Do you want Stoke to stay in the Premier league ?

I don't want Stoke to go down but I don't want them to do well and don't give a damn about them either.

Supporters from other clubs who will stay overnight in hotels, eat and drink in the S-o-T area before a game which all contributes to the local economy. Stoke City being in the EPL provides kudos to the local area, the EPL is watched all over the world, it puts S-o-T on the map.

I guess more people worldwide have heard of S-o-T due to Stoke City in the EPL and to a lesser extent Port Vale than from Josiah Wedgewood, Reginald Mitchell, Havargal Brian and Arnold Bennett combined.

It's ironic there's a thread on "Made in S-o-T" on the "Off Topic Thread" which doesn't portray the city in the best light, also people grumble about the state of S-o-T but the same people don't give a damn about one of the "Good stories" of a local business doing well. Ask people from Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham and Leeds etc if they'd like to be able to watch great football and players on their doorstep every other week. I'll find the nearest shelter.

Personally, I think Bet365 (and any other betting company that is heavily linked to a specific football club) should be banned from taking any football related bets.

If a football player can be banned from making any football bet (and not just ones involving their own teams as they have ‘insider knowledge’) then how can Bet365 be allowed to take bets and place odds? They know all the other clubs, all the people within the game and can fix the odds accordingly.

Are Bet365 offering odds on the next stoke manager?

Spot on!Conflict of interest comes to mind.NO football club should be linked to betting/gambling companies.I remember ,when I was a lad, players going to prison for betting offences.

I have to say I laughed when I read that quote about the clubs who are 'not smaller than Stoke', one being Leeds. Nobody in the country would ever say that Leeds were smaller than Stoke, and as you say shows their delusional mindframe. They're far smaller than all three East Midlands clubs and the three NE clubs. I do think however that we're kidding ourselves if we assume their attendances would drop to pre-prem levels upon relegation. I think they've done some decent work on the marketing side and would still average 20k in the Championship for one or two seasons until the rot sets in.

Is that the same Leeds United that has won 3 First Division league titles,1 FA Cup,1 League Cup and 2 Inter-Cities Fairs Cups?

Strange, confused first paragraph yoth.It hasn't gone unnoticed that your more recent posts indicate a Stoke city sympathiser.Reassuringly the only one I can detect on this thread.

No doubt the 3 East Midlands & Nth East clubs you refer to are Mansfield, Chesterfield, Peterborough & Hartlepool, Darlington and Gateshead. Seems a reasonable comment to me.

No confusion whatsoever and no sympathizer either, there are positions just above the bottom 3 in the EPL which would suit Stoke City and S-o-T just fine.

Well why wasnt there a headline do stoke want Vale stay in league one at the end of last season when we met our fate .

I dont really c the point in arguing about it to be honest ,over 38 games there fate will be sealed one way or the other .

There is a lot of fans in the area who hate each other and theres a lot who dont .

Its banter at the end of the day ,u dont give it out if u cannot take it .

I want Port Vale win football matches then what Stoke City do becomes irrelevant.

We r leagues apart and no threat whatsoever to them .

We must concentrate on our own welfare .

To be all those stoke fans who wish u well i wish them well ,to themwho wish us ill well karma will catch up with them .

I struggle to understand how someone who claims to be a socialist (or at least a Labour Party supporter) can reconcile those beliefs with owning a bookmakers.

What complete nonsense. Bet365 are a good employer and employ 3000 people in the city and no doubt some Vale fans.

Bet365 is a big employer in this city and in various places over the world.Denise Coates is the majority shareholder in Bet365.

Peter Coates is the majority shareholder in Stoke City.

Peter Coates has contributed to the Labour Party,in the past,to the tune of 400k.Not anymore, because of Corbyn.
