Did I say they were definatly rubbish. I always wait and see either way, and I never said it would be devistating as I knew that The Smurf would be ok as he was the one putting money in. Think may have got yourself a little cheakily mixed up. I even posted in the wonder of port vale Stephen stating that I had faitgh in The Smurf if Wildes did leave.

You said "I don't believe a word of any of this". But I digress.

So it seems like the Wildes departure proved to be more negatively significant than we gave it credit for. So it may be that the budget HAS been affected with Wildes going as he may pull out of certain projected spomsorship deals through his contacts- which from what we have heard, are quite extensive in comparison to Smurthwaite.

I really do hope we are not going down a similar road to V2001.....

According to Adams we had the 6th lowest budget even when Wildes was with us.

“What is irritating me as well is that people think we have got a budget that is going to take us to the higher echelons of the league.

“This has got to be put straight. Even when Paul was here, the budget that was set for next season will see us with the sixth lowest budget in the league.

Im not sure who Adams was thinking had un-realistic expectations about the budget.

My view was that if we kept the players offered deals to, and added 4/5 quality players [2.5k a week players] then this would be the new budget spent, I would have been very happy with that.

From what I am seeing it was probably around what were were expecting on average around the £2 million mark.

So you rekon we won't be getting Fuller on a suggested 10k a week then. :D

To be honest I actually feel better having read that, as according to MA, the budget was no different under Wildes. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we've got Smurf, but although he has been the one producing the finance, he does come across as more prudent with his money. Guess it's easy to pronounce big plans when it ain't your money.

Sorry and I know it will annoy people and I will apologize in advance...BUT Adams is getting on my nerves now, when is he ever happy? how does he know what other clubs budgets are so soon after the end of the season?

He is getting the excuses in before the season starts.

Lots of clubs have small budgets its how you spend the money that counts.

Rant over
