During the 80's the away seated section was in the Railway stand where they were given about 500 seats. Had many 'moments' from standing in front of them at the back of the paddock. Most memorable for me was when a Millwall fan sat on the front row with his dog !!  Also remember a few of us swapping shirts with Sunderland fans when they were promoted in 1988.

And ducking when seats came over just as we scored an extra time winner against Bolton.

As a few have said, the railway stand had a section of seating closest to the family stand that was always the away seating section. Every game, until the Hamil was seated in 1995. I remember work had started on the Hamil End for the last game of the 94/95 season v Notts County. They only had a small section of the Hamil to stand in as the rest was having seats fitted.

I'm pretty sure the away seating held around 800 because it was the only section open to Southampton fans for the replay. They packed it out with loads standing at the back and in the aisles.

There's just no way we could give Plymouth another section of the ground. Pretty sure I read somewhere on here that if we gave them the Bycars, then our own allocation would fall below the number of ST holders we've got, so it's a non starter. And as much as I want us to move to the Hamil next season because I dislike the Bycars, it would be very very harsh moving fans for this game, their last chance of going in the Bycars before the switch.

The only way I could see us giving them more tickets is if we sorted out the H+S issue restricting the capacity in the Hamil to 4,000 instead of 4,500.

I am a bit concerned about the potential for mither on the pitch after the game. Less so now we're effectively safe. But no club has celebrated on our pitch in my lifetime. I know Brighton tried around 2001 but Vale fans ran on first so police stopped them. It shouldn't be an issue, let them celebrate for me, we have on other clubs pitches many times. Just hope the club are prepared for it and have the right security in place.

Perhaps they will have already celebrated promotion at home with a pitch invasion and warned that we will seek compensation if they do at Vale Park. Will the front rows be netted reducing the capacity, no doubt a heavy police presence too.

Just been chatting to Mrs Osh.

Only get back from hols on 6th; got a big week coming up following week with moving house and a funeral and a back holiday too.

Didn't think I had enough brownie points in the bank BUT got the go ahead from the Gruppenfuhrer to go the game (think she's invading somewhere that weekend!)

Can't wait! Wouldn't it be lovely to be the ONLY team to have done the double over Plymouth this season.

Describe the logistics of giving them extra tickets.

We could employ some 21st century thinking like many other clubs up and down the land.

1. Foresight, plan ahead, Plymouth have been top most of the season, there was a high chance of them wanting extra tickets considering that they often bring a great following anyway.

2. With foresight, advertise that in the event of a surge in demand for tickets, some areas* may not be available as usual.

3. Use this game as a precursor for next season, give Vale the Hamil, and give Plymouth the Bycars and Lorne Street* (See above).

4. Use netting to fence off fans as other clubs do up and down the country.

5. Stop whinging about moving stands, for 50% of the season we move grounds with different views when we play away but that is acceptable?!?!
