It’s baffling. Whitfield is arguably the most talented player we have, what Aspins issue with him is I don’t know but you’ve got to manage not shift out players all the time. Imagine what Micky Adams would have done with a Ben Whitfield for example. Don’t get why Aspin seems to end up with players falling out a favour so badly? Worrall, Miller, Gibbons, Whitfield, Conlon this year alone. Whitfield last season. It paints a worrying picture? Can’t he handle players? Does he upset them?

 

I’m worried by this. We are literally at the bare bones especially up the top end of the pitch and even considering this would be ludicrous!

 

We have some decent players but my feeling is that we are seeing them at way below full potential.

 

New formations every couple of weeks that are never seen again added on and it paints a bleak picture of his management style. Literally no settled way of players nor a seemingly best XI known.

 

Its probably the same thought process that sent Angus out on loan just as his big chance to impress was looming.

Aspin and Smurthwaite are playing games with Port Vale's life at stake. Fans are a mere distraction to them as they throw dickie fits with each other. Absolutely incredible. Our Club will NOT survive as long as this pathetic pair darken the corridors of Vale Park.

We keep Dan Turner who got sent out on loan and, admittedly due to no fault of his own, did nothing. Yet we let Dior Angus go back out on loan to Barrow after scoring loads of goals for a struggling Nuneaton.

Aspin has said he is happy for whitfield to go. Blatantly obvious he never wanted a decent player like him. Would prefer another ‘versatile’ player that’s **** in every position and then stick him at centre half.

 

To be honest if I was Whitfield I would be really pi@@ed off.He didnt use him at Bristol and when Pope was out I njured was the obvious choice to play up front with Miller.But Aspin doesn’t do the obvious.

I can’t see that Elliott is an improvement to the team and plays before Whitfield.

In his current difficult situation you would think Aspin would play his best players like Whitfield and Worrall who are game changers.With Pope injured and lack of options up front why has he sent Angus out on loan who has proved to be a goal scorer and has a point to prove and hasn’t really been given a fair chance.

He keeps playing Vassell who is really out of his depth at this level.

Aspins negative team selections and tactics are not good enough but he will not change and relies on his non league signings to try to keep us up.

Aspin is really motivating his players by fear rather than encouragement.

He said any players not currently in the first team squad should be looking to move for there own careers sake. I take from that he means people like Worrall and Turner, players who cant even make the bench and haven't started all year.

 

I would be amazed if we let Whitfield go, he may be out of favor at the minute but he has been a regular starter/always in and around the match day squad. Seems extremely knee-jerk if he were to go and I would be very disappointed.

Just looked into the future 12 months. Saturday we are away at Ebbsfleet and Pope has been promised money from Smurf to strengthen the team after Tuesday night home defeat by Barrow.
