I reckon the budget will be around 2.1m, which I think is bang on for our club currently

Correct, some clown will say only a 1/10th of Wolves. But as you say, budget has to be related to income. Build the facilities and the team, so build the income and build the budget. Maybe a cup windfall, who knows.

No not at all I just thought that will all the hyp we would have had a larger budget that's all.

No not at all I just thought that will all the hyp we would have had a larger budget that's all.

 

He's just keeping us grounded, I would doubt he would know we have the 6th lowest in the division and reading on forums a lot of clubs estimate the wage budget at their clubs to be around about the 2 Million per annum mark which is about what I reckon ours will be.

 

Take Swindon paying £4 Million a year having to half it.... our crowds will be average League One level as will our budget, taking out the big clubs I would reckon we will be in a bracket of about 14 clubs with roughly the same wage outlay.

Not what the agents like to hear.

 

Stuff the agents. Lower than Estate agents or politicians some of them are. The club has to position itself (via MA & NS) very carefully. On the one hand we want to carry the enthusiasm from last season and encourage repeat and new ST sales. At the same time we want the outside world to realise we are not all of a sudden going on a spending spree funded by a bottomless pot of money.

 

We want to offer the right players a fair wage for the graft we expect of them. They will get a part in an ambitious club with the potential to progress beyond Yeovil (***) and ALSO be sustainable and here long term. Not just shoot up only to plummet again.
