  1. First allocation sold out. 475 additional standing tickets to go on sale soon.
  2. Frustrating night against a poor Salford outfit. First half was ok with more shots blocked than I've seen in a while but it was a stinker of a second half with Vale unable to even threaten to break down their defence. A midfield of Walker, Pett and Garrity is far too predictable as they are all a much of muchness. It's an area we need to strengthen especially with Conlon's rumoured departure. Up top we have two inexperienced players learning their trade which is not what we need right now.
  3. If Stoke had played a different League Two side in the third round ie us, the crowd would have been 20 thousand more. So who are those extra fans going to see?
  4. I wrote this before the Man City draw: I've rubbed by crystal ball and I see a Premier League side in blue away from home......🧙‍♂️🧙‍♂️ So my credentials are unquestioned. I've had a feeling we will get a certain club and I've just done the random number generator and the same club has appeared The spirits are strong today ladies and gentleman very strong and I'm getting the name.........Peter. Is there a Peter in the draw? A Peter Borough?
  5. I don't think there's one positive to come from tonight's game. No one performed against a poor Walsall. Not been this peed off and frustrated since we were two up away last season and threw it away second half and lost 4-3 to you've guessed it bloody Smallsall.
  6. Burton v Vale has not been chosen as one of the live second round ties FA Cup second-round televised games Friday, 3 December Gateshead or Altrincham v Charlton Athletic 19:45 kick-off - live on ITV4 Saturday, 4 December Buxton v Morecambe 12:45 - live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer Yeovil Town v MK Dons or Stevenage 17:30 - live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer Sunday, 5 December Rochdale or Notts County v Sheffield Wednesday or Plymouth Argyle 12:15 - live on ITV Salford City v Chesterfield 17:15 - live on ITV4 Monday, 6 December Boreham Wood v St Albans City 19:45 - live on ITV4 Bloody Salford again
  7. Burton are the one side who've managed to lose to Crewe this season. Nowt to be afraid of.
  8. Thought we struggled because of a lack of natural full backs who could have played a more defensive wing back role last night. Gibbo should have come on earlier to shore up the defence
  9. I do find it very funny that fans are celebrating getting our game back and we showed them that they can't mess with us. The cheapest ticket at Arsenal is £66. The game was lost in 1992.
  10. I'm of the opinion to let them get on with it because I simply don't care. Lower league football won't collapse because the so called big six are gone because they didn't give a stuff about the lower leagues in the first place. And all this football should band together rubbish. Where was the outcry when Bury went bust or numerous clubs went into administration? You didn't hear Gary Neville rant about the death of a club where his father was a legend. The likes of Sky and UEFA are only kicking off because the money isn't going to them.
  11. A pity really but I hope he plays forty odd games for Chesterfield next season because he is a talented player. My lasting memory of him will be scoring a last minute rocket at league leaders Lincoln on New Year's Day a few years back. It sent the travelling Valiants home happy that afternoon.
  12. If true it's a disappointing but understandable decision. Manny gives us something we don't get from any other midfielder and is a class player at this level but we all know his injury record. I'm just glad he isn't moving to another League Two club.
  13. Interesting that Bet365 paid £85m into the Denise Coates Foundation so the charitable donations are not coming from the paltry £469m she's paying herself. Profits slump 74% and her salary increases by £277m to £421m. Charitable my arse!
  14. One of my big concerns with the appointment of Flitcroft was that I don't think he was done with management and if an offer came along that interested him, he'd be off and we'd be back to square one again. He was asked about his desire to still manage again and he gave a long answer that didn't answer the question. As he's only got a 12 month contract, it's still a concern to me.
  15. I don't understand this. We still do not have a manager. I love the Shanahans but they seem to making this up as they go along.
  16. Terrible news. My Dad used to sit near to Mike in the Railway. My Dad moved to the Disabled Stand a few years ago but whenever they bumped into each other around the ground, they spent a few minutes putting the world to rights. A true Valiant.
  17. I'm only become a convert to Nick Cave in the last couple of years which is good in a way because there's so much work to delve into and gems to discover. As you say, Ghosteen isn't an easy listen but is a moving, beautiful record. Went to an evening with Nick Cave in Manchester in the summer. The Q and A was ok but too many people wanted to tell their story rather than listen to his opinion but the music was stunning. Just him on the piano was fantastic.
