he can. Plus Burnely want to maximise his experience and also his value as well.

Some have been quick to criticise his ability on here, but theres a lot to be said for a no nonsense centre half thats willing to put his body on the line, and I think as usual that criticism is doing him a dis-service. Its a recurring trend from some of our fans to our players, quick to write them off and also to underestimate their worth to us, their ability and what they offer to the side.

Can't understand why people are criticising Burnley for this. If we had a player that was doing well at Unibond level, and had a 6 month recall on him, surely the proper thing to do would be to bring him back in January and then loan him out to a Conference North team. We'd owe it to that player's development. Obviously the timing could have been better but I don't get the anger towards the parent club.

I agree. I think people have to remember that a loan player is NOT our player. The parent club will do what is best for them and their player NOT what is best for Port Vale. If that means securing a higher level of football for their player then they are going to do it.

Not defending Smurfwaite but the transfer market is ludicrous. Tyler Roberts of WBA has been on loan at Oxford (14 appearances, 0 goals) Shrewsbury (13 appearances, 4 goals) and Walsall (15 appearances, 5 goals) Leeds have brought him today for £2.5m. How on earth can we compete against that and go out and buy players that will improve us?
