Press Conference?

Yukon

Recommended Posts

our budget since November 2012 will be increasing from 1.1m to just over 2 million, add to this the addition of scouts, fitness coaches, development squad etc etc, I fail to see how anyone can turn anything into a negative [ those with a sane mind I mean]

Stop posting sensible comments its hard for some people to take in.

I thought we were going to have a budget that can compete? 6th lowest in the league? Dosent sound too promising to me b

Within 12 months we have gone from administration in league 2 to (possibly) 6 th lowest budget in league 1.

What sort of position were you expecting the club to be in now 12 months ago?

Is this with smurfs added 30%...

I think he said he upped it 30% around Christmas and was going to up it another 40% this summer(i think that's right).

I have no problems with small budgets as other teams seem to do well on them, what does concern me is Adams coming out and saying about it now when we are trying to sell as many season tickets as we can.I just hope he isn't getting his excuses ready for next season already.

We may have the 6th lowest budget, we may not. Only Smurf, Micky and officers of the club will really know.

But what I do know is that we have Pope, Hughes, Neal, JMW and (hopefully) Jones, half a team already that is capable of playing, and holding their own, in League 1.

Can you be sure of that ?

So it seems like the Wildes departure proved to be more negatively significant than we gave it credit for. So it may be that the budget HAS been affected with Wildes going as he may pull out of certain projected spomsorship deals through his contacts- which from what we have heard, are quite extensive in comparison to Smurthwaite.

I really do hope we are not going down a similar road to V2001.....

The whole of this post is based on literally nothing factual with no evidential support.

Not 100%, but confident yes.

Saying that, on Friday you were SURE the rumours about Wildes were rubbish, and that if he did go, it would be devastating for the club.......

Did I say they were definatly rubbish. I always wait and see either way, and I never said it would be devistating as I knew that The Smurf would be ok as he was the one putting money in. Think may have got yourself a little cheakily mixed up. I even posted in the wonder of port vale Stephen stating that I had faitgh in The Smurf if Wildes did leave.

Seems like Adams is putting peoples feet back on the ground in regards to competing next season.

Sensible I'd say--we can all be optimistic and live in hope, but there's going to be quite a step-up in the quality of football played in League One and we shall therefore be hoping MA can get a few of the relevant type of players in to supplement the squad--but again, money (as always) is the issue. From public pronouncements since the weekend's news, NS is (quite rightly IMO) going to ensure the club is solvent and that means living within our means. So anyone expecting that we shall be splurging out loads of dosh on lots of players is I think, going to be disappointed!
