Up the fuckin Cumbrians! Fantastic result. I did call it, no pressure on Carlisle now they can play with more freedom & defended brilliantly ๐ in our hands tomorrow really is a free hit & a point would be huge. Home games will decide our fate. The great escape is on. Up the Vale ๐7 points

This is tenous, but Stevenage winning is good for us as keeps them in the playoff hunt with Burton and Cheltenham still in their final fixtures.6 points

If roles were reversed and it was Vale in the playoffs having just won at Wembley playing a team at home probably in the bottom 4 tomorrow night- then we know what would happen letโs hope Posh do a Vale ๐6 points

Well, to be fair. OVF covers a fair number of topics and no-one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing you to read them all. So, with respect, if you aren't interested, that's absolutely fine, just ignore it. However, to answer the question "who cares" - enough users to generate 7,000+ views of the topic and 30+ replies, so it clearly does interest some users. I'm sorry if that in any way sounds condescending - it's really not meant to be. I'm just trying to make the point that although not everything on here will interest everyone, the interest in this topic suggests that while it's not interesting you, others do find it interesting.5 points

Don't forget your turnip. Everyone has to put one on their head and stick a finger up their arse when the opposition score. Massive Vale away game tradition.5 points

I wouldnโt say tomorrow is a free hit. A battering would put us back in the bottom four and kill any confidence we have.4 points

Watching that game in isolation it stunk of a league 2 match next season. Cheltenham were hopeless.4 points

It's amazing to think that there's a possibility that come the end of the season, there's 4 teams actually worse than us.4 points

Cheltenham rolling the dice. Giving full debuts to two players tonight. Harrop and Thomas. Come on Carlisle.4 points

Train booked ticket brought . I'm looking forwards to it . Nowt lose Vale go for it I don't want see a sit back cowardly performance as it costing me just under 95.60 just get there. It's a one off I don't go many so I'm really buzzing let's hope when I get on that 22-00 return Train I'm getting on with a positive scoreline to Vale SVA cannot wait get behind them .4 points

Feel we need a performance like at Ipswich last season. A 1 goal defeat keeps us above Burton on goals scored. We sure don't need a tanking as that could be unrecoverable.4 points

Yeah the big issue for us is Cheltenham have Carlisle H, Bristol Rovers H, Burton A next three before three tough final fixures so it is possible they win all 3, they'd probably be bookies favourites to win each fixture, if that does happen then it would leave us needing 8 points, or likely win the three home games assuming we lose the two away due to goal difference and that is if they lost all 3 of their last games. I think our fate lies largely with how Cheltenham do their next three games unfortunately. If they get 4-5 points max then we have a chance, otherwise winning all 3 home games and hoping we can overhaul Cambridge, Reading or Shrewsbury might come into it but thats a huge ask considering we've won 1 home game in months. I have had a horrible feeling for a while that those two points thrown away V Fleetwood would come back to haunt us.3 points
-
Agree 0 points from those 2(Shrewsbury & Cheltenham), 1 from Fleetwood and splitting the points with Carlisle and Burton tells you all you need to know if we do go that's basically why. I think win the 3 home games and we have a fair to middling chance imho. The annoying thing is a couple of (decent)signings in January and we'd have probably been comfortable (around where Bristol Rovers/Wycombe/Wigan are in the table). Can anyone honestly say that would have been too much to ask or punching above our weight for Vale budget and size of club wise? Personnally I don't think so!3 points

IF and it is a big IF despite our improved form we can get a point here and manage a win on Saturday(Exeter wont be easy) then that would give us a great chance of staying up imo3 points

Seeing as pretty much nobody expects anything from the game it must surely be the right one to go for it 100%. Peterborough certainly won't be expecting it, so throw caution to the winds and go for the jugular right from the whistle. The downside of course is that we could end up with a tonking that could be decisive in the final reckoning. Risk versus reward, the oldest conundrum of all. Personally I would take the risk, faint heart never won fair lady.2 points
-
Same for Cheltenham, they'd be adrift if we weren't so <ovf censored>. CS, DF to blame, ultimately.2 points
-
I tend to think the game will be harder now and more likely that Posh will be buoyed by their win rather than suffering from a come down after the highs of Sunday. Beyond the dream of picking up a point, or even 3, the main thing is not to see the GD hammered.2 points
