Brown is NOT the answer!

So you think our next manager should be someone who's only managed 2 games, that right yeah?

Brown must be given his chance as it seems he is someone who Norman trusts & hopefully will be allowed to bring in his own players and backroom team at least until the end of the season. The mess we are in needs a lot of sorting and i think brown is best placed as he knows the set up

Devils advocate to other posts,

The question is why did page have the power to sign players on high wages or re-sign existing players for the coming season without Normans knowledge?

Also if the players we let go in the summer are worse than the current first choice the minimum we can expect is a mid-table finish as thats what Page managed with so called dross players.

Was Bruno just a puppet on a string & fall guy as his influence seemed minimal especially with so many chiefs around him ,all his signings would have to have a seal of approval from above with a plan of action and within a budget.

at least with less people in charge and a better plan and focus plus signings this month should give us a chance of staying up -

Time will tell

I think 4 points from the 2 games, albeit against 2 very poor sides and no real improvement in the actual performances, is the least we should have hoped for. Now Brown has to have the transfer window and the rest of the season to try and keep us in league one.

Whilst I don't think another untried manager is what the chairman should be looking at and that the performances haven't improved (today being abysmal' date=' possibly the worst of the season) judging him after 2 games with a thread like this is bat **** crazy [/quote']

Good call and keep smurf out of player dealings to avoid the shower o **** we're paying now

Michael Brown may be the answer. He may not.

However, no point crying over spilt milk.

90% of this forum were warned that if the radical upheaval didn't work then it would set us back a season or two. And the ones who stated it were shot down for being 'negative'

Now it's happening.

Welcome to the real world.

In the words of a deluded chairman "we are where we are"

Sadly, we have another deluded chairman who has managed to get us into this predicament.

Every point is crucial until we (hopefully) get to the magical 50.

Alnwick can't keep saving us.

Positives under Brown is two clean sheets.

What I would like to see now is the idiot in charge of the club backing Brown or employing an experienced man.

If he gives it to Brown, it must be at least 12 to 18 months before he starts whining on twitter.

This squad is crap.

He sanctioned it.

It's a hell of a mess.

Yes, Michael Brown may be the cheap option but he is a hell of a character who will get his team (given time) playing with pride and passion.

Whether that's enough I don't know.

What I do know is that the person who is at the helm and making the big decisions, hasn't a clue 90% of the time, just like the previous incumbent he employed and the best we can hope for is that the major decisions he makes in the coming weeks fall into the 10% category.

It's January though and I'm sure a few players will come in and he will promote them on twitter and all the pilgrims will bow down to 'papa smurf' for putting his money in the club.

Failing to grasp he's spunking it down the drain because the man hasn't a ******* clue.

Already Brown has been dealt a dud hand with Jones leaving. He is now left with the Bruno band of brothers who we know are not good enough. Let Brown shuffle the pack and bring his own players in during the transfer window and take it from there. Who knows how good he is until he is given a chance !

I don't know at this stage if Brown is the answer or not but it's grossly unfair to judge him after two games. He's inherited a poor squad in a bit of a mess and then loses the only player who looked like scoring. His only option is to get back to basics and stop conceding and then slowly start rebuilding which certainly isn't going to happen overnight. I'm just thankful we aren't already in the drop zone and we got four points from the last two games without conceding albeit against poor opposition. Patience and stability is what's needed now not harsh knee jerk reactions.

The Eileen Grimshaws of the forum will be saying "why didn't you warn us" next, just as they did over V2001. It wont change .VTID.

Whats clear from reading this thread is the differing opinions everybody has!! the truth is nobody knows how things will pan out wether its Browny in charge or an 'experienced' Manager!

An experienced Manager is no guarantee that we will be successful look at Rudgie, who could have guaranteed that he would be successful? you just sometimes have to take a leap of faith and go with your gut instinct

At the moment Brown is in the box seat he's been here for a couple of years now under 3 Managers and a wealth of footballing experience/contacts in the game Norman has some idea of his attitude and committment so I say lets go with Brown and see at least until the end of the season to see what he can do!!

It's better than having someone that's got experience but got sacked everywhere he's been, which is what we'll be getting if we go for an 'experienced manager'. Browny has been a top pro, respected by the team, played under some successful managers and has his coaching badges. Not to mention contacts around the game from his 20 years of playing (Ryan Taylor signing a key example). I'd say he's just as qualified as any of the other supposed candidates we have. Let's give him a chance eh, seen as he got us 4 points in 2 games!

Don't know if Brown is the answer or not but you can't judge him after 2 games against very poor opposition with him given the squad he has been given, but I think we can safely say he can't do any worse than Bruno.

The problem we have is that we have a chairman who IMO will not get the answer if it's not Brown so let's hope for the clubs sake that Brown can do a really good job.
