Three points will probably push us into the top 10 so let's go for it. !

beyond them the rest are relatively even and we certainly should be looking to beat Pompey at home.

I’d bring Ojo in for Pett, Massey for Worrall, Stockton for Garrity at half time then Simpson on for the last 10 to see it out.

full house and a decent home following . lets make this a really uncomfortable atmosphere for portsmouth. fully expect us to take something from this fixture. vale park needs to be a fortress once again 😄

Should be a great game and no reason why Vale can't beat Pompey. Like I have stated in earlier posts some of the most fanatical supporters you will find in the lower divisions. Surely that John "Portsmouth Football Club" Westwood will be at Vale Park. Love him or loathe him he is one of the great characters of football fans. He is from Petersfield in Hampshire fifteen miles north of Portsmouth, he owns a runs antiquarian bookshop. He has over sixty Portsmouth FC tattoo's, also he has the club crest shaved onto his head and PFC  engraved on his teeth. To say he is a Pompey fanatic is an understatement along with blue and white Pompey top hat and that incessant bellringing. He also runs a minibus to all Pompey matches. Crazy but a real unique character.

Looking forward to this one. I think I’d go with the same 11 or if Massey is fit enough I’d bring him in for Worrall. Ojo in for Pett as well if he’s fit to play. 
 

i think we will be ok here, home advantage will count a lot for us this season.

looking forward to this one.... no idea what team we ll put out but I trust it will be well thought out and professionally planned and all players will be motivated.

Bit of a soft spot for Pompey ever since my early days when they got kicked out of the Bycars and started throwing bricks over the roof from outside !!

What was the catalyst that triggered a Vale fan to attack Peter Mellor the Pompey goalie back in the day? 

Have vague recollection it was a night match.

Anyone know why I paid online 20 quid v Fleetwood and 24 v Portsmouth
