  1. I clapped. I told them to get their heads up and go again Saturday. I did it because as fans we have nothing else left we can do. These players are the only ones who can get us out of this. We've got two massive games on Saturday and Tuesday. We need to stay behind them until the end now. Giving them a round of <ovf censored> and booing them will do nowt. Showing them we're backing them just might. Give the players/the club/the recruitment team etc... both barrels if we do go down. Anyone who knows me will tell you that if I don't think they're putting it in, I'll let them know. But right now the only option as fans is giving every bit of support we can (even if it looks like the players aren't). At least we've done our bit then.

  3. im at that point of not wanting to watch this team anymore. the gulf between vale and pboro is embarrassing and depressing at the same time. and theyre not bigger a club than vale. just better run by people who know what theyre doing. the season cant end fast enough and the thought of watching this lot next season regardless which division we are in is an even more horrific prospect.

  4. Ah yes, "shooting from the hip" - another tired cliche used by people who don't know what to say to explain themselves, but want to sound relevant and with it. Don't confuse "burying my head in the sand" with me taking a less reactionary and more moderate stance on the Vale than you, though it's an easy mistake to make for an idiot. What is it that you see with your head out of the sand, you <ovf censored>? Your response to everything seems to run to the extreme immediately, which is simply attention seeking garbage. Another meaningless cliche - "cloud cuckoo land" - I suspect you don't even know what you mean by that either, but it's just a way of trying to put you "in the real world" and diminish the opinion of "happy clappers" as you term them, ie the fans who refuse to join you in going ballistic when things go wrong, and discuss things reasonably without shouting. Keep crying the tears of a clown Nappy Soiler, and watch how many people can't be bothered with your negativity and crass opinions. I'll continue to support the Vale my way, and leave you to your cliches and your multiple emojis, you one trick keyboard plonker. I'll leave you to get back to your crayoning and cliche collection.

  5. That's fine but there was a small group last night who made there way to a prominent position so they could boo the players and give then some verbals... incredibly stupid at this point. We were completely outclassed last night by the best team I have seen us play this season. We already know we aren't very good. Everyone knows we aren't very good, including the players. However whilst we have a chance we have to support them.

  6. I also clapped the players at the end and I am quite astounded at the mentality of some of our fans. I didn't clap because they were good, they weren't. I didn't clap because I was happy, I wasn't. I clapped because they are all we have and we need them on Saturday and giving them a round of verbals at this stage is staggeringly backwards. We still have a really good shot at staying in the league, we have just had 3 away games on the bounce and we are only in the relegation zone on goal difference. At the start of March I said if we are still in the hunt going into the last 4 games we have a great chance... If you want to boo them and tell them they are <ovf censored>, then please stay away for now because that ship sailed long ago. We have to back them unconditionally until we know our fate.

  7. I know it's not a great example. Luton were expected to be the laughing stock of the Premier league. They've taken the lead at Anfield, lost 4-3 to Arsenal. Led against Man City. Etc etc. Really given it a go and given their fans some joy. I just don't like this passive approach when we play the so called bigger fish. Some of the performances against the top six sides have been disgraceful. 9 nils in 11 tells the tale. Far too much respect paid. And I understand we didn't need a 5 goal hammering but those hardy souls who took time off work and spent their hard earned cash deserved better than A) The team selection B) The bowing down to Peterborough

  8. I'd prioritise the next game whoever that was against. We can't afford to just roll over and give 3 points away. If I went in to work and said to my boss, sorry I'm just drifting through today because I'm going to give it everything next week I don't think I'd be there long Sent from my XQ-CC54 using onevalefan mobile app

  9. I’ve been following the Vale for 55 years , and I hate it when we lose , whether it’s the league or the tin pot trophy , it’s all the same. “ I don’t mind “ doesn’t do it for me.

  10. While Ripley isn’t amazing, he is the least of our worries. We won’t be relegated because of him. His performances are acceptable.

  11. The problem you have, and I’m all for giving Darren Moore a chance, is that when you set your side up like that and basically throw in the towel before a ball is kicked, then you have to win the next game with attacking football and keep our survival alive. If we’d give our all tonight and failed on Saturday it’s a debate to be had. If we now fail on Saturday after that shower tonight then questions, rightly or wrongly, will come the managers way.

  12. Spinning singing a defender on a short term deal who's never played in the EFL and hasn't played at all since October when he managed 9 minutes in the American second division, especially when we're about to be relegated to league 2, as "Carol has once again shown her financial commitment with an promising new signing as the club begin to build for next season." Behave.

