Game of two referees, ridiculous decision for the penalty in the 1st half. Good piece of skill for their 2nd.

 

Frustrating afternoon for Vale, at least Vale didn't let the game really get away.

Sure the ref was told at half time its not all about the ref and sort it out. Seemed a different ref came out.

A disappointing afternoon compounded by a referee who would be out of his depth at an under 12s game. He started with a joke of a penalty decision than proceeded to give Vale nothing throughout the game. Having said that Vale never got started and rarely looked threatening. Their second goal was brilliant but Exeter weren't much cop really but nor did they have to be. Another game chalked off in the third poor season in a row.

Poor result and disappointing but the bottom three losing puts us on the cusp of mathematical safety. I’d take losing this over drawing and one of the bottom two winning for example and that’s the bigger picture.

 

Hopefully the season will be over in six days time and then just the take over needed and we can get to the summer and enjoy a break from it all!

Penalty was a joke, having said that we were second best today. Doesn't help when you concede early though. Fortunately bottom 3 all lost and were pretty much safe.

Anyrode doesn't count because I reckon they changed the ref at half time! How could he give that as a penalty and then let some of those other challenges during the game go...from both sides.

I guess the good news is that the gap in quality between ourselves and a team in the play-off places doesn't appear to be that great.

 

Without getting too excited I'd hope that, with the addition of a little more quality in the summer, we can at least avoid a 4th successive relegation battle next year.

 

Obviously there is the small matter of cub ownership to settle first.
