A cheap and easy option, Brown had 5 months to steady the ship, instead he took us from safety to relegation.

 

People will say it wasn't his squad bla bla, but every time a new manager goes to any club in the world he's handed a squad of players which are not his, its his job to manage and get the best out of what he's been given.

 

Lets face it, is there a single team in LEAGUE 2 that would want Brown as manager??? ... just us then ey.

I agreed with you when you've mentioned in previous threads about wanting to keep some of the foreign players in the hope that they'll be given a better chance next year. Why does the same not apply to Brown, who has actually had half the chance in comparison with hardly any of his own tools?

 

And before people say he did bring his own players in, There's a difference between mid season old pros/kids and the amount of players available at preseason.

 

This isn't a dig. I'd just like to know why Brown doesn't get the same chance as some of the squad which, ultimately, didn't do the job on the pitch.

Clean slate to start with his own players and have a full pre-season.

Regardless of what people say we lost our 3 best players in January and Brown wasn't given the chance to replace them. He deserves everybody's full support and shouldn't be judged until then.

The squad that Bruno put together was dreadful and it needs a major overhaul. I think he should be given a chance.

That would be great if it were true. But it's not. The most Stoke's centre backs ever mustered was 8 collectively (Shawcross, Huth, Faye) in 2009/10 and 2010/11.

 

I dont follow stoke, but just checked wikipedia, 2010/11 they got 16

We also had a truly awful injury list. I'm not saying he did a good job at all I'm just saying he inherited utter crap and I'm quietly confident he will bring together a half decent squad.

You have no idea of the problems they had with some of the loan players - hence them not playing.

He got in Guy and Walker and we were unlucky to lose them both. I don't know why people are acting so shocked and surprised. I believe he can get it right and assemble a decent squad. Its what's going on behind the scenes that concerns me most.

Brown had the whole of January to replace Annick,Grant and Jones but dithered and farted about until he missed his main targets.

Don't think his appointment will thrill the fans and help to sell season tickets.How long is his contract (until Christmas I hope)A long contract means a big pay off when he goes.

Is their a performance clause saying top six by Christmas or he goes. Don't think Garlick and Fradley have the balls to insert that in his contract.Just waiting to see what his retained list is before I buy. If Kelly and co are on it won't bother.