  13. Think that's bit pathetic Stamford. When we have an owner who, for the very first time in my memory (1957 started watching) who has actually invested in the club rather than shafting it that is poor mate. £11,000,000 is it at the last count? If it was me and you were a typical fan I would just say 'uk you'. Are you going to fill the gap? The Shanahan's (particularly Carol) deserve our support at the minute IMHO

  14. I can see why Moore went with the tactics he did. As he could not see us beating them by going for it. Unfortunately it resulted in us hardly putting a glove on them, making us probably look worse than had he played a more attacking line up. Actually not probably but did. However bar for some rotten luck it could have come close to getting us a point. Yes I know they missed chances, but that's their problem. The first goal to come seconds before half time, from two deflections, was awful luck. Timing could not have been worse. The penalty was Needless. Then an own goal for the third. I'm not saying if not for those we would have got a point. But for some awful luck, we could have come close. I know to watch it was awful, but to try and get that point, it was the only way to set up, with players we had. It didn't work out, as once we went behind we don't have the quality to overturn that sort of team. No need to go on about what Carlisle did. I would guess that was a bad day at the office and a weakened team. I expected us to get beat by Peterborough. What I did not expect was Carlisle to beat Cheltenham. So we are still better off than I expected. After that performance I feel the players will be strongly motivated for Exeter. Just need the Gas to get their players off the beach in Magaluff. We do have a tougher run in than Cheltenham. But the do seem to have gone to pieces lately. So still hope. Apologies for babbling on so much. Just hit a bored moment in the day. 15. Wynne! The bloke who has not played any football since October gets a start in our most important game. You gotta be kidding. Even at his very very best his career profile is very dubious and starting him would be a wild gamble. Personally given that yesterday was such a write off, the clever decision would have been to have given him some minutes last night.

  16. That’s fine but now isn’t the time to boo. I’m more critical and negative than anyone but booing will get us nowhere. There is 4 games left. Let’s back them all the way and try our best to ensure we can see league 1 football next season. If we are relegated with more flat performances, they will be plenty of time to vent and boo after the Cambridge match. For now, we have to get behind them as we have been doing

  17. Tougher games than some are suggesting. Especially with Exeter and Wycombe. I’d snap your hand off for 4 points from the next two. We will lose at Bolton and then it’s down to the final day in a game we have a decent chance in. If we are to have any hope, Moore needs to start with our better players. I know Chislett hasn’t been great since the turn of the year, but he’s still one of, if not our most creative player and has to start. For me, Uche has to start. He can cause havoc. Loft, Massey, Walters and Lowe cannot start another game if we have any interest in staying up.

  18. I’m also genuinely astounded people clapped the players at the end. I didn’t boo, just walked out. Please can someone who clapped explain it. We’d just watched an absolutely gutless, cowardly and frankly <ovf censored> display of football.

  19. “Prioritise”? Its league one football. The last thing I would do against ANY league 1 team is park the bus behind a bus and another bus and basically give a team three points before a ball is kicked. Tonight was an abomination. Regardless of what’s to come. We waved the white flag at 6.45pm when the team news was announced. It was three. Could have been 7. Their goalkeeper had his easiest night of the season. Half time stats showed we were successful in 33% of our tackles. I am all for putting your eggs in one basket with the three home games but tonight was unforgivable with how we approached it. Dont go gung ho. Keep it tight. But don’t <ovf censored> quit before a ball was kicked. It was free hit. Unforgiveable.

  20. First off ... they paid well over the odds to keep our club in existence and no an alternative Fairy Godmother was not standing in the wings. Secondly ... in addition to buying the club the Shanahan's provided the finance to take us into league 1. Thirdly ... the investment to ensure the club could and can play at Vale Park has been £11M Finally Someone who put nothing into Vale and took everything out ... Flitcroft is the culprit and Carol's mistake was to Trust him. Perhaps we need to show support not belittle.

  22. Said I would make the last two home matches on a Saturday and just got me and my daughter’s ticket. Travel down from Sheffield and let’s see where this coming Saturday takes us. Last chance saloon time me thinks but that’s the Vale for you. Daughter is buzzing just hope the lads put a shift in deserving of the fans and the shirt they wear. See you on Saturday and let’s hope for a win.

  23. I didn't have a problem with us trying to contain them, but the fact remains when we did get the ball we were hopeless. Loft has reverted to type after two good games and is dire. Him up front on his own was laughable, but not as laughable as whatever Ikpeazu was up to when he came on. But the fact is our forward options are poor, put together by Flitcroft and Crosby and now a manager who probably deep down knows none of them are good enough has to make do because he arrived after Flitcroft's last abhorrent transfer window and has no other option. For all those criticising Plant, he's a 19 year old up against a million pound player and stuck to his task well. He was the best of a poor bunch last night. And whatever division we're in next year, I would really like for us to get a better keeper to compete with Ripley. He has some good points but his arrogance is unbelievable, Smith was right to dig him out for p*ssing about with it in the second half, but he knows he will play every week. I don't like the fact he wants to join in with the defence, that he farts about 30 yards away from his goal, and occasionally making a good save doesn't make up for his deficiencies. He's nowhere near the standard of a Goodlad, Neal or Brown. He's got another year so I would love if we let Leutwiler go and bring in another, good young keeper who will push him.

