Great news! Aspo has clearly had to work very hard to finalise this deal and just in time for the FGR game when it will be a real boost. It would have been a blow going into tomorrow's game if this hadn't been done. Now it's going to raise morale across the squad.

 

So far this has been a good window, with Dior and Ben signing up, unlike this time last year. Aspo and Rudge have started to restore our tarnished reputation and perhaps there's more to come. Now let's just hope we can keep Ben at the end of the season.

Does anybody know the ins and outs of the deal? Only querying as Bournemouth may have, after his highly successful first half of the season, required an increased wage contribution as a condition for the loan extension, which may explain partly why Gunning has left?

Great news and hopefully a few goals against FGR tomorrow. With a couple from the Pope and any other players who want to do so as well. Wonder if Mad Gav will score an own goal on his debut. That would be the icing on the cake.

 

Having Ben sign will help the Vale climb the league. His efforts, touch and energy has helped the Vale climb up the league so far.

Excellent news - well done whoever sorted this out! It knocks on the head that good players don't want to sign for / stay with the Vale! Who knows - maybe a chance of permanent signing in the summer, after the season pans out?

I can't get excited over a 6 month loan.

 

I'm happy he's staying as he's our creative outlet but i'd be "excited" if it was a perm deal and a 4 year contract.

Back on track here..... I'm chuffed Whitfield is staying, he's an exciting player and I like to be entertained for my money. If he continues to be a success for us and Bournemouth stay in the Premier League I think there's a fair chance we could sign him permanently when his contract's up in the summer.
