I dont think there will be any major changes,Smurthwaite still has a hold of his purse strings and he will be watching costs just as much as he has ever done.

I cant see anyone wanting to take any of Browns signings off us so we are stuck with them for another 18 months, thankfully the pressure has eased slightly so maybe a couple of loans returning and a couple coming in.

Is Aspin proving that you can make a silk purse from a sow's ear? There can be no doubting that we were a right mess before he arrived, however I do believe that he can only take the current bunch so far. Even if Preston do cash in on Hugill I have a sneaky feeling that 20% will go straight in to Norman's ******** pocket. It will be Aspins second biggest task, he has proven he can man manage now he must prove he can spot the talent. Having signed Jamie Vardy in the past I think the signs are looking good.

The job of guiding Vale away from the bottom two and safe in Lge2 is not yet finished hence assuming vale keep all the first team squad I would like to see three quality additions.

A striker with a record of scoring goals at this level, a creative midfield player and probably a goalkeeper, Lainton, although a decent keeper, is too injury prone and it's too important a position to reply on just Boot and a may or may not be fit Lainton, as sad as it is to say.

Keeping the Vale in Lge 2 is more important than size of squad.

Some non-league gems I've had my eye on for a while:

New CM: Jack Powell from Ebbsfleet - 23yo; energetic, creative midfielder with 14 goals in 60 games for Ebbsfleet. Exactly the type of young, up and coming player we should be looking at with a great 1 in 4 record from midfield. Free kick specialist.

New winger: James Hardy from AFC Fylde - 21yo; ex-Manchester City wideman scored 8 goals and 12 assists in 29 games as Fylde won the conference North last season.

New striker: Oladapo Afolayan from Solihull Moors - 20yo; Swansea, Leicester, Derby, Blackburn, Birmingham, Sheff Utd all watching him. Pacey forward with an impressive 8 goals in 26 appearances in the Conference this season for a team that are bottom of the league.

A striker is essential. Get rid of Forrester.

We need to try and sign Anderson and Whitfield on permanent deals.

Loan out our youngsters who don't feature (Turner, Calveley, Kelly, Slinn, Reeves)

I reckon a desperate team may come in for Wilson given the season he had last year.

I also wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to tempt Smith away.
