So we have spent money on a player we know is not ready for the first team but have let Gunning go, a player who has been a big part of our revival under Aspo. We are not safe from relegation yet, it is easy to destabilise a squad.

It’s one thing signing players with potential, but we can’t pin our hopes on players like Regis and the forward from Redditch being ready to go in straight away and make a difference to the starting 11. That’s a big ask I think. We need to offset these kind of signings with some league ready players too if we can.

The league ready players should be priority.

What's the definition of a 'league ready' player? It's no guarantee of success simply because they have played league games. Look at Wilson! Besides, don't we already have a lot of 'league ready' players, such as pugh, Tonge, pope etc? Last season, our best player was Nathan smith in his first league season. So far this season, it's been gibbons, in his first season, and Whitfield. All have the ability and hunger that have set them above the 'league ready' players.

Blimey. If we hadn’t signed him and someone else did then folks would moan their trees off. It’s a risk, but it’s Rudgie all over.

As for Gav, sorry to see him go, we did each other a favour, but if he wants unrealistic money then so be it. Same for anyone really.

Cant expect Angus to jump 3 leagues unless he is a wonder player, could even loan him out to a Conference team, he is a gamble. I would expect Turner to be ahead of him, but at present other strikers are preferred.

What we need is a couple of natural left footed players.

 

With the loss of Gunning and Denton we are short in this area.

 

It is unfair to ask Nathan Smith to play on the left hand side when he is a right footer and having Danny Pugh at left back is no long term solution.

We need a natural left back, a big, horrible bruising centre back and a box to box midfielder (hopefully Regis provides this). Today we were seriously overrun in midfield, especially the second half.

 

Would love to see some deadwood go, wether on loan or permanently.

Don’t see why Regis didn’t play some part today, I know he hasn’t played recently but he’s not been out through injury so will have trained every day.

We certainly need some legs in midfield,as good a passer as Tonge is he hasn't got the legs to chase in midfield every game,i thought Regis would be the answer but until he plays we wont know
