My point was that every manager going has failed at some point. So there's absolutely no guarantee that a new manager will succeed. I agree that aspin is not the man now, but thinking that a new manager will suddenly change things is wrong

Smurf listened to the fans over getting Aspin and Rudge. Only a minority thought we should avoid hiring ex players despite history showing all were previously not good enough.

 

Smurf is free from criticism over this one. He gave the fans what they wanted.

I was one of the fans who thought - no please don't appoint another Vale legend to see him fail. But got behind him and hoped it would work. Remember as a kid watching him play and become a legend at Vale and now it is being taken away game by game now due to lack of experience as a manager when things go wrong at this level. It seems to be his way or get out and this is now affecting the players.
