Makes good sense. If we reach play offs or better he may well sign long term. If we fail and Lincoln go up, I'd be suprised if he didn't move to them. If we both fail, I'd expect him to look elsewhere as he's clearly better than league 2. But at this stage it pays to keep your options open.

Excellent news, as long as confirmed.

May I be one of the first to say well done to all involved, especially Norman, first few pieces of the jigsaw in place.

Still a signing or two needed, but this was crucial to keep the season from dying and ensure no repeat of what followed last January's dealings.

Congratulations all, and I reckon Ben must like it here a lot as that will have counted a fair bit too.

And Bournemouths options. Ben has the opportunity to push himself up their pecking order and they get a freebie new young player if his progress continues.

Great news if and when confirmed. I would have been surprised if Bournemouth had agreed to sell him as I suspect they rate him for the future. Would have loved to have him permanently but happy we have got him at least until the end of the season.

If he has signed for the remainder of the season then brill. Congratulations to Norman and Aspin for pulling this off. Clearly the lad likes us and the way Aspin has treated him.

His contract is up at the end of the season so might help us to sign him then.Same with Marcus Harness at Burton. Both might prefer first team football at Vale than playing in the reserves at their current club.

If their contracts run out in the summer, it truely becomes a game of ‘show me the money’. And if he keeps performering like he has the first half, I almost wanna bet, that the list of clubs wanting to sign him will excess Lincoln and Shrews... so to be fair, I think it’s important that we get him signed up permanently now, as I’m very sure someone with big money would come in in the summer.

Dare I say… Alex Jones…

I dont disagree with what your suggesting Danish but if thats his opportunity why would he want to sign up now... he could well choose to keep the door open for the big money/big club/long contract offers that may, as you suggest, come for him at the end of the season and it puts all the choices in his hands... I know which I would choose mate

I guess the only issue with that is that at end of season he could still command a transfer fee as he is only 21...Bournemouth hold the cards really which may explain a loan renewal rather than sale.
