  2. Loft was excellent today. I hope the guy who was bad mouthing him at the Supporters Club meeting was there to see it.

  3. What I love about that is how happy the players are for Loft. They know the stick he’s been getting has been a disgrace. Loft seems low key when it goes in too, understandably so given how some fans have been with him. I’m happy for Loft. He’s been the scapegoat for Flitcrofts failings. I hope he can shake that now.

  4. Think it’s important to point out that 95%+ of Vale fans haven’t given Loft any public stick. There’s a minority of idiots but fans were chanting his name before kick off yesterday.

  5. Got the biggest grin on my face watching the pitch-side video of the goal celebrations. Garrity and Yak absolutely love it.

  6. What a terrible season its been on and off the pitch. But somehow after yesterdays win we are in with a sniff of pulling off a miracle the only way i think we can get ourselves out of this is if we pack the park. Our last home games are all winnable and i think if we were to win them wed stay up. Id like the club to offer cheaper tickets to get bums on seats. Its the start of a new dawn flitcroft is gone although left in position far to long weve all finally got our wishes. Bring family/mates along lets do our bit to push the lads on . They showed fight and passion yesterday lets get vale park rocking for the first time since the hamil switch. I truly believe if we do it can give the players that extra bit in terms of belief to try and get us over the line. we have been fantastic this season considering what weve been put through this season but now is the time to put that all to bed and create some noise in the right way. We are all vale. We all want league one next year. Lets help achieve this.

  7. And someone on here said he almost put it over the bar just so they could say something negative about it 🤣 it’s a good finish with a defender sliding in.

  8. No he didn't,he had 2 players on the line so for me it was perfectly blasted into the roof of the net.... that should hopefully give him much needed confidence going into the last 8 games and also give him breathing space from the fans which will also help him imo A MASSIVE well done Lofty lad

  9. Well worth the trip over! After last year's visit to Accrington I saw a world of difference in yesterday's performance. It wasn't pretty first half but I've seen us cave this season under that kind of pressure. They were a big outfit and we repelled all boarders at those long throws and free kicks. Second half there was only one team trying to play football but i thought it was going to be one of them days when Ben's header thumped the post in front of us. Credit to 'em though and the goal was after brilliant work from Lofty in different ways. Again, when Blackman,(how big is he?) got a touch on Chizzy's shot and it trickled against the post I thought we'd shot it but Loft, Loft will tear you apart again. Cue limbs around me and at 66 my bad knees and hip just about stood up to it! Thought Loft was excellent all game....not the most accomplished of centre forwards I've ever seen but looks like he may be settling in. I've seen where people said he nearly missed the goal...he didn't. It was right in front of me and he had to get it up and over the bodies throwing themselves at him. Good finish I thought. i thought he'd done everything right first half but seemed to just roll it the wrong side of the post. Oh well, onwards and upwards with that effort and never say die defending.......doctor, there's still a pulse. Off to get flight home but i'll be there in spirit on iFollow on Friday. SVA

  10. Loft has had a pretty dismal season but it’s not been down to a lack of effort. That’s why a lot of the criticism has been harsh and unnecessary, including the comments on Thursday.

  11. Watching all the videos of the goal and the players celebrating its obvious that the players haven't thrown the towel in, the fight spirit and aggression that's been missing was back in spades on Saturday. Sent from my SM-A217F using onevalefan mobile app

  12. So pleased for Ryan Loft. The chance he missed he did everything right apart from score, sprinted away from the defender, got the ball under control, got his body shape right and steadied himself but just put it wide, I thought it had gone in. He continually plugged away and fought for every ball. In the breakaway that led to Vale's goal, he made himself available for Chisslet's pass, gave it Chissy back with Chislett in a better position to score and stayed with the attack. When the ball came back off the post he fired it high into the net as their defender slid in and could've blocked it had the ball been along the ground. Hope this raises his confidence levels and he scores a few which keeps us up.

  16. Why do people keep saying Colin Garlick? What he does in football is completely different to what a Director of Football or some kind of recruitment placement. It's like saying the nurse that takes care of you in hospital should also carry out your operation

  17. Just negotiating with the Minister for War and Entertainment. Planning to be up on Friday for the Rovers game. Possibly do the Northants game too. Whatever happens will be back up for Cambridge game.

  18. Most clubs in professional football have one. Carol needs some at director level who understands the game inside and out. I’d aim to replace Flitcroft with someone working in a recruitment department at a very successful club relative to budget - Brentford, Luton, even Lincoln etc - and allow them to build a team. None of this ridiculous philosophy and mass infrastructure stuff. Focus on signing good footballers who are undervalued by others. A far more limited remit, which will allow them to focus on fewer things with more detail. Recruitment should be the number 1 measure they’re judged against.

