What's the worst football match you've attended?

Prompted by this article in The Guardian, wondered what the worst ever game you've attended is. Doesn't have to be Vale although I'm guessing we'll feature heavily. It's up to you how you define 'worst' but you need to have attended. Most bitter I've felt after a game was the 2-0 defeat to Stoke (last derby at the Victoria Ground) when Sheron scored two deflected goals and it all but ended our play-off chances. Worst game in terms of just feeling we had nothing at all about us was probably the 3-0 loss at Bury in '08. Look at that midfield! We brought Steve Thompson and David Howland on to try and rescue the points. Horrible weather, horrible ground, horrible result. Also remember a 4-1 defeat at Oldham on the opening day of the season when any pre-season optimism immediately evaporated, although at least we scored and there were some goals. Getting knocked out of the FA Cup by Scarborugh wasn't much fun either.

Mid 70s, Vale 0 Bournemouth 0.  The most boring game I've ever seen.  We christened Bournemouth AFC Backpass after that game.

Any man city home game in the 2018/19 season. Went a few and they were just so boring I could have fallen asleep

Vale wise.  The Bury game already mentioned takes some beating for worst performance, absolutely dire midfield and that realisation we looked a poor side in the 4th tier!  There was some poor games that season and the season before.  Macc at home the 4-1 was a bad moment and I seem to remember losing to Crewe 1-0 at home the season before(when we went down) Craig Rocastle falling over on the half way line and giving the ball away to I think Byron Moore who broke away and scored?

Most boring would be as a neutral I watched Wolves V Sheffield Utd in the championship(2008-10 ish) as I got free hospitality tickets through work.  It was 0-0 and literally nothing of note happened even chances wise.  The only consolation being it was free and we had a meal and a couple of drinks on the house.

Enfield away in the infamous Steve Cherry defeat. The BBC 9 o'clock news chose to share the humiliation in their sports section at the end. It snowed coming home. Desperate times.

Without a doubt the most boring was a friendly between Belgium & Yugoslavia at the Heysel Stadium in 1989. Belgium won 1-0 with a penalty. I was 14 on a football tour and going to that game was supposed to be a treat!

6-0 defeat at Aston Villa in FA cup got in the ground 5 mins after kick off already 1-0 down had to stand at the front of the terrace p:ssed down all match and got drenched think it was in the early nineties after we’d beat derby away in the previous round

That Scarborough cup game was awful. Also away to Lincoln in the league cup in the mid 90s stands out.

Freight Rover trophy game v Wolves. Circa 1990's. From memory, when by bus on my own , spoke to nobody at the game, lost 5-0, Bull scored a hat trick and had Bully Bully ringing in my ears!
