Match Thread - Port Vale v Macclesfield Town

Cant believe anyone genuinely thought anything other than a Macc win today. I'm actually really angry with myself not putting my house on the result. I have attended many away games this season together with purchasing 2 season tickets. It's the fan base I have feelings for. They have been completely let down all season. If a new owner is not found I am off to find something else to do. If Smurthwaite stays Vale will fold 100%. Fetch me a quality bottle of wine I need to have something to restore my belief in life tonight.

Expected Macclesfield to win but didn’t expect them to be as bad as they were. Seen some pathetic displays on the last home game recently, Burton, Walsall, Morecambe. Used to enjoy last home games of the season and would never miss one, not anymore.

That was absolute tripe.

The quality of the opposition reminded me of when we played Chasetown all those years ago but at least we managed to get a draw in that game before going out in the replay. One shot on target,no desire,no pace,no crosses and yet another defeat for the last home game of yet another dire season.

What have we done to deserve this?

We read the reviews on the Hamil Rs Oatcake shop on the way over.

Priceless!

Great oatcakes.

I'm beginning to think it's the only reason I go these days.

One of the most dire football games I've ever seen.

OK,i simmered, and stewed on the way home, had a hot bath to get warm, now 2hrs after the match and this is my conclusion it was fixed... blatantly so, we had a few good moves early on but they petered out around the D,and as the game went on we couldn't give them the ball quick enough. Montano is colour blind he could only see blue, the others apart from Brown were worse than a pub teams reserves, Brown man of the match a goalie says it all and also player of the season another says it all.

Anyway training will be later on Monday as the lads will be queing down the bookies... glad I won't be seeing them again this season.

Wanted 9 players in various positions, except goalkeeper.Donkies need not apply, not enough room in the stable currently.

I take offensive at your remarks about Donkies, ten of them plus Brown would have given Macc a sterner test.

Thank God we managed to stay up a couple of games ago because if we were in the same position as Macclesfield we would definitely go down.

Total garbage yet again from an abject apology of a team. The error I made was buying a ticket for the Bury game next Saturday. No excuse I did the same with Cambridge last season. I need to be sectioned. I hope the sale goes through then I will buy my season ticket. Get rid of this dross. I must be a masochist. I’m already looking at the league for next year to suss out who we might finish above. At the moment I can only spot Crawley. No hopers (Brown excepted).

Yet again worked out well with our static No9 leading the attack! Arthur had a real stroke of fortune when he was injured. Better result Monday with that competition winner Elliott up top.

Pope now impact sub at best - maybe Smurfs last laugh lumbering us with him for another 2 seasons!

Pope is only as good as the service he gets which today was nil.Macc put two players on him who didn’t give him a sniff. So predictable all season.

Elliott showed today that he is just a headless chicken and not good enough for league football and not worth a contract when we need experienced players. He reminds me of a poor mans Ben Williamson.

You would expect the players in the team today to be playing for a new contract but obviously not.