  19. Our worst performance of the season was away at Fleetwood. In my opinion Loft was the only one who was trying in the game.

  21. The past is gone we can’t change it but what we can change is the now & the future, so let’s all pull together and get behind all the lads , it’s amazing what a difference a bit of confidence & positivity can do to a player and we need all of the players to produce their best right now.

  22. Deduct them 30 points. They've had their niceties from us for the season.

  23. Colin Garlick was not or will ever be a D of F. His role was more to do with the administration side of the club a bit like Bill Lodey's role. Colin had no input to the football side of things. He didn't scout he didn't recruit and didn't advise on any football policy. If we are to go with another director of football it won't be Colin.

  25. I actually thought he did everything right with that chance in the first half. Keeper got in a good position to narrow down the angle, just unfortunate that he couldn't squeeze it inside the post.

  26. Watching the goal back I noticed it was loft who won the defensive header in the first place and was probably the furthest player from there goal at that point then within a few seconds the lad is flying past there entire team to link the breakaway up perfectly 👍

  27. Tell me all these games where he’s not tried?

  28. Again, Im going to point this out and ask the question because no one's answered yet but why do people think that Colin Garlick should replace Flitcroft?? It's turning out to be the one of the most bizarre thing's to see people saying it should be Colin Garlick.

  31. For me Martin Foyle would be a good head of recruitment and to be Carol's football advisor in the Boardroom. Whoever is appointed needs to get on well with Darren Moore, be good at PR with supporters, offer good advice, but keep a low profile in team matters. The perfect template was John Rudge in his time with that other team in partnership with Tony Pulis. Rudgie is ideal where he is now so that role is not for him now. There may be others, but so far Tin is the man for me. Leon Legge has no experience beyond playing. Neil Warnock, great manager, but not an advisor. Nothing will happen until the season is over I feel.

  32. Club tweeted it and presume it’s on their Facebook and insta page too. Can see how happy all Lofts teammates are for him

  33. Moore’s biggest strength, when you look at his other clubs, is building confidence and morale - an often overlooked part of football. We’ve all seen the video from Sheff Weds where Bannan credits Moore with maintaining confidence after the 4-0 defeat which they overturned in the semis. Yesterday the players looked right up for the fight and out-of-form players like Smith and Loft had their best games of the season. Massey came on and was straight into it. Yak was back to his usual aggressive self. There was a clear shift in morale. The big caveat is that Burton are crap, but so were Shrewsbury and Fleetwood - Moore has got something into this group during the last week. I’m not convinced it’ll be enough to win 4-5 more, but there were signs yesterday that he can turn this oil tanker around - even if that happens next season.

  34. Agreed with that . I've seen a fantastic video put together of the goal on twitter Al capones in it finished with really funny man Will Ferrell going it's BEAUTIFUL well it is when Vale win and deserve too . 8 cup finals left and Lofts confidence and the whole teams heads lifted . Does it really matter what went on in the past it's the present what counts . Today Sunday lunch will taste all the more sweeter . I'm.absolutely buzzing for Loft though there's no fans who want players do badly yesterday is the start of something special. Vale seemed really together for the first time in ages . Didn't even look at score till half time had my own little protest going on only turned on my box after loft scored . Scenes at end brilliant 👏. Well done Vale

  36. You know what, iv said a couple of times this week that if I wasnt out with the boys, id unboycott meself for this - So,.....anyway, typing this, I'm getting a bit teary eyed for Lofty - iv always supported the underdog, and I'm so so so pleased for the lad. He deserves every nice comment on here tonight to be emailed to him, to showewhat he means to us after today - shoot, im tearing up again - knew I should have stayed over in stafford 😍😍😍😍😍 See you all in the Hamil And Lofty - we LUV YOU 😍😍😍😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

  38. Really good dogged performance. Every single player put a shift in. Loft was superb over the 90 minutes other than that atrocious miss. Isnt it amazing when the meddling piece of <ovf censored> in Flitcroft gets relieved of his duties. The cancer in the club has gone. Hope.

  39. It's not beyond the realm of possibilities that we could be 19th by tea time Friday.

  40. Was great to hear the majority singing his name as encouragement after the miss too. Some critics forget with the amount of chances we create Lofty would have to have a chance-to-goal conversion rate > Haaland’s or Kane’s for him to have had just a handful of goals this season.

  42. I don’t know. I’ve see plenty a game here he’s not tried. All criticism of a striker with his record is well deserved in my opinion. Did well today though and hopefully a platform for him and us to build on
