  1. Fans have supported their team. All season. Home and away. Let’s stop rallying the fans crap eh? From now on in it will stop IF we fail to get three points on Saturday. We have a such a small squad supported by youth lads because of extortionate wages on extortionate crap. Its not rocket science.

  2. Just playing devils advocate here and I get your personal opinion. But how do you explain a 48% win ratio at West Brom, a 45% win ratio at Doncaster and a 51% win ratio at Sheffield Wednesday including a promotion through the play offs having accumulated almost 100 points? You don’t just become a bad manager overnight. He’s walked into our club with a clutch of players who are crap. That’s the crux of the situation. Even Klopp wouldn’t get a tune out of this lot. And isn’t it true that you had massive injuries when he was with you? Obviously all opinions differ and I’ll reserve judgement until he at least gets a summer, unless Flitcroft has control of that summer, in which case he will become another one of Flitcrofts scapegoats.

  4. Do you really think I like what's happened to the team that was challenging for 2nd place, not so long ago? If you think I like that, because I declare myself to be a Happy Clapper is stupidity itself! But I keep looking for the positives because I don't want to turn into one of the toxic gobshites on here, who regularly hurl insults, and patronising and sexist comments towards our owner - forgetting that she is a successful and award-winning businesswoman who has just sold her business (or, one of them?) for more money then the yappies on here will ever see in their lives? I refuse to become one of the idiots who think nothing of defaming a person's character, and slandering them based upon rumour, hearsay, imaginary events and a complete lack of knowledge of events, or evidence of wrongdoing, or any other reason than they take a dislike to that person, or believe that a League 1 club shouldn't have the setup that we have, because Rudgie didn't - all those decades ago! I refuse to lower myself to the name-calling, and personal sleights against people they don't even know, in person. Don't expect me to think it's ever a good thing to boo an individual player - are you really so stupid that you think it might help? Or that such a mean-spirited creature that you don't even care what effect you may have on another human being? Don't tell me I only see the small picture - I actually do see the larger picture...and, for some of you, it's very ugly indeed. UTV KTF VTID and keep Happy Clapping - because the alternative is bloody awful!!!!!

  7. Top 12 without a striker?

  8. Releasing Benning was the right thing to do, not having a better replacement was criminal. I’m a massive fan of Worrall, but the same could be said for him, although I think he could have still played a big part for 2 seasons. Releasing Pett was absolutely stupid, especially as it was to make way for 2 loan signings, where are they now?

  9. “Support the players.” Fans have done that all season. ”Will the ball into the goal” You are sounding stupid. That’s an impossible scenario. It’s just a virtue signaling saying. ”Perform the great escape” It really isn’t the great escape at all. Even if we had an half decent defence and a striker that could score we’d give ourselves half a chance! Pathetic rallying cries are long gone with this pathetic shower we are watching. Heres an idea. Maybe radical. But how about instead of concentrating on fans supporting the club and willing the ball in the net, which they have all season…… the actual bottle jobs on the pitch start repaying the fans and give US something to cling to and shout about. Proof is in the pudding with this shower of <ovf censored>. Theyve got Saturday to make amends or it will turn nasty.

  12. Just making ppl aware of what is probably a scam email. I’ve been contacted as it’s my birthday soon stating that I can attend a game for £79 three course meal sit in corporate seating. None of that concerned me it was the last sentence that did, when it said, I could be present for the man of the match award.

  13. I don’t set out to insult you. If you go to a restaurant and you pay 25 quid for a cold steak and burnt chips and the person serving it to you abused you, then I take it that you pay your bill and smile and go back next week? If you go to the pub and have a warm pint for 5 quid and a bag of crisps out of date, you’d thank them and go back the following night? If you went to work and those around you were on 2000 pounds a week and not putting any effort in, yet you were an up and coming lad, who puts a shift in and tries his best on 300 quid a week, you’d have no problem with that would you? If your Mrs went out for weeks on end and you knew she was having an affair. Would you not be angry? Would you not be whiny? Would you not be a miserable son of a wretch? As you put it? Probably just best to clap along and accept. You see Tony, you keep debating with me. You will end up getting personal because your debate does not stand up. There is NOTHING wrong with “happy clapping”. Why? Because it’s everybody’s choice. People have choices in life. But I merely stated in my first post to not moan when you’re freezing in the paddock, potentially pissing in a portaloo again, after going one down against Crawley in front of 2500. I would also suggest, only my opinion Tony, going off what you posted, is that if you’re just happy clapping for your health, then you aren’t truly invested in the club, have no fight, and therefore turn up, watch the football, clap good or bad and go home. Each to their own pal. I would rather be a man and stand up and be counted and fight for this club. Have a wonderful day.

  18. Fans have every right to boo and vent frustration when it calls for it. Like now. The players are (mostly) grown adults who should understand that, and channel their own frustration and ours into something more productive. Being a soft touch because you’re low on confidence and things not going well, perhaps it’s not for you. If it can’t be recognised the fans intentions are actually in the right place, then they should move on. Support comes in many forms. Would it better if supporters just walk away because they are a bit soft? They should be more worried people will not turn up to pay their wages, or react at all. Silence is deafening and all that.

