I called Morecambe FC at 9am this morning before leaving and they said the covers were on and they weren't even planning a pitch inspection. The game was definitely going ahead. They told me the same when I went to the ground at 1.30pm.
Something is amiss here.

They would of wanted play us with our strike force being out. Doubt they would of wanted it off.

Or maybe they see we are losing players left, right and center. May lose a few more for the rearranged match.

There is no way a club is going to tell a random bloke turning up about the possibility of a game being on or not. They would need a ref to see it (I think) and would want to announce things through their official channels.

Plus there recent home record.   Suits us as a club surely,  with hopefully signings to come.

Appreciate that doesnt help fans who had booked hotels, trains etc

It's poor really so 1100 fans would have been going on a sat more support and plenty of getting behind the team now it be moved to a tues 300 fans there and a much harder task get the 1100 going again .
We rarely play well or get a decent result on Tuesday nights the fact that most of our season will be played on a tues night is annoying .
Anyone remember when we last won on a tues night I can remember defeats galore but not wins both home and away in fact we would do well get a draw on a night match over the season thus far

My partners son in law and grandson who is 9 have got the Vale bug this season. First game was Sheff wed and they didn't see a win until Charlton .

It was to be their first away game today . The dad can't go midweek because of work and the little un because of school. Both are very disappointed obviously as am I.

Always comes across to me whether there are 4 games off or 40 games off , we are always one of them.

If Crewe and Barrow are on well Morecambe is arguably between the two.

At the moment only 3 games are off and we have to be bloody one of them.

? That's precisely what happened, on top of myself and other "random blokes" calling them beforehand.

Personally I think there’s some other reason this game is off, it’s been up to 6 degrees all week during the day should have thawed, that’s before the covers on the pitch are factored in.

its not like the grass verge outside your house or the back garden, this grass is supposed to have professional people looking after it every day.

No footy today and that is sad, but looking on the bright side it gives our injured players a chance to get fitter (and after Posh game - they are needed).

The bad bit is all the fans wanting to go today will not be able to go as no doubt the match will be during the week now and some wont be able to go.