  26. You just don't get it do you? Crack on with the name calling and jerk off reactions - "pub player", "we'll be in the Vanarama" - it suits your moronic character brilliantly, and confirms your clown status on here. Nappy Soiler - juvenile and keeps crapping himself and getting angry each time we lose - so appropriate.

  30. That’s my view although I’m not sure about the “free hit” bit. Posh were on a different level with and without the ball, quicker and sharper all over the pitch. We simply couldn’t cope. When we won the ball they won it back with too much ease. The only positive was we didn’t lose by more. I was truly worried when I saw our team. The whole thing highlighting again just how dire our recruitment has been.

  31. Unpopular opinions Ripley is one of the most overrated keepers I can remember at Vale. Bottom end L1 GK.He wouldn't get any any of the top 8 teams. He's x10 better than Stone and Stephenson from last year which is why fans think he is good. Smith is a fantastics L2 player, he's not a L1 defender. Sell Garrity 1m + to reinvest in the team. Plant, Walters, Shorrock,Dipepa shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st eleven. All players with potential to develop and bring in and out of the match day squads and from the bench here and there.

  34. First things first Peterborough are the best team I've seen this season and the left side of Burrow and Mason Clark will give better sides than us problems but we didn't really give ourselves a chance last night. Plant did his best but it was clear from the first five minutes that we'd have problems down that side and we did nothing to combat it. We didn't change formation to combat their wide play and it was just a matter of time before they scored. I know their goals came via a deflection, a penalty and an own goal but your glass is more than half full if you think we were unlucky in any shape or form. We treated the game like a free hit and have placed all our hopes on the home games. Hopefully it'll be a successful tactic.

  35. Generally hate the faffing about at the back full stop. its not as if we have the ability with our centre half’s to find any killer passes or passes at all.
    3 points
  36. When I posted my 'glass half empty' quote yesterday quite a few people came back with Burton and Cheltenham have no form at all and we will be OK. We have just picked up 1 point from 9 and not scored. Before that we had beaten a Bristol Rovers team that are being beaten for fun and not scored in the last 7 matches ! My glass is even less full than last night knowing we will probably get thumped at Bolton so we can't rely on goal difference and Burton still have to play Cheltenham and Fleetwood.

  37. Let's go through that 11 tonight I'll discount Ripley, Smith and Garrity as they are the only players I would start with each week Lowe - not league 1 standard Iacovetti - likewise Grant - career over Walters - non league Massey - nothing player Plant - not a defender Ojo - has given up Loft - National league at best Subs Chissy - not league 1 standard Dipepa - not ready yet Uche - immobile Shorrock - not ready yet What a depressing line up, seriously would struggle in league 2 Although no world beaters Debrah or Lopata have got to start before Lowe in a back 3 Terrible loans in January, Gore, Mighten, Weir, Williams. Why did we bother with any of these It's all a bit depressing Sent from my XQ-CC54 using onevalefan mobile app

  38. Also, do our players know what a tackle is? The amount of times we just let them run through the midfield without laying a finger on them was unbelievable. Was nice to see Uche actually get stuck into one or two of them near the end of the game, would’ve been nice to see before the 85th minute.

  39. So, you and him are manager for the Bolton game. ”Right lads. If you lose tonight, we don’t mind because these are a good team” Yeah mate. Makes loads of sense that. We were defeated before we kicked a ball tonight. That kind of attitude stinks.

  40. It was at times unbelievable how much respect we gave them there centre half's charging up the field playing give and goes . They only way you beat teams like that is high press I really didn't understand why we kept letting them pass to poku and lad from Barnet all night it truly was a freak goal there first after that it was how many such were how woeful we were We must have played at Wembley on Mon and Tues judging by how slow and lethargic we were . I watched that Fleetwood game it was worse than that and that's saying something . Loft offered nothing and if he is the first line of defence its no wonder teams get out so easily . Too many players hid tonight . I don't care if Peterborough are a good side which they are but if you allow teams play you get what you deserve . Quite frankly at times second half I thought we would lose 6 or 7 That in itself is a massive disrespect to every paying follower /supporter tonight . It was embarrassingly bad . Why did we not play like a team who want to get out of the relegation zone ? We didn't we played like a team who were told its OK if get relegated and Crawley bring 30 fans Seemed like it to me

  45. For our manager to put an effort to actually come back with at least a point. I never expected anything other than defeat but still went to the game in hope we might get a surprise win, like Carlisle did a a few weeks ago (who are now already relegated). I nearly walked out 10 minutes before kick off when I saw Moore’s pathetic approach. If we beat Exeter on Saturday, all will be forgiven by most fans, and some will say it was the correct decision, but I can tell you now, I for one won’t make the same mistake again and go to Bolton for what again, will be a really important match.