  20. I totally bought into DM being our manager but puzzled by the 5.5 year contract. I thought he’d be his own man rattle some cages a no nonsense manager. I thought this is what we needed after that Victoria Sponge AC had departed. DM is worse, he’s fallen straight into line and doing exactly what he’s told, Mr Corporate. I’d suggest if the club want to bring in any money they should do a rendition of The Wizard of Oz. Loft could play Dorothy, on second thoughts, no she was a leader. Boomer could play Toto, her, him whose name I refuse to have in mouth and DM could play the main characters. One of them needs a brain, another a heart and the other one courage. Then we could have a press conference saying how lucky we are to have these characters at our little club. Because that’s what missing at our club, by those in charge.

  21. I'm sure there is a very good explanation and I'm sure no-one would care about it if we were top of the table. However, the issue is that it gives the impression that regular fans don't matter.

  22. First time Post on here, be gentle with me. Surely having a DoF in place for three seasons who has bought in a lot of players, the new manager should not have to bring in three teenagers from the academy to play against a team near the top of the league. It seem to me that DM was making a statement about the players he's inherited. Only one person to blame there.

  23. Exactly mate for Lee Gregory see Loft. For Bailey Dipepa see Michael Smith. Vale and Sheffield Wednesday are so polar opposite. Wednesday had to get promoted. Moore facilitated that however he had the players at his disposal and arguably the best player in League one Bannan. Coming to Vale is a huge culture change in size of clubs. But that doesn't mean we accept this current garbage.

  25. I am just trying to give you insight in to what your Club has done. It’s not going well is it?, playing bottom off the table sides, no new Manager bounce and no wins. It will not get any better, hopefully though you won’t allow it to get to 23 turgid games like we did.
    1 point
  26. So how do you explain 3 wins out of 6 (and a credible draw against Leeds) since he has gone against Moores 3 wins out of 23?.

  27. It’s not a question of being right. I just genuinely don’t understand how he gets a gig, I don’t. Since he has gone, honestly, I cannot articulate the improvement, it’s huge, immense. It’s like watching a completely different Team apart from the shirts are the same. We are up against it because of him, and only him and thanks for the best wishes. I really hope your fortunes improve but listen to me here. You have so much to look forward to, you really do. You will feel like we do when he goes and you get somebody (anybody) in to get you going again. The relief is palpable.

  29. Why would it stop after Saturday? Fans will back the team at least until we’re mathematically relegated. Beyond that the vast majority will still back the team, no different to when we’ve been relegated in the past. The only thing that happens is during the game itself, goals for or against will change the atmosphere and no doubt the way supporters express them selves.

  30. Abusing people now because you are a little bit slow. nice one!

  31. I just think that supporting the team will have a better impact than abusing them. I don't think the players are as bad as they are showing currently and I think AC should have had his squad in the top 12 before January. That being said, we need a proper clear out of players in the summer regardless of what league we are in. Players like Massey, Ojo, Loft, Wilson and Jones have proved they're either not good enough or not prepared to do everything for the shirt. We also need to look at the playing budget - how have we got such a small squad supported by under 18s? And finally, we need a new head of player recruitment - the last 3 transfer windows have left gaping holes in the squad that is gross misconduct - it can't happen again in the summer.

  32. I haven't agreed with much you have said over the last few months however I totally agree with you here. I'm as fed up as the next person and I started raising my concerns last April with how let down I was feeling as a fan. I will however never resort to name calling, personal abuse of anyone (including other fans) in order to show my passion for the club. I also don't think lining the players up and giving them a mouthful would help. I think we have to support the players, will that ball into the goal (or at least towards it for the first time in a while) in the hope that we can perform the great escape. At the end of the season lots of questions need to be asked and for me, the sooner DF is out of the club the better. I'm certain we can find someone else to do his job better, they could hardly do it any worse

  33. You see, you carry on debating with me and you carry on making yourself look stupid. You go and quote me on where I once said I expect or even want Darren Moore to be sacked. Then go and quote me on where I said I want Carol to sell up. You go and waste your night hunting those quotes. You won’t. Because I’ve never said that. I want one man fired and that’s David Flitcroft. And you sound quite angry there. Hit a nerve have I? Thought you were just constantly happy! Clap clap clap. Enjoy your night.

  34. Of all the <ovf censored> you've just written, "rather be a man" is the worst, most pathetic of all! Suggesting you're more of a man than me because I refuse to whinge and complain, and boo and selectively target people for abuse, and slander people and suggest that professional people are not bothered that things are going wrong is a shameful supposition to make! If that makes you a man - it's a poor world we live in! As to your shopping analogies - if you went into any of the shops in which you normally spend money, and didn't like the service you received, you have every right to complain...but you couldn't (shouldn't) expect the Manager to be sacked or the owner to sell up? If you think you have that right - go - "be a man", Spunkie!

