Match Thread - Exeter City v Port Vale

Are 3 wins on the trot possible? Would give us 50 points and a rise up the table. Injuries may make changes unavoidable. How Exeter have performed on Tuesday against draw specialists Macclesfield may affect their PO nerves, so early pressure could bring us goals and points.

I'd be happy with the same starting eleven, replacing the injured Manny with Hannant, who did a good job on Saturday.

Kay played well on Saturday, so keep him in.

Howkins also should be retained.

Might help any attempts to sign him up if he's playing.

Preserve the Pope and he will score, so Miller to get under their skin and Tom to score the winner again.

Agree with this. If it boils down to Legge or Howkins for next season, I'd rather it was Howkins. So keeping him 'happy' and continuing to integrate him into the team might just help swing his desire to sign our way.

Most winnable away game left although the wheels have flew of Bury as well...

Exeter are hit and miss so get them on a good day with our away defence and record we can get the win...

Couple be mathematically safe with a win a Notts and Yeovil losing (or Macc getting 1 point over tonight and Saturday).

Reality is the pressure is off so if we go into this and express ourselves we can do well... pressure is all on the home side here.

I think his exact words were "there will never be another Exeter" or something similar.

"I will never allow the experience of another Exeter in my ownership of the football club"

Exeter beat us again last year so just another one of Smurthwaite's lies really.

I went to Macc tonight. I did not think Exeter looked anything special, but sometimes it is hard to evaluate a team that as travelled a long distance midweek. Look what happened to our rowdy neighbours tonight .

Macc were terrible in the first half. Mainly resorting to a long ball game. Macc also looked naive in defence. At half time I was thinking Macc were lucky to go in level. And were playing like a group of players who had not been paid again. The second half was another story. Sol Campbell had obviously pointed out the errors of their ways. Second half there was only one team who were going to win. Macc pressed them and when in possession kept the ball on the floor. Somebody told me SJA was there but I did not see him. I have predicted 1-1 for Saturday but after seeing Exeter tonight I have changed my mind to 1-2. Also hope SJA goes after Elliot Durrell in the transfer window, I have seen him play a lot of games and he is a class act.
