Having to rely on loans to paper over browns mess of a squad was always going to be an issue. It’s why we have to claw our way to the summer and rebuild, yet again.

This is true so why not start the summer now ,write off 5 months but go into a settled summer more focussed and organised plus gives the club a lift now when it needs it most

Think aspin has started to do that to be fair. Trimming the squad and signing players like Angus who I'm guessing aspin will want for next year.

The issue is we're not safe yet and need a few more in to get us to safety first.

Players for next year are one thing we need ready to go into the side players now , next year will/could be too late

Because any decent player we want will be in contract. Most players who we would want to bring in on longer contracts won’t be released at this point by clubs. The only players available will be silly money, players a club don’t want, or kids. January isn’t about rebuilding, its about filling the cracks.

fully Understand that yet we always seem worse off from a transfer window, we need players of use in a relegation fight not players like you say are squad fillers..so a few pcs in the jigsaw now helps this season and is a start ready for next will help create positivity and then we have a springboard of intent for next season...anything else and we are gambling we wont get injuries to the few key players we have and also they can maintain a level of form

Anderson I thought was playing at his level , good in the air but looked very shakey when the ball was at his feet. Could be exposed even by mobile League two strikers . Therefore suggests he will not get near Burnley's first team or even their bench. Must have had a purchase offer in from another club. That leaves Smith and ?. Davis probably the first choice but without flogging a dead horse we miss Gunning's versatility.