  37. Surely as a fan we all want Vale to climb to the highest it possibly can and not just want to be stable and hover bottom end league one and league two? otherwise what's the point. I am lucky enough to see all the highs we had under Rudge but also many many lows but as a fan i would love nothing more than for the Vale to be battling it out in the Championship again

  38. Yes the fans need an explanation and quick. Not once has Moore apologised to the Fans . Carol needs to grow a pair, admit to her mistakes and failings and do something about it and quick. HOW CAN She give a failure of a Manager who had 3 wins out of 23, a FIVE and HALF YEAR Contract. His first interview he said he wanted his Players to represent the local community and Fan base, he can’t even get most of the players to give 100% effort let alone Play Football.

  39. I have to be honest folks. I have zero confidence in any decision being made at Port Vale FC at the moment. Where does this leave me? Probably walking way after 49 years unless there is significant response/ change. There seems to be a 'plan' that will not be deviated from, whatever circumstances prevail. It feels wrong, has done for some time and recent statements and decisions prove to me that the Club is in freefall, crashing and burning, hell-bent on destroying any foundation laid a few years back. Sad really but it will be the supporters who suffer most apart from significant financial losses incurred by the Shanahan's, which look as though they will only get worse.

  40. I agree that being positive is much better for your health , but sticking one’s head in the sand and refusing to face reality is not good . You can be a Happy Clapper , fair enough . However , I think you’re seeing the smaller picture . This is a bad situation that we find ourselves, and I’m thinking that it may be worse next season. It’s not who’s right or wrong , it’s just sad.

  41. It’s not. You’re correct. It’s a waste of a wage though. Like most. 100% is the MINIMUM any footballer should give. That’s a given. Talent wise he ain’t worth half of that. And that lies with the DOF who has sanctioned these signings and wages.

  42. I can't dispute the disaster zone we are currently languishing in, and something's gotta change; equally I know who I'd change, but................a horny little angel wearing purple 💜 I luv lucas Jim jams keeps pouring honey in my ear and whispering "There's a wise old tale, about the same old hell, only the devil will change." Aka, Hoppers, be careful what you wish for Aka could it even get worse if auntie Carol has a purge I can't see an easy ride out of this mess; for me, if he Inna going, best case scenario as others have mentioned, is let flitcroft keep building his Lego dressing rooms and offices, and get someone who actually knows about recruitment to work with DM - I think we will be thankful of our manager if his hands are kept untied 👍👍👍

  43. I really feel for her to be honest. She's ploughed literally millions into the club, heart and soul, entrusted Flitcroft with the football side and she's been badly let down by his mismanagement. I keep coming back to it but the senior players he has signed ( except Garrity) have been a disgrace to the profession. The players and the families have been well looked after by Carol and this is the thanks she has had.

  44. The plan: (Made simple for <ovf censored> heads) Running a football club with limited financial resources requires careful planning, strategic decision-making, and a focus on long term sustainability. Here are some key principles that such a club should consider lads: 1. Financial prudence:The club should prioritize financial stability above short-term success. This means avoiding excessive spending on player wages and transfer fees that could lead to financial strain. Implementing strict budgeting and financial controls is essential to ensure that the club operates within its means. 2. Investing in youth development: Developing a strong youth academy can be a cost-effective way to nurture homegrown talent and provide a pipeline of players for the first team. By investing in youth development programs, the club can reduce reliance on expensive transfers and build a strong foundation for the future. 3. Scouting and recruitment: Instead of competing for high priced signings in the transfer market, the club should focus on scouting and recruiting talented players with potential. This requires a robust scouting network and a thorough analysis of player performance and potential. Signing players on free transfers or loan deals can also be a cost effective strategy. 4. Maximizing revenue streams: While the club may not have the financial resources of larger clubs, it can still explore opportunities to maximize revenue streams. This could include increasing ticket sales through affordable pricing, securing sponsorship deals with local businesses and leveraging digital and merchandising opportunities to engage fan and generate additional income. 5. Community engagement: Building strong ties with the local community can provide valuable support and resources for the club. This could involve hosting community events, engaging with local schools and youth organizations, and partnering with local busineses to promote the club and its activities. A loyal and engaged fan base can provide crucial support, both financially and emotionally, during challenging times. 6. Long term planning: The club should adopt a strategic approach to planning, with clear short-term and long-term objectives. This includes setting realistic targets for on field performance, financial sustainability, and infrastructure development. By establishing a clear vision and direction, the club can make informed decisions that support its overall goals. Overall, running a football club with limited financial resources requires a combination of prudent financial management, strategic planning, and a focus on building strong relationships with fans and the local comunity. By prioritizing sustainability and investin in the development of homegrown talent, such a club can overcome financial challenges and thrive in the long term etc etc etc. I imagine this is what df is going for. Lets put it simple, he isnt there yet.

  46. So: Crosby out - Achieved Flitcroft out Carol out Darren Moore out All the players out bar Garrity and Ripley Patrick out? Hancock out? I said when Carol took over that the vicious cycle would repeat itself in a few years, as it's always the fkin same with you lot. And so it has. Some of you really do have very very short memories and demand the earth for the £300 you pay every 12 months. As for the comment that this team is the worst in 40 years. It's not the worst in 4 years, let alone 40 for Christ's sake.
