Match Thread - Port Vale v Crawley Town

Vale will win tomorrow, the result Tuesday flattered Lincoln, Vale made chances to score and one or two will go in Saturday and I expect Aspo has worked hard to sort out the defensive issues, particularly organization.

What chances were they? At 2-0 down we had a couple of decent efforts but I wouldn’t even call them chances. I expect us to get something, if we don’t against s weak side then I worry for us.

Have you watched the Sky highlights (I don't know if you went or not)? We had at least 4/5 decent chances which were shown on there alone, & aside from that, during the game there was some good play at times. To be honest it felt to me quite a lot like the Mansfield 0-4 at home last season, came away thinking we didn't quite deserve such a large loss.

Anyway, forget that now, on to tomorrow, for me:

Brown

Smith

Rawlinson

Legge

Gibbons

Worrall/Hannant

Manny

Joyce

Montano

Miller

Pope

Similar to what a few have been putting on here.

I said exactly the same leaving the ground the other night.

I guess i will go with what most are saying apart from a couple of tweaks

..........................Brown....................

...........Rawlinson........Legge........Smith.........

...Clark.........................................Monty...

.................Joyce......................

......Manny.............Hannant...........

.............Pope.....Millar........

If we go 4-4-2 then i would like see Kanu get a game in place of Worrall

That would be my team, montano is wasted at left back, Hannant is not a winger so him supporting the front two with Manny and Joyce holding. Worrall offers nothing. If need be Doddsy could come on for Joyce or Manny to give us four attacking players...

But you haven’t got Worrall in your team.

We hit the bar and their goalie made two stunning saves!

I just hope this lad from Villa is able to play left back proficiently and we go with him and Gibbons as proper full backs because with a centre half at right back and Monty not looking like he did last season at left back we offer little or nothing as an attacking force down the flanks.

We could really do with a win in order to avoid repeating last season's abysmal start.

Meanwhile, just to spread a bit of joy, only Forest Green have hit more shots on target(15) after two games in League Two than Port Vale with (12).
Even more joy for Yeovil at Notts tonight, 12 shots on target producing 4 goals, giving a leap to 4th place from 18th at least until Sat afternoon.

593, Watch the highlights or the extended highlights, Hannant drew a good save from their keeper, Kay hit the bar and Miller had at least two chances, one he put just over the bar, the other a sharp chance that went just past their right hand post.
